  1. My advice is like others have said, enjoy the games and don't let how the Bills play ruin a fun time with your friends and family. My family and I still enjoy watching the games together, even last weeks. And it is certainly NOT due to the quality of the Bills play. Also, I lost my brother unexpectedly last week so trust me, enjoy family times while you have them.
  2. It is interesting to me how some people want to blow it all up every year because the Bills suck, but they are also mad that the Bills suck every year.
  3. You forgot the all time perpetual excuse ... the officials making constant bad calls against the Bills !!!
  4. I voted no, but if they could get decent trade value for him then I'd say take it. I would not flat out cut him though unless they had a plan to be able to upgrade his position with a inside receiver as they do not have one other than SJ13 now.
  5. YPC is deceiving for a runner like Spiller. One run of 45 yards followed by 4 runs of -5 yards each gives you an average of 5 YPC, but is generally not going to help the team much. In my opinion, a back like FredEX who is more likely to run 5 times gaining 4 yards each for a lower YPC than Spiller, is far more valuable to the team long term. Even though the Spiller types are far more exciting to watch.
  6. Quite a few people are already questioning Marrones viability as a HC at the NFL level. Because quite frankly he really hasn't shown anything to prove otherwise thus far. However if you are seriously thinking he will or should be fired after one season my advice would be to put down the crack pipe and step away from the keyboard because that simply does not happen. ESPN analysts are 12-1 in favor of the Jags. CBS with spread (Jax + 2.5) all 8 take the Jags. CBS without spread all 8 still take the Jags. Why does vegas feel the need to entice betting on the Jags in this one by giving them the points??????
  7. I am no great evaluator of QB talent, but when I look at Manuel I do not see a budding franchise or elite QB. I see very bad footwork, a strong but inaccurate arm, and bad reads. The reads can come with experience, and he has already learned to go out of bounds or slide. But when I look at Manuel I do not see a Luck, or a Manning, or a Brees, or a Brady. What I see is a very strong, athletic QB like Vick (minus the dog killer). His bad mechanics worry me. He seems like a nice kid and a hard worker and I certainly hope he manages to get everything sorted out. Vick has never impressed me as a QB. I hope Manuel ends up considerably better.
  8. We have dinner as a family Sundays and watch the Bills game. Sixteen very enjoyable dinners, win or lose (but we prefer win ) that I very much look forward to. I never expected playoffs this season. And a sports team, any sports team, winning or losing does not disrupt my day, let alone my life. So yeah I care, but not at a unhealthy level.
  9. Not unexpected among fans of a team that has sucked for 14 straight years.
  10. I think if this guy is intelligent as well as having the physical attributes, be could pick up LB pretty quickly. Outside of QB, football is not that difficult to grasp, as witnessed by the relative intelligence of the average football player. 13 weeks should be plenty of time to learn the LB position. This is an interesting experiment at the very least and could open up a untapped, and I'm guessing largely unregulated, source of potential players for the teams to sign without a draft. If it works, be prepared for other teams to follow..
  11. True enough, but what was this forums reaction when he was signed?
  12. "... if he can stay healthy" ... why am I having Merriman flashbacks? But as other have said, low risk and loss (Choice) and high potential reward.
  13. I'm not saying the Bills are a great bad weather team. But the bad weather tends to equalize teams. For example in that game you mentioned above (and I think I am still thawing out from ), if they had been playing the Pats* for example, it tends to equalize the teams because in that case the Pats best weapon, Marcia, would be reduced to handing off and praying just like the Bills were.
  14. And now we know ... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/164158-bills-sign-te-tony-moeaki-to-the-active-roster/
  15. If that is what you are calling learning to win, then we are just arguing semantics. I call this learning to be a better player. I haven't seen all the the NE comebacks this season (thank god), but they seem to be in large part due to Brady .... not only a great player but one of the best of all time. Now please pardon me while I go wash my mouth out with soap.
  16. Bad weather is a great equalizer for bad teams.
  17. Some "expert" picks are in: CBS (all picks in): With spread (TB -2.5) as well as without the spread: 7 pick the Bucs and 1 (Katzowitz who happens to have the best season record ) for the Bills ESPN (not all picks are in yet): 6 pick the Bucs and 1 (Schefter) for the Bills
  18. Personally I like it when players stick up for each other. Did Choice have any incentives in his contract he was getting close to I wonder?
  19. Ugggggg. That statement makes me crazy. Everyone on this team, and every NFL main team, knows how to win. Their entire lives they have been winning at football. From pee-wee through college. They clearly already KNOW how to win. What they need is enough talent on the field and on the sidelines (coaching) to win, period. Nothing personal, but the headshrinker horse#$@! drives me a little crazy (a short drive admittedly ).
  20. Maybe there is someone on the practice squad they want to have a look at during this early preseason? Or maybe someone who is currently unemployed? It is surprising though. I would have thought they could have found better deadwood than him.
  21. One of the most interesting things about this place is the diversity of opinions. My opinion of the NFL could not be further from yours. Particularly in recent history with all the TV dead time the games have become almost tedious to me. Watching them on a delay with no commercials makes it very tolerable. But we watched the last game live because it was a 4:00 start and wow did that drag on. The NFL ranks as one of the lowest on my scale. I would miss the Bills if they moved for the first season or so anyway, and I would miss what has become our family "tradition" of dinner-with-the Bills Sundays, but I wouldn't miss anything else about tackle football.
  22. I disagree about laying down. The Bills have players who want contracts with other teams next year or soon, and others who if the Bills cut them their football career is over. So if they have half a brain they won't lay down. "Winning culture" along with "Intangibles" are the two phrases used by losers, fans of losers, and talking heads that need something to say to take up air time. If/when the Bills start to become relevant again those phrases will be used less. Until then I'm afraid we are stuck.
  23. I certainly hope it is.
  24. http://www.firstdownlaser.com/ The only possible reason they have not switched to such a system is it gives the officials one more way they can screw the Bills every week!
