  1. Very interesting thanks for posting. Interestingly enough Polian has Cary Williams rated as an A in spite of the stat you posted. I thought he played well and never stood out to me as a player that was continually picked on (like Culliver on the niners did). I wonder how many of the first downs he gave up were as he got his feet wet. MAuluga is also rated an A by Polian but I don't neccesarily agree. He appears to be a borderline guy. One who I would like the pick up and I think could start immediately but I am unsure of the cost/benefit ratio for him. McKelvin is tough to judge. ST is not a big selling point as returners are dime a dozen. Does he get paid on potential at cb or his (lack of) production at the spot. I thought he came on in place of Williams last year and would love to see him back. The cost is definitely something worth paying attention to.
  2. Assuming the Bills have 30.4 (from the thread 9.8 million carry over + 20.6 in cap space) million my dream off season would go this way: Resign Byrd 7 million (slightly more than the franchise tag #) Resign Levitre 5.2 million (Ben Grubbs Money) Resign McKelvin 3.5 million (This # seems reasonable to me for him. His value is more as a return man than a cb - although I think he did improve this year in that regard) That is 15.2 million leaving 15.2 for Rookies and other signings. Rookie cap at about 7.2 million (I'm guessing at this number because I couldn't find it anywhere online) leaving 8 million for other free agents. I'd like more money so I'd cut; Kelsay (4.175), McGee (2.1) and Wilson (3.375) giving me total 17.65 to spend where I see fit. My signings: Phillip Wheeler OLB Raiders - I don't think Kruger (although I would be very happy with him) will be an option and wheeler is coming off of a prove me season where he did. I think he could be had for a reasonable contract somewhere in the 5 million a year range. Brad Jones MLB Packers - 3 down lb and the position that needs the most help. 6 million a year. Domenik Hixon WR Giants - I know people are all over Jennings, Bowe, Wallace, etc... but each of those receivers are going to want a lot of many and all of them have issues. Jennings injury, Bowe incosistency, and Wallace inconsistency/wants big bucks. Hixon has produced when given the opportunity and I think he would be a great value signing. 2.5 million a year Cary Williams CB Ravens - CB is a need on this team and Williams did well filling in for Webb this year. I think he is the guy pinched out due to lack of money. 3.5 million a year. I think this would fill all of our needs before the draft (except qb) leaving us able to pick the bpa whenever it is our turn. Some of these numbers are fluid (rookie wage allotment) and I have no idea what all of these players demands would be. The numbers seemed fair to me but it's play money. Hopefully the real dollars match up. So what do you guys think?
  3. It must be Mr. Sunshine. I made it bigger and bolder to help you out this time though. I will be following his injuries. 3 of the last 4 years he has had injury issues. He missed an entire year, was severely hampered at the end of one (Chase Blackburn for the int!), and missed a chunk of this year. It is starting to be a trend Mr. Sunshine and one that I will be paying attention to. That is all I was pointing out. I'm not going to speculate on the reasons why because it would be just that speculation. The rep for him and reason he slid in the draft was how the concern over how long would his body hold up. I think we are seeing signs that it might not be that long.
  4. Wow she is one manly mom! I honestly thought she was a he until reading the caption.
  5. Yikes I feel good about mine... Bought a duplex and live downstairs while renting out the upstairs. Had the perfect setup as I rented to friends. As life goes eventually my friends moved out and I had to rent to a stranger. Waded through a bunch of terrible prospects before a guy in his mid 20's came to look at the place. He liked it and he wasn't a scumbag so I offered it to him. He had just broken up with his gf whom he had a >1 year old with. 1.5 months into the lease he tells me she got evicted and needed a place to stay until the end of the month when her new apt. would be ready. I reluctantly agreed. Then I found out she had 3 other kids. This is a 2 bedroom apt. with 5/6 rooms total and they had 4 kids and 2 adults living there. Living downstairs from that was pure torture. The girl was incredibly lazy and never took the kids out even though I have 2 parks within a 1/4 mile of my house. The month was up and she didn't move out. I mentioned something to him and he told me there was a hold up. End of next month she's still there. It continued for 3 months until I told him she had to leave or they had to leave. He said she would leave. After another month there lease is over and I inform them I won't be extending the lease. They asked for a few extra days and I gave it to them which turned out to be 2 weeks. He called me and asked me to come upstairs to do final walk through where I got ambushed by 2 of the kids "why are you making us move out and splitting up mommy and daddy?" Got letters from the welfare department for a few months after. She had been claiming that she was paying the rent and it was much more than I had been charging her. She was using it to get extra benefits. I knew the girl who worked at the welfare office, made a sworn statement, and the girl got busted a few months later for welfare fraud. The guy called me and thanked me, as he would now get custody of his kid, and he was free from her. Not sure if that stayed permanent but my hands were clean. I still think he was an incredibly nice guy and felt bad evicting him - her? Not so much.
  6. Is it funny because you disagree? Or is it funny for a different reason. I have seen a few mocks with Nassib going to the Chiefs #1. At this point it is a guessing game and the "mocks" get more and more accurate as these people work their contacts. I watched a lot of Nassib and think he can turn into a good NFL qb. I also have seen alot of Geno Smith as well as others. Nobody in this class has separated themselves so people are going to have varying opinions. Add in that QB is such a vital position and it isn't a far stretch to think the top rated player at the most important position would be rated #1. But go ahead continue on your anti-Nassib crusade. If you feel he isn't going to be good that's all fine and well we won't know until this fall. As for Russ Lande - he has worked in the NFL (the big knock on Kiper and McShay) and works for a national publication (Sporting News). He may know a thing or 2 more about scouting than you fwiw (not saying you can't disagree with him). I think the "guessing" isn't guessing at all. I think they work their contacts and find out who will go where and that is how they are accurate. Talent assesment (as you pointed out) is the key trait to look for in these prognosticators. I don't care where players are slotted I care about their talent, projection to the next level, etc.. Mayock is very good in this regard and I actually also used to enjoy Lande (when I had a subscription to sporting news before their service went wonky).
  7. Ah mr. Sunshine... No not his partying as I said I don't care. I think his injury trend/history is something that is concerning and worth paying attention to. I have no idea why and didn't speculate. This isn't the Stevie works out thread. Nice reading comprehension though.
  8. I'm gonna go ahead and do it... Gronk is injury prone. He missed all of 09 while in college. 2010 limited action - injury free. 2011 ankle injury hampered him in the superbowl. 2012 broken arm twice put him out. 3 of the last 4 years he has had injury problems. His hard playing style does not benefit him on the field and his hard partying doesn't benefit him off the field. I have no opinion on his actions off the field as they don't matter much to me, I just think we are seeing a trend and it is something I will certainly be following.
  9. This thread may be dead but I have too much real life experience with this to not add... I spent close to 10 years working in a psychiatric hospital for children and saw, heard, witnessed, and read about terribly despicable things that happened to these kids. I always had one comment to them when they first showed up: I know life has sucked and bad things have happened to you. You now have two choices - let that defeat you and continue on with a crappy life blaming every bad thing that happens to you on it or using it as motivation to rise up and be the reason you are a strong person. You can let it defeat you or you can defeat it. Unfortunately most chose to let it defeat them bc overcoming obstacles is difficult and blaming others is easy. We all are dealt hands in life some are straight flushes and some are ace high but every single one of us has the chance to do something about it. To improve our lot in life - whether financially, emotionally, or otherwise. It's just that most don't because it is easier to blame others than take it upon yourself to rise above it. On a different note: Back to the start pf the thead... corporal punishment can be effective if used correctly. I took several whippings growing up because I was a smart ass and trouble maker. At no time did my parents "beat me" and it taught me respect. That is to me what is lacking in this country RESPECT. Children don't respect their elders, adults don't respect other adults, and it is sad. I have long had issue with the "American dream" of biggest house, nicest car, keeping up with the joneses, etc... Now that both parents work their isn't one at home to teach them morals and values. Now that most kids are in day care there isn't the sense of family first. It is all about making the most money and having the nicest toys. Many times at the expense of raising our kids correctly - which leads to poorly adjusted adults - which leads to more poorly adjusted kids. tl,dr: it's the lack of family values that is causing many of the issues we see today.
  10. Awesome! I don't know what I'm talking about but dammit I'm right and nobody can tell me otherwise! Lol
  11. hmmm that is interesting however he threw 48 ints total in college on 1562 attempts which equals out to 1 about every 32 attempts. Tony Romo 1:34, Drew Brees 1:35, Andrew Luck 1:34, Fitz 1:32. His best year he threw 7 ints on 468 attempts which would put him at 1:63 attempts which would rank with the NFL leaders this year (Rodgers 1:69). Interesting thing to pay attention to but his Junior year was exceptional to me and enough for me to be in his camp. Interestingly enough I had this conversation with a Dolphins fan friend of mine. Said exactly this. How crazy that Todd Blackledge and Tony Eason went 1/2 a round ahead of him! As others have stated if he came out last year EVERYONE would have been on board with drafting him. Then the team lost #4 pick (and his security blanket) Matt Kalil and it was a huge blow. These are not Rob Johnson's Trojans as they only put 3 players in the draft last year (Kalil, Perry #28, and a 4th rounder), This year they will put 4 or 5 in the draft. He has succeeded with limited talent around him but this year the line play was to much to overcome. I think the Borwns are set with Weedon, he showed tremendous progress at the end of the year. 4 of his last 5 games were above 60% completion and he threw 5 tds against 3 ints. He was a first rounder last year and I would be surprised if they gave up on him so early. The Raiders may not be set with Carson Palmer but they did invest a lot in getting him as well as Terrelle Pryor so they may not want to devote any more resources to the position. As for Kelly and the Eagles, Vick is a great fit and maybe Manuel for them in the second but they will not go qb in the first. Outside of Manuel though there isn't really a qb for his system. The lions are definitely set as you stated. That leaves KC, Jax, and Arizona. (all of this obviously is imo) Man I hope so!!! I'd be happy with Barkley, Nassib, Smith, or Manuel from this draft. Nobody else really does it for me and Glennon has bust written all over him to me (so does Wilson).

  13. Clear your cookies, cache, and history. Voila you get 10 more views!
  14. Mr. Weo? What have you to say about this? Is the crazy meter at 12 now?!?!
  15. Mr. Straw man. Wow no that's not what I said. What I said was he was keenly aware every play where Ed Reed was. An opportunity presented itself and he took it. No I don't think he was looking to cart off reed every play. Just wondering are you ever happy? Every post every thread is condescending. Sheesh man get off your high horse.
  16. Even though a gif of the play is in THIS THREAD multiple times it still appears you haven't seen the play. That said the most comical thing is "the body style of Brady" he is 6'4" and 225 pounds! Ed Reed is 5'11" and 205. He has 5 inches and 20 pounds but needs to cover up and protect himself?!? He could've snapped his ankle because it was so high! If he slid normally his ankle/foot would have been nowhere in the line of fire... As soon as I saw this play I thought of the wristband Brady wore with the phrase "find #20 (Reed) on every play," there is no assumption to make other than it was intentional. How beneficial would it have been for the Pats* if Reed missed the second half?
  17. I agree completely with both of these statements. I came here to mention that even though Cincy always plays Cuse tough and the emotions were probably empty, SU still pulled through. Cooney still looks like the game is to big for him. Grant on the other hand is an exceptional freshman. I have done a 180 on this team. I think they look like a contender now. The things I have noticed that lead me to that conclusion (disagree if you will) are; Triche is exactly what a senior guard should be - the leader and one that keeps everyone level headed. He is calm cool and collected, that aloofness that was worrisome has morphed into ice water in his veins. Kind of reminds me of Manny Ramirez. Just goes about his business wether there are 40 minutes or 4 seconds left. He also is the go to player in big games/situations. Put the ball in his hand and he'll make the pass or shot. MCW is excellent off the ball. He struggled a bit against Louisville and needed to find his place. Against Cincy he made a huge 3 and is starting to round into shape. It's fun to watch his potential transform into excellence. Jerami Grant. Somehow I missed this guy and had no idea who he was until he was subbed in during an early season game. He has done nothing but impress and is the single reason Southerland's absence hasn't been felt. Strong guard play is the key to March success. I heard an interesting stat yesterday and have no idea what to make of it. SU leads the country in second chance points. This stat is mind boggling because they struggle to rebound the basketball. This stat would seem to make up for that though.
  18. Tell me you see the irony in this. You haven't researched the case then make a bunch of assumptions then conclude that he must be at fault. Let me ask: If you were in a car and two people approached your vehicle, broke a bottle over a friends head, and pulled a friend out of the car, what would you do? That was THE scenario. These "victims" appear to have been the perpetrators. The actions of lewis and company, while you may not agree with them, are very plausible. Add to the fact that this situation was the wake up call for Lewis and I really don't know what more people expect. This situation made him get his life in order and become a better person. So many errors: 1. Wasn't murder or accessory he was convicted of obstruction. 2. 3 guys involved were acquitted bc it was deemed to be self defense. Many people get "off" murder charges this way. 3. It was Rae carruth so your ray theory is out... 4. So is it evey time someone is acquitted it was because the prosecution failed not because oh I don't know they were innocent?!?! Or are you sure he was guilty bc the "evidence" is so overwhelming? 5. "Obvious cover up". I'm a conspiracy guy sometimes but what did the ATLANTA da have to gain from helping ray out? Seems the better career move would be to nail the nfl star on murder. Or at least present trumped charges ahem*duke lacrosse*ahem.
  19. I think you unfairly paint that quote.... Here is the beginning for context: "The first night I was in jail, a whisper came to me, and it said, 'Can you hear me now?' " Lewis said. "That's when I knew that no matter where I was, by any means necessary, I had to prove to myself, to my family, to my fans. … I gotta get something done. If y'all [that accused him of murder] are that bold to put my reputation on the line, I'm that bold to fight for it."
  20. I don't think either of them need to apologize for their beliefs. There faith is strong and they want to share it. You can agree or disagree with them. I'm Christian and happy that they have such strong beliefs and don't hide from them regardless of persecution for their beliefs.
  21. I think this could have gone in the other threads and have a feeling the mods will put it there.... As for what she said - not one bit of what she said was incorrect except for the role model part. He is a role model and a great one at that. He made mistake, learned from them, changed his life. I can hope my kids would learn from this example....
  22. When your wrong and others follow suit in your wrongness your post is exactly what happens....
  23. Apparently yes you did miss something. All of the details are available IN THIS THREAD! You don't even need to use google. He was guilty of obstruction of justice. Nobody involved thinks Ray did the stabbing, encouraged the stabbing, started the fight, or really anything. The people that were killed instigated the melee. Ray and his crew were in the car already when it broke out. What justice did those 2 "kids" deserve? The real people who stabbed the "kids" were acquitted with self defense as the reasoning. That is justice. He also made a commitment to turn his life around after the incident. So lets see; he knew he made errors in judgement, he paid for those errors, and made a commitment to learn and never put himself in the same situation again. Sounds like that is the reason he is viewed differently than OJ and why people have moved on from the incident. I think a better example is the Kobe Bryant rape case. How many in here that are vilifying Lewis think that Kobe was guilty of rape? I think what is happening in this thread (and america in general-sorry DrD for the PPP spin) is that people get a soundbite make a judgement then refuse to change said judgement irregardless ( ) of the facts.
  24. SO murdering dogs is the same as being around when people get murdered. I plead with you to look at the actual details of the story and then form an opinion bc yours couldn't be farther from the truth. Actually just keep reading the thread... Ryan your ignorance has been shown on the whole situation. RK_Bills Fan thank you for typing out what happened as many in this thread have been to lazy to look it up themselves. Just be careful using logic and facts around here....
  25. I don't get how you point out that he wasn't the murderer but that it is still Ray's fault. Do you know why the people were acquitted? It wasn't lack of evidence it was deemed self defense. Does he owe it to any of us? Would many people believe him if he did? No people have already made up their mind that he is gulity and a scumbag. No amount of explanation will change that. wow wow wow. Not a murderer. Not sure what is fake - do you think he gets himself and his team mates hyped up for attention? Do you think he has been spoken highly of by his team mates bc he is fake? Wow. Not one bit of this post is factual. Every team in every sport has a leader. They generally are the outspoken rah rah guys. Many athletes do need that extra kick in the butt to stay focused and motivated. Your right thought they are grown men with millions of dollars who can question there motivation.... How many times do we need to see an Albert Haynesworth situation to be reminded that not everyone cares about winning?
