  1. Chris Trepasso is honestly the only one I can stand. Although he's NFL.com so maybe not totally a beat reporter. Knows his stuff.
  2. The Bills beat reporters are worthless. Completely worthless. They tweet out updates on every single snap, every single pass, and think that this qualifies as analysis. I purged my follows list this preseason because their reporting was insufferable. They all think they're comedians, too. The only one who's any good is Chris Trapasso of NFL.com because he actually offers some insight and keeps the juvenile commentary to a minimum.
  3. yeah? Well we don't want you anyway, you obnoxious tub of lard! Sorry, guys. I've been in a coma for the last four years. Did I miss anything?
  4. Hiring the Shanahans, who come with probably the biggest price tag going, would be a big move for Pegula. On the one hand, I want new blood. On the other, Mike brings instant national credibility to the Bills overnight. He could attract the best and most experienced coaches, free agents, you name it. It's really the most un-Bills thing this organization could do, and would provide Pegula the big splash he's looking for. I'm still hoping for Pep or Bevell, personally.
  5. I'm okay with Polian coming as long as he keeps Whaley. Pushing out Whaley would be a terrible move by this franchise. I'm not a fan of glory years moves.
  6. Those other good starts came without a defense. We have a good defense this year. I think that will make the difference.
  7. Damn, we've met. Just didn't realize you were on here too. And now that I think about it, pretty sure I know who Whaley's brother is, too.
  8. Kelly the Dog, I never realized you were a LA Bills Backer. I'm there most weekends. Sad I skipped out on this one. Didn't know Doug's brother was a regular either. And thanks for all the details.
  9. Browns have a bad defense and wildly inconsistent QB. Texans have a mediocre defense aside from Watt, and a weak offense. These are terrible picks.
  10. Well, we are playing ourselves in the sense that we are our own worst enemy when it comes to turnovers and penalties. And if we win the war with ourselves, we win the game. As far as the Bills being similar to the Jets, I don't really see it. Sure, in broad strokes your points make sense, but then we would be similar to many teams given those points. Biggest difference is the Jets are 1-6. Experts can talk all they want about how hard their schedule has been. Fact is the Bills would be at least 3-4 with their same schedule.
  11. I thought this was embarrassing honestly. Sammy didn't sound too amused. The children journos in the background seemed to eat it up though.
  12. Thanks, Pro Football Focus. All they said was 7 for 9 on blitzes, which is why I said in another thread I'd like to see the yardage numbers on those plays. No, I wasn't able to watch the whole game unfortunately. Only NFL Rewind. So I stand corrected. Thank you for doing what PFF didn't (at least not for free): provide context for their stats.
  13. Brdigewater was 7 for 9 against the blitz. Not really sure it was working but I'd like to see some yardage stats for those plays.
  14. First of all, Schwartz blitzed on a third of passing plays. And believe it or not, that's when the rookie was most accurate. This whole "Schwartz never blitzes" and "blitzes lead to better defense" thing is plain stupidity. People need to accept that maybe some of the coaches know what they're doing from time to time.
  15. Bridgewater fared much better against the blitz than against the three man rush. Dude was 7 for 9 against the blitz, according to PFF. Not sure why we're complaining about the pass D when they gave up like 150 yards on the day.
  16. "I really like the Bills...but Tom Brady" is not a respectable argument.
  17. Cincinnati's run D is atrocious though. Like bottom of the league bad. Is it possible the Pats fixed their running game? Sure. But It's more likely they just exploited a glaring weakness in the defense.
  18. Yeah, this article is a bit one-sided. How about the challenges their offense will face against our defense? Namely, keeping Brady upright. Also, Benoit kind of glosses over how strong our run D has been this year.
  19. What's funny in all this is they didn't "carry him off the field." If you actually watch the original footage and not the clip ESPN airs all day, the players put him down before they even get very far. Clearly it was a joke and nothing to be taken so seriously. Interesting that the guys that actually played for him in Detroit didn't say anything about it.
  20. I say we split. Beat NE and Minn, lose to Detroit and Jets on the road.
  21. Wouldn't that be a byproduct of his low pass attempts overall though? And wouldn't a better stat be the % of pass attempts 20+ yards? Because I'm willing to bet that EJ has thrown a high percentage of his throws that distance.
  22. Football Outsiders' DVOA rankings have the Bills, uh, 3rd. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2014/week-2-dvoa-ratings What's even more shocking is we grade out as having the 3rd best passing offense. Special Teams grade out as first by a mile. FO rankings vary wildly from week to week at the beginning of the season, but it's still interesting to see.
  23. Curious to see where Football Outsiders has us this week. Last week they had the Bills ranked 10th!
  24. Man, Chad Pennington must have been the greatest of all time on PFF the way they grade quarterbacks.
