How do you trade with KC?  The team that kicked your ass every year.  What a moron.

I don’t think worrying about other teams is a good strategy.

Clearly, there was no one at 28 who the Bills wanted.

The fact that KC ended up getting a WR with our pick doesn’t faze me.

I don’t care what KC does.

I find it hard fo believe that Beane is content going into next season with our current WRs plus any receiver(s) he gets in subsequent rounds.

    He has a plan.

  2. The purpose of this poll is to get an idea of how the TBD community feels about Beane’s strategy on night one before the rest of the draft plays out.

There is no “wait and see” option for a reason.

I personally like what Beane did and I’m interested to see how others feel.

I’d prefer a guy that doesn’t get high AF and eat enough snacks to show up to camp looking like Dion Dawkins

yeah when you get high as much as you do, I’m sore you need to stick to the less greasy snacks and as low carb as you can get. Or you’d end up looking like…. Well, you.

    Agree

You crossed a line. That was mean. I’m telling your wife about the time (just the first time) you grabbed my junk at hammers lot.

Well. I missed Williams from the OP. But I started watching as they were interviewing Maye. Man I’m glad I didn’t take him in the mock draft for the Commanders. He looks like he was high AF and ready to sit in his car at the gas station and eat a whole bag of Cheetos, 6 nutty buddies, and 3 Gatorades. I expect that out of @Gugny but not a top QB prospect.

Im more of a Pringles and Slim Jim kinda guy!

I watch at the very least every single year. Put the old Blu Ray in last night about 10pm to watch it, getting ready for today. Regardless of it being somewhat unrealistic in terms of the moves that are made, I don’t believe it’s unrealistic in how things are done generally. Over exaggerated quite a bit in sure. I don’t think there’s as many surprises as in the movie as the real draft, at least not at pick 1. But they had to sell it and if you were talking about pick 3,4,5… I bet it’s very likely. It’s the whole Aaron Rodgers falling scenario. Sure the 3 second rounders for a top 10 pick is rediculous; but for the sake of the movie they had to do something. They fixed it by commenting about the “rookie GM” thing and made that kid all twitchy like Tweek from South Park.

overall, love the movie. It’s a tradition to me at this point, like watching Christmas Story and Die Hard on Christmas Eve.

FACT:  There is not one person on the planet who can honestly say that there is a noticeable difference between a standard DVD and a Blu-Ray DVD.

Since you're at a hotel near JFK, I'm assuming you're headed to parts elsewhere tomorrow. If so - happy trails, if not - my condolences for whatever brought you there :)  (and hoping I just didn't make an @ss of myself).

Agreed on the 'break in' year. I had higher expectations than most going into the season - but quickly went to a darker place than I'm prone to a few games in. On the plus side, Butto is an early contender for surprise contributor/

Headed to parts elsewhere in the morning, thank you!

Mets with another gritty win, another series win and are above .500 at last

    Great day!

One of the many questions marks for me this year is the manager. I liked the text-book bunt by Taylor and the double-steal with D.J. Stewart on the back end the past few games. Also liked that he put trust in a reliever I can't name to close out a game instead of over-working Diaz. And some nice comments wrt the 0-5 start:

I am at a hotel near JFK as I write this … and as the Mets host Pittsburgh less than 10 miles away.

But we decided to not go to the game, which bums me out because the hotel doesn’t have SNY.

I continue to view this season as a “break in” season for our new Manager and GM and I like what I see from Mendoza so far.

    They’re aggressive and (overall) smart.

I loved that they go into a mini dustup in their first game.

But, of course, they effed up the retaliation the next day.

Anyway - happy with what I’ve seen and how they’ve responded to the very early injury bug bites.

I was very happy to see him make the cut.

I never gave a crap about golf before Tiger hit the scene.

Wonder if Vegas has an over/under on Tommy John surgeries this season?

Pitch clock or not, humans routinely and regularly throwing anything 90-100 m.p.h. is pushing the limits of the arm.

…..then adding the wrist wrenching spin?

    Somethings gonna give.

Yeah, I agree that this has nothing to do with the pitch clock.

It’s just not natural arm movement.

Last nights game had all the earmarks of a loss. Felt like a given that we'd get burned by Guillorme, Kelenic or even D'Arnaud. And Teheran debuting as a Met against  the Braves had trouble written all over it - when we went down 4-0 I almost turned it off. Glad I stuck around. Two comebacks, a gutsy performance by Drew Smith (gotta admit, I'm not his biggest fan) and throw in a perturbed Keith moment and it was a pretty good night.

It was 8-5 when I went to bed. I wasn’t feeling great and had a bad feeling it was going to go extras, so I forced myself to turn it off.

Like you - I fully expected to lose the game.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see the W - but not surprised that they almost blew it.

With my expectations pretty low, I’ll take any win and this was a good one!!

My older brother took me on a ride down Pacific Coast Highway in his '63 Corvair convertible and bought me The Doors as my first CD- I'd gotten a Sharp CD boombox a day or two before- that thing was a tank... and many thanks to my brother- great day!

My first car was a 1961 Corvair Monza 900. Bought it for $1200 in 1990 in Norfolk, VA.  It was in amazing shape and I was too young and stupid to appreciate it.

To this day, it’s the only car I miss.

  12. I’ll preface by saying this is a big nothing burger.

However … I do often wonder if Josh really is the angel everyone (including me) makes him out to be.

There is a chance that he’s a total dick. There’s also a chance that some of his teammates take exception to the fact that he’s got no one competing for his job and - perhaps - could be taking advantage of that … by not studying film/being lazy (as has been reported).

It also seems likely that Josh’s personal life issues were all brought on by no one but himself.

It is plausible that the diva, here, is Josh Allen and that Diggs called him out on it.

Diggs was a postseason no-show. That is a fact.

But I don’t think anyone on the roster wanted to win more than he did and laziness, outside influences and an overly-casual attitude were definitely things he was ever guilty of.

    Just my thoughts.
