Something different/special about the 24 Bills
jethro_tull replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott has a great record vs the NFC. In the last three seasons they only lost two games (Phila and Minno) both in OT. That said I am concerned about this one because it's away. -
Something different/special about the 24 Bills

HFA for the Bills will be huge. -
With all due respect there is one fatal flaw with this wacky philosophy- running teams keep moving the chains and keep the ball away from our offense. A couple runs up the gut and the other team has an easy third down conversion. Stop the run and force third and long and a predictable passing situation. No thanks. Stuff the run. Always.

11/10/24 Game 10 GAMEDAY! Bills at Colts Post Game Thread

love the win and season so far. at the same time worried about the occasionally shaky offensive and defensive play that makes us look vulnerable to the best teams. -
Thank God the opposing 9mph wind died down. What an awesome strike.

The Bills Defense is Last in Rushing Yards / Attempt
jethro_tull replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
Point taken but they are not passing the eyeball test. Lamar Jackson running up the middle at will with the statue of liberty play. The play Monday night where the runner was hemmed in on all sides but somehow passed through a narrow gap for a big run. Many other plays where they are getting gashed. The problem is bigger than it may seem because teams are making easy first downs and rarely behind in down vs. distance. As such they are eating up the clock and TOP which leaves our "possession" offense struggling for big plays when they need to play catch up. I see this as this teams kryptonite against the better teams. -
Unfortunately it is true. Reminds me of the depressing Bills of future past. How does this team get anywhere in the playoffs unless this is fixed? How does it get fixed? This roster seems ill prepare for the task https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2024.htm

Should the Bills trust that Tyler Bass will return to form?
jethro_tull replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
trust and hope are names for dogs. the Bills need to investigate kicker options before the trade deadline. -
Completely horrible play by the Bills and unfortunately the demons we thought were eliminated with Leslie Frazier are still present. Rushing two guys when the Bills had good pressure on Rogers all night? Does anyone in the backfield actually look for the ball? Good grief.
-
He surely is not being very smart. Riding off into the sunset with Rogers after a year or two with no playoffs in sight seems depressing at best.

The Bills should engage with teams for kicker trade prospects prior to the trade deadline. They cannot afford to head into post season with their current kicker.

Raiders are open to trading Davante Adams
jethro_tull replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The latest news seems to be that the trade is paused because of the uncertainty surrounding the Jets- coaching uncertainty and their desire to meet the asking price for him. The Jets are / were Adam's main destination and taking away that option stalls the process. -
That's part of it- loud away crowds hamper the communication between the offensive players, especially between QB and new receivers. Seems like there are other issues- offensive line causing Josh to be forced to throw sooner than he would like, receivers not getting separation, repeating predictable run calls on early downs that put the offense into third and long obvious passing downs that are difficult to convert per the above issues.

Postseason is ALL that matters
jethro_tull replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
ALL that matters? 1 they have to get there. 2 a healthy roster matters. 3 HFA and seeding matter. 4 relative power ranking matters and is a good indicator of how successful they will be in the playoffs. -
10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans post game thread.
jethro_tull replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
probably covered before but why didn't they challenge the kincaid incompletion? that defense not in the neutral zone call looked very wrong. they sure were. CBS replaying the josh head slam now.... in a game where every play mattered the one where josh had open running field for a clear first down but yet he chose to throw it was the key to the game IMHO. -

He might be attracted to a role as a savior- of which this team needs a serious deep threat ASAP. -
Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start

The Bears OL is absolute garbage. Just look at them, especially vs. the Texans. Compare CWs stats when the defense blitzes vs. non blitz downs. Telling... -
let the defense take the win.... I have never seen anything like this team. It's more than just Blue and Red Fan-Foria too. So many weapons. Phrase of the NFL season "Everyone Eats"
