  1. I also thought Bills were looking to add man coverage in an attempt to diversify the scheme, which was topical at the time. And many good Ds are able to transition seamlessly between man and zone coverages. Indeed I thought we sometimes switched into man even after presenting a zone alignment in appropriate circumstances. So what I have difficulty understanding why we stick with soft zone when it's clear it cannot work - like yesterday. We made life very easy for Stafford. To me it looks like a conservative coach's mindset that is patently risk averse. After all no risk= no reward.
  2. I do feel that Bill knows D but are people forgetting what a mess he made of the Pats O when last in the saddle?
  3. Somebody said it's the first time it ever happened
  4. Never understood what the thinking was when they drafted Elam, let alone in the first round. His skill set is not diversified so he's got to be really good at what he does but then he is not a scheme fit at all so that he winds up being practically useless. He would have been better off going to another team for his development. I wonder who in the war room was in favour of this pick, why they thought it was a good idea, and whether it was controversial (with McD maybe not wanting him).
  5. Bills can win a championship with Josh Allen. But can they win one with McD?
  6. Of course you never know for sure but somebody decided (maybe Allen) that the probability of success generously outweighed the potential risks. Using the TO was of course mindless.
  7. Even if you are 100% sure the QB will score? Bills must have thought so. And if you believe it its the most efficient time wise.
  8. Again. Just amazing.
  9. Steelers facing a daunting task with a very tough remaining schedule. I don't expect them to win out. As for today's effort Pickens is the guy who drives that O. Totally different without him.
  10. Lions have #1 O-line.
  11. I hope you are right, though I probably have a higher opinion of the Steelers than you do. To me if Russ holds up they are good on both sides of the ball. What's important is not who they were at the beginning of the year, it's who they appear to be now when it most matters. I sort of agree with Pickens that Steelers probably win the game with the Browns on a clean field. I worry about Pittsburgh but I'd look forward to playing them because it could be a great game IMO.
  12. As great a player that he is, Warner looked flat out overmatched on Allen's TD run. Says more about Allen than it does about Warner.
  13. I worry more about the Steelers than any other AFC team. To me their D is best built to confront Josh. They are good on all three levels. They have Watt coming off the edge and Cam Hayward in the middle to make stepping up in the pocket problematic. Their secondary with Fitzpatrick and Porter is solid. Well coached veteran team. And Russ is coming off a game where he looks like a HOF guy.
  14. Rapp is a heady player. Major asset.
  15. Sort of a Ty and Ray game…oh wait
  16. McConkey reminds me of JSN. Everybody expected both these guys to be good from the get go. JSN was the first receiver off the board in 2023. He would not have been in 2024. Not nearly.
  17. Nice to see the kid find his bearing. He's had a rough ride.
  18. Bad but not as bad as Joe Calzaghe.
