  1. This makes much more sense if you put a laugh track after each sentence. Actually, Once the smoke clears and Shady comes to meet the brass, he may have a change of heart. My concern is this huge O-Line seems better suited for man blocking and Shady, with his skill seems more suited for a zone scheme. I coached 17 years but it was mostly LB's & TE's. and I didn't follow the Eagles so much... but their OL seemed more athletic when healthy and ours are huge.
  2. And all the Te's & Rb's around the league will be salivating
  3. Super Bowl !!! Wood, Glenn, Henderson, Incognito &.... someone step up @ RG... and I think we'll have a big bruising physical (huge) line. A minority of one but Alonso was my favorite player but this trade makes the OL better. We just better have 6-8 competent LB's next year ! Free Agency better be profitable
  4. Only read page 1 of this topic so I don't know where this topic went, but I would compare Jameis more with Ben Roethlisberger than Jimmy Clausen. Not saying he will be that successful but he's a big guy who's a gamer and not so fantastic once the clock strikes zero. Rooted against FSU every game but you can't deny the results IMO.I might be a minority of one but that's how I view him.
  5. Gotcha. Just used to saving space on other forms of writing. Plus, I'm an old man.. it makes me feel cool anytime I can acronym ooops laugh out loud. Just thankful that there wasn't a hardcore Geno Smith fan out there in BillsMafia land.
  6. I really don't want to argue for EJ as I'm not a fan of his but Geno Smith is brutal and the last thing you want in leadership. But I don't want to get into a pi$$ing contest about who's better EJ or Geno. I'd take EJ but I would rather not have to make that choice
  7. Just can't see any way EJ doesn't come back. I'm not much of an EJ fan but he is better than what Rex had LY and that would mean bringing in two new guys. Don't believe EJ is a keeper but agree with those who say we can't give up on him.... w/out a very, very good alternate plan. And that doesn't mean McCown + a #6 or #7 DC.
  8. Well it was @ lunch and he was talking about Jameis being able to run the whole offense vs. EJ reading one side of the field and running. It was a casual setting with the UNC HC and a few FCS coaches and no players, that I remember. It was more build up of JW rather than put down of EJ
  9. He was the OFF co. @ FSU when EJ was there. He is now @ Miami and I'll take the opinions about EJ from his own coach along with my son who is also a paid college coach rather than yours or mine. Easy to be a draft guru with a keyboard. Much different when your job demands you be right. But no offense to your expertise
  10. Similar, only in both are way too inaccurate for this league. EJ was only asked to look to one side of the field and then run @ FSU. Whereas Hundley took too many sacks that were his fault. Comparing the ball out of their hands only ----> they don't get to the target. Bottom line : Orton is gone and EJ is not going even a game manager. Would take McCown over EJ if only because EJ isn't the answer & McCown just might be for a year or two. The view on EJ came from coach James Coley @ a week long spring camp @ the University of North Carolina last spring when he visited during the week. My son, who coaches Div. 1 asked the difference between Jameis and EJ.
  11. And the alternative is ?? EJ. ?? Hope it's something better than that. I think McCown is every bit the QB that Orton was. And that was EASILY better than Mr. Manuel. You've got to keep trying & he probably is not an answer for more than 1-2 years but we can't waste #14 & #10 with a QB who can't throw it accurately. I say McCown or Hoyer and look for a QB in this or next years class to replace him. Or we could draft EJ's twin brother, Brett Hundley, so DB's can practice their pick six dances. in camp.
  12. Yep. Looks that way if McCown doesn't want the gig. Grayson would be nice. Brett Hundley would be the second coming of EJ so again another year when QB is a need and little to no options... and no 1st rounder as well. (But I still like the trade.... this draft sucks !)
  13. In watching the combine a year ago, he may have been the WORST lineman trying to convert to LB there. Has he suddenly learned to play strong-side LB ?
  14. I remember the Bills falling behind early by more than a score, I want to say, and I got mad and left the Sports Bar where I was watching it here in SoCal. But saw the recording later. What a game . Still have VHS of Bills 51 Raiders 3 with all the interruptions from the Gulf War back in Jan. of 1991
  15. Bills roster much better than Colts..except @ one minor position & even there we both have 1st round players . Just dreaming but could you imagine Luck with this roster. Our 2 receivers are much better than T.Y. Hilton but we have no one to get them the ball. Not trying to be a homer but if we had Luck I'd pick us in the top 3 in the league. That's irrelevant I know but to say our "Roster" is 24th is just plain stupid. Luck is doing it with misfits. Yeppers, good point
  16. Agree & don't see it happening. Great coaching needed just to make him close to adequate. A vet, plus draft a QB. And keep drafting until u hit. We drafted a 4th round talent in round 1 out of desperation (don't blame them) and it's obvious he is not an accurate passer. With the thoroughbreds we have @ WR it's a dam# shame we don't have an "adequate" QB to get them the ball. Draft Carden, Petty or Grayson & pick up a vet. Got to try something but the answer isn't on the roster. P.S. IMO Brett Hundley is an EJ clone so we shouldn't waste time on him. He can't hit a secondary receiver either. We went 9-7 with a superior team & below avg. QB who is now retired. We're left w/ next to nothing. If we can get "adequate" on the roster we should be a playoff team....Finally
