This is why we need a good GM first and foremost. As somone else said, ever "good" coach has had the benefit of a good front office. You can't win many games without also winning the talent battle.

I agree. Keep Fewell, get a top GM. Much more important. Spending the 10 mill on a GM and solid cordinators makes more sense.

Hargrove was give more than a "second" or "third" chance. The point here is not about allowing someone to redeem themselves. Rather, it is about someone who was obviously unrepentant for his actions. It is only through punishment that individuals are sometimes able to grasp the severity of their actions. The problem with your feel-good liberalism is that there never is any punishment beyond a slap on the wrist, thus those committing wrongs never fully grasp just how "wrong" their wrong is. You can't begin to rehab someone before they realize they have committed a wrong.

The Steelers practise outside. I used to live down the street from the facilities . They only go indoors to lift weights, etc. Or if they need to work plays in private.

Dwight Freeny had about 13 sacks his rookie year. A bust is someone who does not live up to their draft position. Maybin has not. He may be "solid" someday, but not worth the #11 pick.
