  1. I'm not thrilled about moving to a 34, but who would be our down linemen? Mario, Kyle, Marcel? Anderson to an OLB role? Mario to an OLB role? Wasn't Mario a bit frustrated with the Texan's move to the 34?
  2. Interesting responses on here. I'm not claiming I know any better about how Marrone will turn out, but I am very optimistic after watching his presser.
  3. Couldn't help myself. Stanford's football team is better (I know, only recently) to boot.
  4. I am fully on board with Shafer, but I don't think he'll be the choice. More 'nationally recognized for football' might be more accurate.
  5. I like several QBs from this draft, but I was curious about two things. 1. How many people are high on Zac Dysert? I think he has the potential to rocket up draft boards. 2. Am I the only one that is thinking that we should take two QBs fairly high (anywhere in rounds 1-4, a la Griffin and Cousins)?
  6. I'm a Shafer fan, but also a Stanford homer. I would be elated if we hired him.
  7. I wonder how the board will react if Lovie is not named DC.
  8. I won't change my tune like many do when we miss out on a candidate. I would have loved to have hired Chip. That being said, I am honestly floored that he chose the Browns. I expected him to go to a more "glamorous" team. Buffalo has a better roster and is a nicer town. Have you guys been to both cities? I guess now my list goes: (a) McCoy (b) Lovie
  9. I'm also baffled as to why Cleveland is being talked about as a more attractive landing spot than Buffalo.
  10. Bill said that. Obama has been very straightforward about his younger years, although it's not as politically risky as it was in the early 90s.
  11. I'm surprised there are so many against hiring Chip Kelly. We're all entitled to our own opinions and strong arguments have been provided on both sides, but put me in the "hire Chip" camp. I think it would bring a ton of energy to the team with a great mind at the helm. There's no way to know how any coach will turn out, but I'd be much more optimistic with Chip than with one of the many previous NFL head coaches (except for Cowher, etc). I'm sorry, but I do not think he has less than UCLA, UA, A State, or Cal. That being said, I think he's a fantastic football coach, and I would love to hire him. -a Stanford fan
  12. I am high on Zac Dysert from Miami (OH), and he'll be available in round 2 or maybe 3. Projected mid-round pick now, but his stock will shoot up imo.
  13. Corner is a tough position for rookies. I think he's doing pretty well for being our #1, and I expect him to get better with time.
  14. I don't think Shaw will leave us. Stanford is one of the most respected programs in the country, is recruiting very well, and has won the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup 18 years in a row. It's also in the Bay Area. I just don't see it at this point.
