  1. I thought most liberals would disavow this awful behavior but from what I've seen most double down on it. I see a lot of rationalization and excuses, but no calls for civility. The excuses fit into a few categories: 1. Some random people on the right did something uncivilized so I'm going to impute those actions to the right as a whole and behave just as badly as the worst among them. 2. They called us snowflakes so we're calling for violence and harassment. 3. I attribute Trump supporter's motives to racism, racists are subhuman scum (unless they're racist against whites, then they're wonderful) and deserve to be treated this way. In fact, to show a modicum of civility would be to enable Hitler. Trump is building concentration camps and planning a holocaust, Socialism works, and capitalism destroyed Venezuela. Ultimately, most of the rank and file are proving to be the hateful, closed-minded, violent, sadistic facists they think they oppose. But it's ok because they have the right intentions.
  2. I would see if you can return it first, but yes.
  3. They're garbage. I had a G2 that completely stopped working after 2 years. I assumed it was a fluke and got 2 G5s on a 2 for 1 deal through Sprint. Less than 2 years later one's been sent for repairs (just stopped working), the other has a defective camera and GPS, neither can hold a charge, and both have ****ty internet connectivity. 3 phones, 3 lemons. 100% bust rate for me. By contrast, I have a Samsung S7 I've had 3 months longer than the G5s, also on Sprint. It's as good as new. Never had a problem with it. I'm using it to post this right now because the LG won't connect to the internet. I'd rather pay full price for a Samsung than get a free LG.
  4. Anything that keeps this story in the news is ok by me. This is one of those stories where the faux outrage backfires as everyone knows that no one really gives a ****. Plus it gives us another opportunity to point out the left's position that a married President !@#$ing an employee who he has professional authority over while in office (then committing and suborning perjury to cover it up) is none of our business, but Trump !@#$ing a porn star years ago is a scandal.
  5. The left has lost all credibility with claims of racism. Any innocuous joke or generalization is treated as "hate speech." It's gone from not being able to criticize anyone for being a minority to not being able to criticize anyone who is a minority. Anyone who doesn't support left-wing politics is presumed racist. They claimed the real reason conservatives didn't like Obama was his race, as if conservatives liked white leftists who want to "fundamentally transform the country" in a socialist image. The arguments for Trump being racist are pretty flimsy, but they spout the accusations passionately and with such certainty you'd think they caught him red-handed giving the keynote speech at a klan rally. They stoke the passions of simpletons claiming legitimate police shootings are racially motivated, with no evidence beyond the respective colors of the parties, and have race riots over what often turns out to be a lie. While they decry a slight undertone of racism, or some undefined, unquantified perception of "white privilege" as the great injustice of the 21st century, they openly and aggressively marginalizing white men. You can only respond to cries of wolf only to find a puppy so many times before you completely tune it out. The problem is we have a large segment of the ruling class that has convinced the useful idiots that we have to rip apart the fabric of society to protect us from the wolves.
  6. It wasn't even offered by Wal-Mart. It was a 3rd party merchant who sells items on Wal-Mart's website. The only takeaway from this story is that the left doesn't have exclusive rights to stupidity.
  7. Why stop at "white supremacist?" Why not call him a Nazi? If you're going to go full retard, go full retard.
  8. There's a subtle difference between calling you out for being an !@#$ and empowering the government to forcibly stop you from being an !@#$. I wouldn't expect you to comprehend the distinction.
  9. She's not quite up to my standards, but I still find Margot Robbie attractive.
  10. Living in Richmond you should know better. You can make a reasonable argument that slavery was the primary cause of secession. Arguing that these guys went to war to preserve slavery is a stretch at best. Secession =/= war.
  11. I do recall that now. Those people were scum too, but I still put that in a different category.
  12. There's a big difference between public and private statements. It's not a difficult distinction and it makes a huge difference. Sanctimonious people are the most despicable of all.
  13. It wasn't despicable at all. It was a private comment. Not a public call to action. The inability of the average person to make simple distinctions is mind boggling.
  14. I thought Trent Edwards just needed protection. Turns out condoms weren't the answer.
  15. I think there's a clear distinction between the level of "civility" before and after Trump. While there's nothing new about people trashing politicians they dislike, there is something new about the wholesale dehumanization of their supporters. There's also something new about the wave of widespread violence and harassment against individuals, and it's coming primarily from the left. We're not talking about isolated incidents of some !@#$ acting up, but rather large organized movements. For example, you have antifa violently "protesting" conservative speakers, and violently "counter-protesting" Trump rallies. You have groups vandalizing and picketing the private home of the president of the NRA. And there are wide-spread organized efforts to de-platform conservatives and purge them from businesses and universities. And all that's before you had Maxine Waters dumping gasoline on the fire. Not only has this not been done by the right, it was never done by the left during my lifetime. Not on this scale, and not with wide-spread support. The other problem with the vitriolic hatred coming from the left (and it is absolutely that) is that it is without direction. In times past most disagreements that sparked passions were over actual issues based in reality, like welfare, taxes, war, and abortion. If you were arguing over the Iraq war, there actually was a war to debate. If you're a socialist arguing with a capitalist, even if the conversation descends into nasty ad hominim attacks, at least you're discussing a real issue that can be debated. The new left is raging against figments of their imagination. These aren't even policy based arguments. How do you compromise with someone who's calling for the elimination of Nazis when there are no Nazis to eliminate? How do you reason with someone who's fighting racist policies that aren't even being proposed? I've got people on my FB feed who actually believe Trump is building concentration camps to exterminate the Mexicans. How do you reason with those guys? If you don't acknowledge their imaginary boogie men and join the witch hunt, you are a Nazi, or at best a Nazi sympathizer, and thus you need to be destroyed. Put differently, if you aren't "woke" you're the enemy. And an enemy deserves no mercy. That's a far cry from calling Obama a Muslim or burning an effigy of Bush with a swastika on its arm.
  16. Well, WE can remember, but their supporters have short memories. Every time one of their phony scandals falls apart they're on to the next without giving it a second thought.
  17. Apparently the prevailing view on the left is that it's fine to be a rude, classless !@#$ to people whose political views differ from yours as long as you accuse them of racism. Evidence of said racism is optional.
