Gauging interest in a 12 person TBD Dynasty League
section122 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
In a dynasty league I think a salary cap or some sort of roster movement being forced is actually good for the league. If there isn't any difficulty to keeping players or decisions to be made you will end up with a couple of super teams that can't be beaten which will drive people from the league. The best part of dynasty for me is those off season decisions and not just building but maintaining your team. I really like this idea. It might be difficult to organize as I don't know if sleeper can handle that but this would be a cool idea. Perhaps SDS could add something as well to recognize the champ on the board maybe where it says community member replace it with tbd champ or something. -
Spreadsheet is up to date. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13E6NwiyWwlG63ERgr8aJWnE67diI_DqCVNDvE4c2U4c/edit?gid=0#gid=0 It looks like the Bills will have some options at positions of need without reaching very far.

Gauging interest in a 12 person TBD Dynasty League

Im definitely interested I would say $100 buy in is likely better than 25 as it makes sure people take it seriously and don't bail. -
Yeah if it was me picking how I would draft, I certainly would have gone OT there. I just don't know that the Dolphins would make the safe "boring" pick. As I mentioned style over substance seems how they run the organization. It seems ridiculous that they haven't prioritized the oline with how fragile Tua is but I digress. Campbell's short arms are a serious issue but I think 13 is a great spot to stop the slide. He or Johnson would be a better pick for them imo.

I'll make up for mine. With the 13th Pick the Miami Dolphins select TE Tyler Warren from PSU. It would make so much sense for the Dolphins to draft a tackle here. Unfortunately they love style over substance. Warren can be their Kittle and add even more threats to their offense. @CNYfan is on the clock

It should be noted that interview was from 2023 and not a recent thing. Also he looks very distracted and is talking to some random podcast guy. I won't disagree that it is concerning as this puts him in the football is a job camp that I think doesn't lend itself to top notch competitiveness and willingness to work that extra bit to be great.
-
Wow does this make it one of the worst drafts since you started grading? Having 22 or 23 first rounders is somewhere around normal but to see so many late firsts is striking.
-
Don't tease us lol What does your top 5 or 10 look like?
-
I wonder if I scraped some old data (I used cbs). Looking through in January he was projected as a late first early second rounder. PFF had him 28th in January and now 7th. CBS had him 56th and now 35th It looks like he lives as the 3rd or 4th ranked CB according to most sites.

Spreadsheet is updated. Looking like there will be a nice group of players to select from for the Bills. I will fix the formatting when I get a chance to sit in front of a computer. Biggest "Reaches" so far are Ebuka at 6 (22 spots higher than ranking) and Barron (24 spots higher). Too early for best values No real trends either 5 offense, 5 defense, and 1 2 way player.

I will give my guarantee (as worthless as it is) that the Browns take a QB. They aren't going to be scared away from Sanders. If the Browns don't take him the Giants will.
-
I made a google doc to track the best available, picks made, and team needs. If anyone could help me manage it send me a pm. @Big Blitz interested in doing it again this year?
-
My favorite time of year! I'm in, no preference on team. You can give me whatever team others don't take. I can put together the google doc again if you would like. If I could get a volunteer or 2 to help me manage it and keep it updated that would be great.

NFL is considering some rule changes in 2025
section122 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
The biggest issue is what to do if there is a penalty. Defensive holding and its an automatic first down? That's cheap and we all know will lead to some questionable calls. Replay the down? Now the defense can do what they need if they get beat to not allow the catch and what they get a redo? I love the theory too but I don't see a way to make it a reality. -

#3 is pandoras box. They can't allow replay assist to retroactively apply a flag which I get but it also is what would make it the most effective. The next step is letting coaches challenge missed penalties. There is no way that Darnold play shouldn't be corrected when everyone knows what happened. -
Ultimately I think a trade for Garrett would be the best play but I also like Nolen so far. Dline has to be the play. The o line was improved last year this year has to be all about the defensive line and pressuring the qb.

Cuban isnt running the mavs and hasnt for a few years. The new owners clearly didn't want to pony up for doncic. As a laker fan it's incredible. Trading a 32 year old oft banged up 2nd star for a certified superstar is an incredible get. I am wondering tho if Luka is either more banged up than we know or has hit that rumored 270 lbs.

AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
section122 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
My immediate thought to the bolded stat was no way that is true. It is and that is kind of crazy! -
For sure but think about this time last year. The Commanders had a terrible reputation and a dearth of talent. Their owner hasn't done well in the NBA so I can see being nervous about how he would do in the NFL. Also if Johnson goes there, Kliff doesn't so who knows how Daniels performs this year. Add in the Quinn isn't a first time HC and I don't think it is as easy as saying he would be successful as well if he had taken the job. In hindsight he probably regrets somewhat not taking that job but I just feel that Saints job is a mess. Commanders were going to get their pick of Daniels or Maye, Bears have Williams, Saints have the shell of Derek Carr who I never really loved to begin with. Going into next year the saints have negative 50 million in cap space, 48 million in dead cap, 36 year old cam jordan making 20 mill, torn acl 35 year old taysom hill making 17 mill, 33 year old Honey Badger making 11 mill, and Carr making 50 mill! I agree that 1 of 32 is enticing. I just think this Saints job is so bad, nobody can be successful at it and Brady could do real damage to his reputation if he takes it. Look at what the Panthers OC job did to his reputation.
-
I think Ben Johnson just showed that you can wait for a better spot. I think you only take that job if you aren't sure you will be offered again in the future. Since Brady would be staying with Allen in this scenario it is very likely he would be a hot candidate next year. So if I was Brady, no I wouldn't take it. What if the Bengals job comes open next year and he could have Burrow/Chase as opposed to Carr/Olave (who is contemplating retirement)
-
Allegedly McCarthy to the Saints is his landing spot. I think Brady would be crazy to take that job. No QB, really bad salary cap, no extra picks.
-
I was looking for a picture of Allen scoring the td against the chiefs this year at the end of the game if anyone has or knows where I can find one.

I found the whole episode on YouTube but not sure how long it will be up for. It streams on max.

John Harbaugh Presser After the Loss - I always respected him
section122 replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Harbaugh has only been to and won 1 super bowl. Have no problems with his halftime or post game quotes. His team just lost a heart breaker he needs to be positive towards his guys there.
