Could the Seneca Nation purchase The Bills?
CodeMonkey replied to oman128's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills can't pass that up can they? Isn't that part of the whole revenue sharing thing along with parking where home team gets 60% and visitors 40%? -

I don't see why not. A domed stadium that could also be used for concerts year round with an attached hotel-casino. Git er done! -

Awesome idea except for the fact that owners can't have anything to do with gambling. -
Source: Bills could have new owner as soon as October
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was discussed in great detail in this thread. There is a lot of good information in it. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/166653-report-lease-buyout-does-not-exist/ -
Could still be. Note that Mr. Wilson was the sole owner but Mrs. is the controlling (not sole) owner. She could just be the head of the trust which would not be unusual. Not much else is know at this point. But it's a slow news day so this got a lot of traction

http://www.buffalobi...98-b83b955dfec1 I would have quoted the next line in the article as well, but didn't want to get a warning point for quoting too much. But this is nothing unexpected, and certainly is not a guarantee of the Bills staying in Buffalo any more than it is a guarantee that they will leave. Simply part of the process. Go on about your business. Nothing to panic over, or rejoice about here.

Donald Trump asked to invest in the Bills
CodeMonkey replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. And you are being extraordinarily generous calling him potentially average. He inherited a good, near Stanley Cup team and turned them into the absolute last place team we see today. That is his legacy. How he lasted as long as he did is a mystery to me. Were I Pegula I would have fired that piece of **** about 2 seconds after I signed the papers making me the owner of the team. !@#$ him. -
Can Bills Fans Own and Operate a New Stadium?
CodeMonkey replied to Tu-Toned's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No decision to be made there. No one in their right mind would give a loan to a group that has "hope" as their business plan -

Maybe Rodman could get Kim Jong-un to put up the funds. -
Can Bills Fans Own and Operate a New Stadium?
CodeMonkey replied to Tu-Toned's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even close to the same thing. BFA wants to buy the team (which the NFL doesn't even allow any more, so seems kinda pointless) while this discussion (misguided or not) is just about funding a new stadium with no team ownership. EDIT: Oops I take back part of that. BFA doesn't want to own the team, they want to lend another group the money to buy the team. A subtle distinction but at least should be allowable under the NFL rules. Getting it past the other owners is another discussion. http://www.buffalofanalliance.org/buffalofan/The_BFA_Plan.html -
Can Bills Fans Own and Operate a New Stadium?
CodeMonkey replied to Tu-Toned's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How exactly? A new owner will look at the business case and decide to move or not (unless it's a white knight). A shiny new stadium may help if all other things are equal, but chances are any new city would also have a shiny new stadium to offer as well. And Buffalo being what it is, all other things are likely not to be equal. -

Donald Trump asked to invest in the Bills
CodeMonkey replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Born in NY but not WNY, and has his life and business on the west coast. Would probably want to move the team there and can afford the $400 mil penalty. Plus I have never seen any interest from him in sports teams. But yeah a Zuckerberg type that lives in WNY. Anyone know any? -

That's an interesting concept. Are there 200,000 people in the world that care enough about the Bills staying in Buffalo to essentially donate $4000 to the cause with no expectation of any return. Assuming that would guarantee the Bills staying if the money was raised. -
Bills are staying long term (Massare says)
CodeMonkey replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And in his next breath he said he could not guarantee he would keep them in Buffalo without looking into the business aspects. Which is the most truthful and intelligent statement anyone has made so far on the matter. A bit surprising it came from The Donald -
I have stopped going in recent years, but I have gone to many games over the years and had a season ticket for a couple seasons that ended about 3 seasons ago.

I'm not an attorney, but I have recently been the executor of a Will as well as a Trustee (not anything near as large as the Bills). It is not unusual for stakeholders to be made aware of parts of a trust that could significantly impact them. Given the contract between the Bills and the County I'd be surprised if he hadn't been made aware of at least some of the details regarding the trust.

I generally agree with most of what you post, but not this time. 1) The power drinkers ruined tailgating in lot 1. It's been getting progressively worse for years with some people thinking you can't tailgate without being so drunk you puke in the lot, harass people including kids, or worse. I suspect a lot of the direction for this came from the NFL that wants a more "family friendly" environment. The power drinkers are not family friendly at all. In fact they are quite an embarrassment. 2) This is something that is happening everywhere. Many workplaces have gone from from smoking wherever, to smoking in a designated room, to outdoors only, to nowhere on campus. 3). Well there is no defense for this 4) Marrone was highly regarded at the time. And he was willing to take the job in Buffalo. You may have wanted someone else, but that someone else would have needed to accept the job. The jury is still out on Marrone as far as I am concerned as well. But blaming Brandon for this makes no sense to me (at least right now).

The Fans can keep the Bills in Buffalo
CodeMonkey replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know that Roger made a statement recently about wanting to keep the Bills in Buffalo and that is a very good sign. But at the end of the day he will do whatever is best for the entire NFL and all of it's owners. As a very wise man, Mr. Spock, said ... “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” (or “the one”). The question is, will there be a white knight that will step in and allow the Bills to stay in Buffalo. -
How is your brothers arm and can he read defenses? I agree with most that Brandon is generally doing a good job and it was nice of him to go to the tailgate yesterday.

I see where you are going and appreciate the sentiment. However: 1) The taxable profit statement, though true while Mr. Wilson owned the Bills was due to the fact that he had no debt. Any new ownership paying upwards of a billion dollars for the team will almost certainly not be in the same situation. 2) As far as ticket prices go, who can afford to pay more and sellout easier, people in Buffalo or people in LA, San Antonio, etc.? 3) Suite sales are VERY tough in Buffalo due to the bad economy. That was one purpose of the Toronto experiment, to see if they could entice Toronto businesses to pony up for the suites. And as in number 2 above, do you think it would be easier and more profitable to sell the suites in Buffalo or a larger, considerably more affluent, and considerably more high end businesses area? To sum up, you will never ever be able to make a business case that has Buffalo being better than a large market. No matter how many "what if the fans sell out every game and pay $X more per ticket" scenarios you dream up. The only way the Bills stay in Buffalo, in my opinion, is for a white knight (or group of them) to step up and forgo business case in favor of the emotional case. -
Now THIS is an off season thread, wow.

Not sure about the others, but I believe Dallas has a standing room section which could be counted as higher attendance than seating capacity.
