  1. EJ had career highs in Accuracy, QB Rating, YPA that game.
  2. Yeah, exactly like the last time we faced them.
  3. Both were far from championship caliber. But the Jets were insanely inconsistent, looking like world beaters one week, giving up career highs to EJ the next.
  4. "Their D was close to championship caliber last year." In what universe?
  5. If we can make them one-dimensional by stopping the run (hardly an impossible task) and run the ball well ourselves, then I think we win this one. I'm not sure Tannehill can win this one on his own if their offensive line remains so...offensive.
  6. This is the problem I have with player breakdowns like we see from Joe B or Pro Football Focus. Unless the writer has access to the game plan or the playbook, there's really no way to accurately say how well or badly a player is doing his job. Sure you can see if he misses tackles or whatever but without their assignments you're really only seeing half the story.
  7. Dolphins Run D blows Spiller and Fred-Ex all day Bills come out on top
  8. I'm gonna guess 8-8 and hope for better.
  9. Oh absolutely. FO is in no way perfect. But it's at least more interesting than the gut call most rankings go with.
  10. Football Outsiders' rankings are the only ones that AREN'T arbitrary. They are based on statistics and plays and strength of schedule and everything that normal power rankings are not. Seriously, would it kill people to think for a second before hammering out their simple knee-jerk reactions?
  11. It could have been flagged but Alonso did not lead with his helmet.
  12. Kiko didn't lead with his helmet. It was a shoulder hit followed by side-to-side helmet contact.
  13. As far as I'm concerned, the only rankings that matter are Football Outsiders' and they have us somewhere between 10th and 18th. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff
  14. Also best run defense in the NFL after 4 games. In which they've given up 5 rushing TDs.
  15. All I'm saying is let's wait before anointing the Browns as kings of run defense for not giving up 100 yards to AP (who hasn't crossed the century mark in 3 of his 4 games) or Rice (who has 89 yards on the season).
  16. For AP it's average. Obviously he's one of the best rushers in the league. But his numbers, and rushing numbers in general, seem to be down this year.
  17. Not that I put much stock in team stats this early in the season but we're ahead of them in just about every meaningful pass defense category.
  18. Miami has won one more game than us. One. They are hardly the beasts they are being made out to be.
  19. How is it laughable? It's a fact. AP would be the first one to admit it. And "some" implies more than one.
  20. Cincy and Miami are elite running teams? As for Petersen, yesterday's 100 yard game was his first of the season. It's been a below average season for him so far. Stopping a healthy Baltimore attack is impressive, I'll grant you.
  21. The rule should be if the foot would have clearly come down inbounds when not impeded, it's a catch. So stupid that because the second foot didn't actually touch the ground it's incomplete. As for the Woods call, if that's not a catch I don't know what is. Yes I understand the rules are clear but once again those are bad rules. And I've seen much worse examples of "bobbling" go as TDs. Another rule that should be done away with is holding when the hold happens behind the play. Enough with the ticky tack crap.
  22. How quickly we all forget the back-to-back comeback wins against Oakland and New England, where both times Fitz marched us down the field in the waning minutes to victory. I get what everyone says about EJ having the poise and "It factor" but I guarantee some of the same posters were saying the same things about Fitz two years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love what I'm seeing from EJ. But I also know that I've had this feeling before and been wrong.
  23. The hilarious irony here is that Geno has taken two more sacks than Cam has.
  24. Rankings are practically meaningless two weeks into the season. Two games do not decide how good your (or anyone else's) offense or defense is, as we've seen so many times in the past.
  25. This Jets team isn't capable of dominating anyone. I don't think the Bills will win by a lot but Geno Smith has shown a propensity for taking sacks and turning the ball over, and that will be the difference in this game.
