This thread is likely to get real ugly. Real quick.
As it should.
Glorifying a murderer isn’t cool in my book.
I’m glad he’s rotting in hell.

I've asked my sons and friends this question and until now it was unanimous that everyone wanted to hold on to Mauricio the most. I think there are arguments for all, but here's my list:
Mauricio: I think he has the highest upside
Vientos: I expected a sophomore slump (maybe not as bad as it's been) and just can't ignore how impactful he was last year. On the downside, unless Pete walks after this year I don't like him at third base.
Acuna: this is the type of player we need. Speed, versatility, glove,...I really wanted to put him second.
Baty: from what I've seen, I think his ceiling is an above average but not great player
I think it’s too early to make a call on Mauricio, but I do like what I see. A tad cocky, if you ask me, but it’s better than being afraid.
Baty is my Ike Davis, Mike Conforto guy. I soooooo wanted him to “get it,” but this team is too good and too close to keep throwing a question mark in the lineup.
I still think Vientos has something in him. My hope is that he gets it going late in the season like he did last year and carries it into the playoffs.
Acuña is a player I’d love to retain. I love his speed. He’s got a good glove. Versatile infielder and he’s got the pedigree.

So it wasn’t our offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey that didn’t involve Hines, it was our offensive coordinator Sean McDermott that didn’t involve Hines?I mean you said that Beane and McDermott haven’t connected since the very first day. And your one example is a 3rd string RB.
You're being silly and I refuse to play your games. Go find @teef if you’re looking for that.
Toodles. 😘

Players not working out doesn’t mean they are not fits. After 8 seasons and hundreds of players coming in and out of the locker room - when some don’t work out it’s because Beane and McDermott are disconnected? Come on.
Well, that’s not what I said. And my example wasn’t of a player not working out. Hines barely saw the field as a RB with the Bills. It was very, very clear that Beane and McDermott were not aligned.

I think the Bills Front Office and Coaching staff understand their defense enough to believe if a player fits or not.
One would think.
But Beane has drafted and acquired multiple players who were not fits.
Most glaringly, Hines. Beane would have seemingly traded his own mother to get a pass catching running back that off season.
He gets a great one … who proceeds to become a special teamer.
The disconnect between McDermott and Beane has been clear from day one.

Only about half of first round picks become top quality NFL starters, and some of those don't blossom into top players for several years. "Colossal" implies something that's really spectacular or rare. A late first round pick who doesn't become a full-time starter on his original team is neither. A top five pick who fails to become a Pro Bowl quality starter on his original team might be a considered a "colossal bust". Mike Williams, OT, taken at #4 by the Bills in 2002, was a "colossal bust" because he never developed into a quality starter -- for the Bills or for any other team.
Furthermore, Elam's career isn't over yet. If he fits in better in the Cowboys' defense, he may very well blossom -- just as Jerry Hughes did when he came to Buffalo.
1. Colossal does not mean rare. It means huge.
2. The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest and an absolute joke that has nothing to do with on-field talent.
3. Elam is a bust and it’s not debatable.

That's a lame justification. Where was the appropriate spot for Maybin to be drafted? The 7th round?
If we don't draft him, he absolutely goes in the next 10 picks, just like most "drafted too high" players. Most draft boards are pretty close. It wasn't some insane reach that the jags or raiders are known for.
Look, man, I’m not busting anyone’s balls for the making the pick.
The fact is that it was a horrible pick.
And so was Elam.
It happens. All the time.
I can opine that a player was a horrible pick (which I did) and still not criticize the GM (I did not).
Luv ya! 😘

Get real. A #23 pick can't be a "colossal bust".
I’m sorry. I’m failing to understand your logic.Any first round pick who fails to become a starter by their second year is a colossal bust. This dude’s got three years behind him and he’s barely backup material, let alone starting.
That is absolutely a colossal bust.

He sucks.
He was Beane’s “Maybin.”
Horrible pick. Colossal bust.
EDIT: I don’t blame Elam and I don’t think he failed due to lack of effort. Similarly to Maybin, he was overdrafted. Not his fault. I do wish him well, but I don’t think a change in scenery is going to elevate his level of talent.

Yet so many people defend gambling can co-exist with the game. If what you are saying has any truth to it, then the game is ruined. We are just too addicted to believe it to be true.
Anyone thinking that gambling doesn’t impact the outcome of games is burying their head in the sand.-

If Damar Hamlin is a starter for the Buffalo Bills again, then Beane should be fired.
He is a goddam practice squad player.
He shouldn’t be starting on a team that’s supposed to be contending for a Super Bowl.
It’s nothing short of laughable.

Chiefs have an elite coaching staff and the most clutch QB in football.
They don’t need the refs’ help.
They get it … but that’s likely more because of gambling than anything else.
