  1. Actually, it really doesn't bare repeating.
  2. Ahhh i see. You might want to state that in the thread next time.
  3. I would have thought that as well, but 75 people voted for Orton which I found interesting. If being stupid was all it took to lock threads it would be very quiet here.
  4. I see it has been locked but whoever locked it did not post why. I didn't see that topic discussed in other threads, and I also did not see any name calling etc. either. I'm just wondering why it was locked?
  5. 16 games in 17 weeks ... the NFL season is a sprint.
  6. Wow 75 people so far want the question to linger of Manuel's ability to be a effective starting NFL QB. Either that or they have already decided he is a bust with very limited data to work with. Both are equally absurd to me, and I am far from believing Manuel has what it takes.
  7. What?!?!? Did you sleep through last season where every time he fought for extra yards he missed the next several games??? He is a QB not a RB. He needs to get what he can get then slide or get out of bounds. Manuel SUCKED today to be sure. But putting his head down and/or fighting for extra yards for a QB is flat out stupid and the best way to lose not just games, but seasons.
  8. Really not a big surprise. The Bills defense was able to win the first two games, but they could not against Rivers. This game the Bills needed Manuel to be more than a game manager, and he was not even close to being up to the task. This may be the recipe for this season anyway. If the Bills D can dominate, the Bills have a very good chance of winning. If they cannot, the Bills chances of winning become very poor. Hopefully Manuel will become a good NFL QB and will be able to win some games. Based on his collegiate career and his NFL career to date, I tend to doubt it. But hopefully the brain trust saw something in Manuel that will make me change my mind.
  9. Of course there is, in the mind of a businessperson.
  10. ESPN straight up: 8 take the Bolts and 5 take the Bills. Their computer program takes the Bolts. That software is tied for second place so far for the season, 1 game out of first. CBS with Buffalo -2.5 spread: 6 take the Bolts and 2 take the Bills. CBS Straight up is the same, 6 Bolts 2 Bills. The CBS software picks the Bills straight up. It won last season and is in second place this season out of first by one. Mind you, most have picked the Bills opponents this season so far Nate Silvers calculations show the Bolts as the slight favorite. http://fivethirtyeig...d-playoff-odds/
  11. I know it's not common. Or at the very least it is not reported publicly often, who knows how often it actually happens. If the actual percentage is really that low then that would be the surprising thing to me.
  12. I'm still puzzled by the surprise of any of this. These guys excel at a game that is exceptionally violent. They were raised their entire lives to give their all to being the best they can possibly be at the exceptionally violent game. A lot are coddled their entire lives, given special privileges, and often treated as if they are above the law because they are good at a exceptionally violent game. Then society is surprised when this violence spills over into their off-field lives?
  13. Honestly there are probably more deserving people. Spiller was the beneficiary of outstanding blocking by the entire return squad. All Spiller had to do was run. I don't think he was ever touched. McLovin or any number of people (with decent speed) could have made that run. If an award is to be given for that return, then the entire return team deserves it IMO.
  14. At one point that was true. Today sponsors do what they think the people will want. A subtle but important distinction. They tend to react so quickly to things when they hit the media, particularly social media, that they don't have time for the people to tell them what they want before they react.
  15. I have to agree with The Dean here. While not a absolutely perfect throw, you can't ask any NFL QB to place it any better than Manuel did. If Manuel gets to the point that he is that accurate, particularly at that distance, the majority of the time the Bills are going to be very very difficult to beat.
  16. IMO, that big of a difference in the most important position on the team makes them a better team.
  17. Rivers vs Manuel is the obvious huge one. Rivers can win games. Manuel has learned how to be a game manager it seems, which is a big step forward, but win games? Not sure.
  18. If it were in SD, the Bolts all the way. But at the Ralph with a loud 12th man again, it's a coin toss. Will come down to a mistake or a great play by one of the teams. I kinda hope the Bills fall behind early to see if Hackett and Manuel can shift gears from game management to aggressive.
  19. When you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow.
  20. http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/orchard-park/car-break-ins-hit-and-runs-occupy-cops-at-bills-opener-20140915
  21. He is long enough removed he will have no more insight into the team than any other coach. I personally hope he has a great season, except this Sunday that is
  22. Well 22 if you subtract Spillers TD. And special teams really gets the credit for the points after the blocked punt as well.
