  1. I can see it working more for longer kicks. Anything under maybe 40 yards I consider it pointless. But with the leg needed to boot one in from like 50, I can see it being worth the risk to make them do it twice in a row.
  2. Chris Bell, Joe Strummer, Gene Vincent, D Boon (from the Minutemen), The Exploding Hearts (3 members died when their van crashed on their first big tour), Ian Curtis (from Joy Division) But top of that pile has got to be Otis Redding.
  3. outside of the Spiller injury, think there's a lot to feel good about today. Led for the entire game, no turnovers outside of that one VERY QUESTIONABLE Fitz fumble, greedy defense, Fitz making some decent plays, Choice rising to the occasion, breaking that awful losing road game streak...... Still not 100% convinced playoffs are happening, but they could be. So that's something
  4. brings the punt to what, 12 yards? That nonsense loses games
  5. give it to Choice and get that clock down. Barring anything majorly stupid we got 2-1.
  6. I wouldn't say no to maybe throwing the ball forward. This is Trent ball and I do not like it.
  7. Offense needs to string something together here. It would be nice if the Fitz from the first couple drives could show up now.
  8. Stevie needs to learn how to catch. How many drops today? 4? 5?
  9. What is with this team and injuries?! Always the best players too. You could hit Thigpen with a truck and he'll be fine, but just watch Kyle Williams snap his leg in half or something.
  10. Wow, so who's this guy in the Ryan Fitzpatrick costume?
  11. Peter King has been singling out an Offensive Lineman every week for going above and beyond. This week the hero is Cordy Glenn: Cordy Glenn, T, Buffalo. C.J. Spiller followed up a 169-yard performance last week with a 123-yarder Sunday against Kansas City, becoming the first back since Jim Brown in 1963 to have an average of more than 10 yards per rush after two weeks of a season. Against K.C., Glenn had a key block on the opening touchdown, a short pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Scott Chandler, and a few minutes later sprung Spiller on his first touchdown run of the day, a five-yarder, with a crushing block. And on the third scoring drive by the Bills, Glenn made a block to help spring Spiller for 27. Not bad for the 41st pick in the draft, starting as a rookie at the toughest spot on the line. 12. It's a little early to make the playoffs....so that's a whole lot of premature spazz. Lot to like in this game. Encouraging step forward. But something absolutely needs to be done about the passing game before we can all afford to get too excited.
  13. because it was worth only 6 points and not 29. So no one cared.
  14. I'm throwing some blame on the entire WR corps, particularly Stevie. Fitz is certainly playing C grade football, but something about that whole crew is off.
  15. Despite the win, Fitz didn't do much to inspire confidence. Not screwing up is not the same as playing well. If he can't figure out how to successfully stretch the field (though the WRs deserve their fair share of the blame) there is no way this team can compete with teams like the 49ers or Pats. Optimism: Think we can now officially declare Spiller the real deal. Freddie has essentially been out the last 8 games, Spiller has brought it in each and every one.
  16. This is the only appropriate response. Thumbs up to you!
  17. And it's also his first real game on a new team with new coaches and new system. I think we can give him a few games before we chase him out of town. Especially seeing as everyone on D was essentially useless. To me today was a major failing on the part of #1 coaching staff and #2 fitz. I'm cutting everyone else some slack.
  18. I think we can probably settle down on this kind of rant until we get some games under our belt. Remember a couple years ago when people were trying to chase Spiller out of town for not being a hero right out of the box? As I tell most women I date, no situation was ever helped by being a drama queen.
  19. Spiller was really good.....that's all I got. Although the whole team just looked flat and lifeless. I am not sure why that was, but I also do not think today's game is necessarily indicitive of the season. I can see a totally different team taking the field next sunday. That being said, even though I have been a Fitz supporter, he simply had zero chemistry with any of his receivers. I don't want to over react on day one, but I would not be shocked if T Jax was starting after the bye.
