  1. Agreed - I can't stand listening to Shoop! He is so condecending/arrogant and his lack of knowledge about football and hockey is very obvious. I heard Kelly on Rome........ Jimbo certainly didn't convey his message well. Rome asked Jim about his quote regarding CA QB's and Jim said he didn't mean it the way it came accross and that he doesn't think all CA QB's were/are bad, but that they might not be successful in Buffalo due to the weather and in an outdoor stadium as they have been or could be in other venues.....What he was insuating was that whomever the next qb is for Buffalo and wherever he hails from, they need to make sure he has intangibles that will allow him to succeed in Buffalo and he mainly referred to toughness - both mental and physical and having a strong arm to offset the winds at the stadium. I don't think Jim was bashing anybody that ever came from CA and played QB. His point was that the Bills haven't had any luck with QB's from CA. He just didn't phrase it as well as possible.
  2. Donte lets his oversized mouth shoot off before his pea sized brain can stop his assine comments. Whitners off field problems, his average play, and his overall salary and where he was picked all come into play with our opinion on Whitner. If DW is supposedly a leader like he thinks he is, he should not be spewing comments via twitter about his buddy Troy Smith, whom doesn't have a whole lot of production to back up DW's endorsement. A "leader" wouldn't make public comments like this that could be divisive in the locker room, nor would he throw the qb's already here under the bus. Lets face it the Bills qb's and offense in general hasn't had much stability, lots of changes in coaches and schemes and the oline has been a mess. Hopefully the new staff can instill those items and fix the oline. Maybe any one of those qb's then might have a chance. If the coaches don't believe the qb's here can get the job done, then they need to do what they can to obtain a franchise qb via the draft. I don't think DW is a horrible player, but he certainly is only an average to below average starter. He's certainly not a game changer or makes others around him better on the bills. Its his big mouth and the production he delivers compared to his salary and perceived value as the #8 pick that makes bills fans criticize him.
  3. I was just adding my post.....not questioning what you commented. I agree with your point. Brohm might be a good qb, but we don't know and if the new regime doesn't think he will work in the system they install, then he may not be the best option. I'm not a Brohm supporter or detractor... until he has had a chance to work with the new staff like all the other players in ota's and training camp, I think he is an unknown quantity and be given an opportunity. If he succeeds great! If not, then he's gone. I personally think coaches should work with the players and design a system around the players strengths, but that is a totally different topic.
  4. How that a$$clown has kept his job this long is a miracle!!!!!!
  5. Wow..... I can't believe some of the comments about Brohm. Give the guy a chance to work in the OTA's, training camp and some preseason games. If he sucks then its not much of a loss. I do think he has some natural talent and tools to be a good qb. Whether or not that comes to fruition is up to him and the coaches putting him in the right system and playing to his strengths. To throw him to the wolves based upon one game, which was his first ever start in the NFL, with a new team and not much practice time and no offensive line, I thought he actually did about as good as could be expected. No he didn't look like Payton Manning, but he did show some poise and a strong arm. Give the guy a realistic chance.
  6. Brady is not a free agent - he is signed through next year. You lost any cred by saying trent edwards is going to be better than tom brady! I hate the pats but there is no chance edwards will ever be remotely as good as Brady.
  7. This is the same idiot that thinks tom brady is getting traded! Dude its past your bedtime. Give the laptop back to your mom
  8. He's been off the air for a long time now.....at least on a regular basis. I always thought his analysis of the bills was usually fairly accurate. Like him or not, he did know football. His draft previews were always pretty good - he did a good job reviewing players and telling of their strengths and limitations. He was crying for the bills to fix their oline years ago. Maybe the bills should have listened. Look at the mess we've had there for a decade. You can bet he would have been crucifying the bills the past few years, especially for the lousy job Jauron was doing ...... but honestly most of his "complaints/rants" are the same things the majority of the posters on tbd are clamoring for. With the joke WGR is lately I'd welcome him back. You may not like his opinions on matters but he was a hundred times more interesting than Schlep and the Poodle
  9. Suh is a stud..........no way he drops past 3 unless he gets arrested or fails a drug test prior to the draft. He has been a force for several years now. He isnt a flash in the pan like Maybin was last year. He has said several years of high production and as a starter. Nix and the rest would be sprinting to turn the card in to the commish if he was there at 9....
  10. Can someone explain who he is? I obviously have heard of him from reading the posts here, but is he someone on air, or involved with the media? I give him credit as he obviously has some sources/inside info. but until a few weeks ago I never heard of this guy???
  11. Mitchell may have been speaking the "truth" but to rip the guy on Twitter is pathetic........ this guy is now a teamate of his. If Mitchell had a set of b#lls, he would keep his thoughts and comments behind closed doors at the stadium and discuss it with his new TEAMATE face to face. RI could be jack the ripper/arthur shawcross and satan rolled into one but why blast him publicly when he is joining your team? Thats why people are "blasting" Mitchell.
  12. +1... It just goes to show the NCAA is a joke and doesn't give a crap about the "student athlete".......if they did they wouldn't allow this stuff to occur every year. They view these kids as a means to making billions. Glad to see the Cincy players showing there displeasure over his bailing....... Theres something to be said about not burning bridges......dude should of stayed through the bowl game. Shows he doesn't have much respect for his current players that gave their all for him and put him in a position to be considered for a "better job". The recruiting issue is negligible....... yeah maybe ND commit's are gonna change their mind but you don't think kelly is going to reach out to every kid he recruited to go to UC and try and get them to change to ND?
  13. Maybin really needs to spend this offseason and next year in the weight room and depending on the new regime, practicing the position they will use him in - either OLB (edge rusher) or DE....... he really should be a SR in college this year. If by the end of next year and start of his 3rd year he still isn't doing anything then we whiffed big time. The F.O. had no business taking a project like him with all the holes on this team. Oher or Cushing should have been taken. I hope Maybin does work out and becomes a stud but with the track record of the FO we should all be worried he is Eric Flowers pt. 2
  14. I think most guys wouldn't mind that job! Hell I'd do it for free
  15. I'm sure it might have made Marcia a little anxious/nervous........None of us would want to miss the birth of our child......but overall......if he is still having issues he is a bigger wuss than I thought and thats quite an accomplishment. You honestly think Marcia or Gezelle or whatever her name is are getting up in the middle of the night or don't have help with the baby.......I'm sure they have nannies and other help - maids, personal assistants, etc, around the house unlike most/any of us. Screw the Pats!!
  16. We'll never know how deep spygate goes since the NFL destroyed the evidence. Which makes it seem like more of a cover up than anything. It makes you wonder how bad it really was? The cheats obviously don't have all the players they used to but they look pretty average these days. Even Marcia Brady doesn't look so great anymore............ I guess knowing the other teams plays and what they are doing does help after all!
  17. Its probably a problem with the septic tank/leach line(s) or the distribution box could be shot........ you should definately have a septic company come pump out the tank and have them inspect it to see why its backing up. It could just be completely filled with crap - literally. The other thing you can do to help your septic system is if you have laundry hooked up to the main drain and can divert it somewhere else it will help reduce the amt of water being handled by the septic system and eliminate a lot of the non biodegradable soap a washing machine introduces. Next step is find a good bacteria additive to flush down the pipes once a month that helps break down solids and non biodegradable prods.
  18. We have definately been bitten by the injury bug and the Oline has been decimated by injury. They were REALLY thin on talent to begin with - at least experienced talent. Theres a chance guys like Bell, Scott, Meredith might be good in a few years, but they are very raw right now. If were lucky one will turn into a solid starter and the others might be servicable backups. The front office gets an F for preparation thinking they could shuffle 2 rookies and a new center while pushing oft injured Butler to tackle and throwing Walker over to LT, where by all accounts he was not good at nor athlethic enough. Alot of people here could see this or at least were concerned about it going into traning camp. To not have brought in even a stop gap veteran tackle was foolish. Their brillance gave us basically 2 rookie guards, a rookie LT, an oft injured guard moving to a new position and a decent fa center. No continuity and thinner than a heroin strung out model. When you cant pass block and cant run the ball, you are doomed to have an offense like we have seen this year. Who ever comes in here has to fix up the line to at least be average in pass pro and run blocking and figure out who the qb is first and foremost.
  19. what does the number of posts someone has have anything to do with this topic?
  20. God make it stop! Doug Flutie SUCKS! he always has and always will............he was a midget that took the bills no where. And for all the skinflutes out there crying about if Flutie had started in Tenn - little dougie got his shot and blew it in Miami.
  21. Plus why would Ralph put himself into a situation with someone he hasnt ever worked with and give him ownership %. It could complicate or be problematic to a potential new owner wanting to buy the team having to have Shanahan on board with him/her. And Ralph would also be tying himself to Shanahan permanently. What if he is terrible and the bills are still terrible in 4 years. He is not going to want him around as minority owner still. He also would have to include Shanahan in on all decisions, not just football related. Doing something like this just opens a can of worms and I can't believe Ralph would give up any % of ownership, unless he actually does have a secret agreement in place to sell the team to someone in place and they would be ok with this transfer occuring. I think the chance he would do this are very very slim. Throwing a huge contract at him ok, but not ownership. The only positive I can see is that Shanahan has been criticized for just throwing money at coaches, players etc and got Denver in cap trouble. Its easy to throw someone elses money at things like this. He might be less willing to go haywire like that if he has a stake in the team/bottom line. It might force him to be more conservative and diligent in assessing a player or additional staff and the benefit they would bring to the bills.
  22. Well I have heard of him ........whether he has anything left in the tank I guess we'll find out. We had to sign a few bodies to even field a line. Bring in a few more........ hard to imagine they could be much worse.
  23. I'd give Russ Grimm a shot.........he understands OL and building a power running game. He has had success in Pittsburgh, serving under Cowher and now in Arizona as Asst Head Coach. The Bills need a qb desperately but the OL is equally bad or is perhaps in even worse shape. He also seems like he is not a lifeless wuss like DJ. If he was brought here under a top flight personnel man who was brought in to head football operations/gm role then I think it would at least be a step in the right direction. But if our talent evaluators like Modrak and Guy are still calling the shots were screwed. We'll have more lousy drafts and poor free agents brought in. I know its been said but how those two are still employed is beyond me. There is something wrong with how we select and develop players. Get them outta here yesterday. They are as bad as Jauron in my opinion in their job performance. I don't want those two screwing up this years draft/free agent assessment.
