A relocation fee that the NFL could easily wave if they like what the new owner wants to do. Look, very few people know what is going on, and they are busy mourning at the moment. The lease et. al. is a deterrent, nothing more. Certainly not a deal breaker for guys who deal in billion dollar businesses. Logic to me would dictate the team would be sold as soon as possible simply to achieve a level of owner stability when dealing with contract extensions and FA acquisitions. We will know when we know and not before.

NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban

If your friends were at your house, problem solved -
22 out of 32 is not very good at all when you consider that the Bills currently carry no debt. Any new owner paying upwards of a billion dollars for the team would probably not be in the same situation. But like others have said we should have a better idea when the new ownership in known, and we will know when we know.

Except that you forgot punt ... commercial -
I have not seen the lease but what you say is what is widely reported so it is safe to assume it is true. But if an offer comes in for the Bills from someone that the NFL owners like, and that owner wants to move the team to a larger market that would make the NFL more money, all of the owners could throw in 13 mil to buy out the lease. They would recoup that in pretty short order in the right market. Not saying that's what will happen because like all of you, I have no idea or inside information. But burying your head in the sand because of the stadium lease doesn't make much sense to me.

NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban

I have been doing something similar for the past 2 seasons. I have software on my PC that records the game and automatically strips out commercials once recording is complete. Then for the 1pm starts we watch the commercial free game while eating dinner Sunday. All I have to do is manually skip halftime. The 4pm games are a little annoying in that we wait until Monday dinner to watch due to the late end of the game, I also get the bonus of being able to do things with the family Sunday afternoons. For us it works out extremely well. In-game ads would be the smart thing for them to do in my opinion. -
"I think the NFL is 10 years away from an implosion. I'm just telling you, pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. And [the NFL is] getting hoggy." -- Mark Cuban I tend to agree. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24498301/mark-cuban-nfl-is-10-years-from-implosion

I wish someone would pay me millions of dollars to do anything, much less play a game. -

I think it's funny when Bills fans make fun of another team for something that it does. The Texans sucked last year, but the year before they were 12-4, made it to the playoffs and won a wildcard game. When was the last time the Bills even hit .500 and could consider the playoffs in December? People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Good luck Fitz! -
If they don't bring in any competition the Bills are by default absolutely handing the job to Manuel. Thad Lewis is no NFL starter by any stretch. If Marrone is 100% sure that Manuel is the guy then by all means hand him the job. But if he is not they sure better bring someone in either via the draft or free agency who can challenge for the job.

When you suck as long as the Bills have there needs to be a marketing hook to get any national attention from non Bills fans. T.O. was such a hook and was the reason he was signed. The Bills have done nothing even close to being worthy of any national attention so far at least.

Bills to pull out of Toronto deal per Mark Gaughan
CodeMonkey replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree with you at all. Fans obviously want their team to win. But the original comment was that the Bills owed fans wins/playoffs. -

Cap could hit $160 million in 2016
CodeMonkey replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So for a 16 game regular season, that's 10 million dollars per team per game in player salaries. No wonder Roger is feeling the pressure to create revenue streams outside the US. When will the insanity end. -
Bills adopt variable pricing in 2014, ala Sabres
CodeMonkey replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have to make up for the Toronto money they won't be getting this year somehow. yup. Just so long as the early season games sell out with the price increase that is. And the overall price increase plus the extra game this year makes the cheap t-shirt give away for the non-refundable deposit more Brandon marketing brilliance. -

I don't think the ticket price has much to do with low attendance at December games. -
Mainly the insane TV contract money they get and Mr. Wilson carrying no debt. But I suspect new ownership that is carrying significant debt would not be able to keep prices that low.
-
Man it is hard to believe any NFL team has a $25 ticket anymore

CodeMonkey replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't fear it. It is just something that we enjoy as a family, watching the game without commercials while we eat dinner. But buying tickets for everyone then spending the entire day there isn't practical for us. Yup it is what it is until someone in government grows a pair and stops it -

I live in Rochester so when games do not sell out I do get blacked out. The only thing I complain about is that I disagree with the NFL being able to dictate games being blacked out when they get financial assistance and special treatment (monopoly) from government. If they weren't on the take and decided to blackout games for whatever reason I'd be fine with that as it is their business and can conduct it as they see fit. But your ratings comment makes much more sense when you think of people outside of WNY. -

Ratings don't enter into is as the NFL negotiates as a whole for the TV contract. If the game sells out it will be on TV at least locally. -
So 12% or so increase then.
