  1. great guy and i wish him nothing but the best. i think the ravens are my new #2.
  2. all we ask is for a sign of good things to come, and i beleive we got that saturday night. just the smallest of chances that our "what if"'s can turn into "holy $%^#"'s! preseason be damned, it was fun watching that d-line and i can't wait to see more!
  3. i'm drinkin' this kool-aid by the pitcher!
  4. i am generally optimistic to a fault. i believe every year that we could be right in the mix if a few things go our way. i have given the benefit of the doubt and stood right behind williams, mularky, jauron, and now gailey. i stood behind losman, edwards, and now i am fully behind fitzpatrick. bottom line is i am a bills fan and i will always hope for the best and i will always believe it possible...even if it's not probable.
  5. oh my sweet jeebus! i have read all kinds of threads on here hoping to find some excited/insightful comments and conversations on here. and believe me, there are some. but it seems i can't get 2 or 3 posts into a thread without someone calling someone else a moron for trying to find positives or show a little faith in what a coach or front office person are doing. so on behalf of those of us that want to be true Billievers... QUIT CRAPPIN" IN OUR CORN FLAKES!
  6. didn't we pick up steve tasker from the waiver wire? i seem to recall he played fairly well for us after some other team decided he wasn't worthy of a roster spot.
  7. i saw earlier that players like troup, moats, carrington, spencer johnson and some other front seven guys had put on some weight, and it looked good last night. but then durring the game, there was an on-screen list of the height and weight hart for our receivers and it looked as though some of these guys also have put some weight on. i don't know exactly what this means...maybe chan wants bigger, more physical wideouts to go with a couple smaller "waterbug" types or what. just thought it was interesting that we don't have a receiver outside of roscoe under 200 lbs.
  8. i think the need for a big, sure handed, blocking te is more than a stretch the field type. seems like we may have that with chandler...so i'm cool with that.
  9. isn't that too much money for a "high motor" guy that is too small to play the nose and is too short for defensive end? seriously though, i love having this guy on my team and hope he retires as a bill.
  10. buffalo bills defense...12 sacks, 4 bears qb's out, chicago forfeits the game.
  11. i don't think that putting cj in as a full time wide out is a good idea. i think that creativity is the key to utilizing his abilities right now. we don't have the intimidating, mauling o-line at this point to open huge holes for him to run through, but with screens, motion and some good creative play calling, we could see a nice return on that investment. but i think that lining him up out wide from time to time would also be a wonderful thing!
  12. i'd love to see him retire as a bill, but i don't know if that would happen. i love me some pat williams!
  13. good points. i am hoping that those that were bitten by the injury bug last year will show the potential for which they were drafted, even if only on special teams (we need those guys too). and that those that showed promise last year will take another step in the right direstion. i am really pulling for arthur moats to be a stud in the middle for years to come. he seems to be a great kid with a real passion for the game. and if he can make the transition, it looks promising. hopefully cj can improve and chan can come up with some nice plays for him. and i am really looking forward to seeing who wants to be on the feild at the wide receiver position. if nothing else, it should be interesting.
  14. how 'bout we play a couple preseason games and see how these guys play before we hit the panic button? maybe see if there is any promise in our youngsters before we hurl them into the streets? or maybe even wait to see what kinds of players are going to get cut from other squads? yeah, i know that is just rifling through other peoples trash piles...or maybe there will be a player or two that are victims of some really good competition. ya never know.
  15. a friend of mine got that treatment with bledsoe, p.price and coy wire jerseys...i told him to stay away from player specific merchandise. also, my stepson has a lynch jersey and a hat with lynch, edwards and evans all over it.
  16. i was just wondering if anyone here has opinions on who may be ready to step forward from last year's draft class. it seems like there are some players who could be ready to make contributions on both sides of the ball. i am very anxious to see carrington and troup hit the feild, as well as spiller. batten and easley are hopefully healthy and ready to contribute, and i am actually excited to see arthur moats in the middle. seeing as though these are all players selected to be a part of the gailey/nix bills, i'm very eager to see what they have to offer.
  17. this guy absolutely intrigues me. he has great size for the position and i believe is known more as a blocker, which is fine. but it seems like he has the talent and just needs the opportunity. can't wait to see.
  18. or maybe with some additional weight on his frame he is going to be someone that can get off blocks and blow up some ball carriers. we need explosive playmakers on our defense, we need guys that hit hard and tackle sure. by all reports, barnett will be playing the inside spot with the emphesis on cover duty. maybe moats is being groomed as a thumper.
  19. wood and levitre are a year older and more experienced. bell is further removed from injury. hangartner, a starter for us last year, may be a back up for us this year. the right tackle spot is a question mark with a competition brewing to find who will be the last man standing. and get this...there are free agents out there right now, and more to come following all the cuts that teams will be making before the season starts. and also, the season is 5 FREAKIN" WEEKS AWAY!!!!!!!! too many people jmping off the deep end too soon around here. sorry for the overreaction to your post. i just got done reading about 38 straight posts that were complete "we suck" BS. i think i got some of it in my eye.
  20. marv will always be tied to some of my best memories, and he has given some of my favorite quotes and re-quotes. i hope he lives a long(er) healthy life. class guy and wish him all the best.
  21. i like donte. guy plays with passion and is a student of the game. he just seems to have a bit of an inflated sense of value (which he may be coming down on) and is a bit a a twitter drama queen. i don't think there is any question about his desire to win or that he is a team player. i'm just not sure if he reallt fits here with his personality and i wish him the best wherever he goes. i just think if he comes back it may be a bit awkward.
  22. maybe they are trying to put our best players on the feild together, or come up with some solid combinations for depth. moats has proven he can lay some wood but is a bit suspect at this time in coverage. maybe they want to see if he can take the confidence and experience he gained last year and translate that to a position where we do not have the talent or depth and shore it up a bit. either that or our coaching staff had a stroke and just completey screwed the pooch on this one. i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and i am NOT gonna "cross the moats"! let's just trust that the best players will be on the feild.
  23. if these weights are accurate it could also be indicative of some players hitting the weight room hard while others were running and doing a lot of conditioning, or others still could have eaten a few too many wings. as far as maybin at 228...maybe his metabolism is just burning everything that goes into his body and then some. when he bulked up to 250 then lost it all again it just seemed like that was the case. maybe his body type will just not let him keep it on, if so, that's unfortunate. because that would mean that he is doing everything he can and it will never be enough.
