  1. I will be there. Officially listed as questionable on the pregame festivities front given the early tip and tonight's drinking. Might check out that Xfinity place after the game though.

Heard that loads of Cuse fans will also be at the Broad Street Bullies Pub inside that Xfinity Complex.

  2. If he wasn't on the bus then it is highly unlikely that he will play. Bummer

I was told that there are several incidences in which student athletes on "short-term" or "pending" suspensions do not travel with the team, and still manage to play. One specific example, albeit it happened some time ago, involved Billy Owens. He, along with several other players, received some disciplinary action during his sophomore year. He was not with the team on the flight to South Bend to play the Irish, but miraculously was cleared and started the game the following day. It was assumed that the "disciplinary committee" made a decision at the 11th hour, and Billy was flown to Notre Dame.

Like I said...still crossing my fingers.

My buddy is a news anchor in Syracuse... he just replied to my Facebook post to keep him informed so he can report it out... :-)

I decided not to give him the flatulence rumor...

I'll keep you updated if I hear anything. lol...your buddy probably already knows about the flatulence thing if he covers Cuse basketball. I hear interviews with Southy can be excruciating.

  3. I put it on Facebook & twitter...I emphasized 'unconfirmed' and 'could be' at full strength...fingers crossed...

I just texted my person to get an update, and they told me that Southy did not board the team bus to Philadelphia this afternoon. Said there may have been a "snag." This does not necessarily mean that he isn't going to play tomorrow, but it certainly isn't encouraging news. Sorry if I jumped the gun on this one, but I still have my fingers crossed

BTW...did anybody know that Southerland has a severe problem with flatulence? Just found this out today....pretty funny.

  4. I would love to know who your "sources" are because you are normally spot on with Cuse bball news

If I told you the I would have to kill you, and I don't want to do that

Let's just say I know someone who is employed by the university within the athletic department. This individual keeps me up to date on all the "happenings" on the hill. This person told me that there is a good likelihood that Southy's problems will be resolved (or have been...they weren't specific), and that he will be available for Nova tomorrow. Now, mind you, I was told that this is a likely scenario....by no means a definite.

I will do my best to continue to share my "inside information" with the good folks at TBD, but if something proves to be false or only partially accurate, please be easy on the messenger :)

  5. anyone from this board going to the nova game tomorrow(saturday)? I am gonna go down there and try and get tickets...i would imagine the Syracuse Alumni will hold a pre-game party at xfinity or mcfaddens before hand. should be a good time filled with SU fans...let me know and we can meet up

Not going to the game, but I have a friend making the trip over from DC for the game. He said there is a consortium of Cuse fans pre-post gaming at McFadden's. Also, FWIW I'm hearing rumors that Southerland will be reinstated for tomorrow's game. I don't have a link....just the word around the campfire ;)

  6. I couldn't disagree more. I think there are several first round talent QB's coming out. And I think this years second tear is far and above last years. Osweiler, Wilson, Moore, Weeden, Cousins, Foles, Tannehill, Keenum don't compare IMO to this years guys.

The problem is, I don't see a clear distinction between the first and second "tier" QB's in this draft. Is it Geno and then everyone else? With this class I see a bunch of 2nd - 3rd round guys who will be picked way too early because there is always a premium on drafting QB's.

  7. At one point I thought it would be a good idea. The more I study these QBs, I think taking one in the 3rd-5th is the best idea. I don't think any of these guys have a chance to be franchise QBs. Load up on LBs and other skill positions and take a flyer on Dysert or Manuel (if he's there) in round 3 or 4. Next years QBs have much more potential. I'm sure the majority disagree with this and that's ok ;)

My better judgement tells me that waiting until the 2nd or 3rd round might be the best course of action, given the questionable talent in this QB class. My heart tells me, however, that we need to take the best QB available at #8 (Wilson, Glennon, Nassib), or move up for the guy we want (Geno). Honestly, the prospect of enduring another season of Fitz makes me want to puke

  8. Thanks...after a glimpse of that I had to go click on my real NSFW site for a few minutes to get my equalibrium back.

    :w00t:

Must have been ridden hard when she was young.

I noticed the little girl in the shopping cart. Either this sasquatch is grandma or mom (I suspect grandma). In any event, someone had to "lie down" with this woman in the past

  9. 1) Supposedly, Grant--only a few weeks ago--couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. He has worked like crazy with Autry to develop a shot. Now the guy is a legit offensive weapon. Lot of guts also taking that last shot--which I thought was a good take, albeit a miss.

    2) Totally concur on Triche. You could see him just will that team to a win. What once was the inconsistent, disappearing Triche, is now the steady senior.

If we can beat Louisville away and then follow it up with a nice win against Cincy, this team--with all its flaws and missing JS-- can still beat anyone. Kind of amazing when you think about it.

I've been saying for a while now that Grant reminds me a lot of Hak Warrick. Once he really gets his game under control, I suspect that we will be seeing some highlight reel dunks from him. I love the way he gets up for rebounds too...seems like he gets 2-3 feet above the rim sometimes. He is going to be a scary, scary player for opposing teams to defend. Especially if he develops an outside shot. Hey..if they can teach Kueth Duany to hit 3 pointers, they definitely can coach up Grant. Love this kid.

  10. From what I've seen from the north QB thusfar, I'd have to go with Nassib. I just saw throwing drills, but Nassib's footwork, throwing motion, and zip on the ball are head and shoulders above Glennon and Dysert (BTW...Dysert has looked very average IMO). I haven't seen any of the south team QB's yet, but I heard that Landry Jones has impressed the most and Tyler Wilson has looked rather pedestrian. FWIW...one NFLN commentator (I forget his name) said that Landry Jones has outperformed ALL of the QB's at the Senior Bowl thusfar.

Similar to previous posters, I too am a bit miffed that Geno isn't participating this week, and I'm anxious to see if he has "the onions" to throw at the combine.

  11. That is what I was thinking: Got heated garage? If so, maybe not go all out... But bucket wash that area in the garage. I don't think egg is good for the paint?

Yeah, we have a 1 car heated garage. I let my wife have the garage during the winter time, but I'm thinking she might let me borrow it for an afternoon so I can wash the egg off my car. The one that nailed my right side-view mirrow is going to be a b**chbag. It splattered and some get in behind the mirror.

I saw the kids get back into their car after they did it (they also did a number on the house across the street). It was an old Toyota Corolla (probably early 90's), and very distinguished. Dark color...I think black, with a red trunk. If I spot this car about town I'm going to do my best to scare the crap out of the kid driving it. Have to be careful here in Alaska though because just about everyone is carrying a gun.

  12. Ugly win today versus Cincinnati, but I'll take it. I think Cinci is much better than most people think, and pulling out a tough win 2 days after beating Louisville in an emotionally charged game is positive IMO. Another good game for Brandon Triche, MCW makes up for reckless play by making some big plays down the stretch, and Jerami Grant continues to impress me. I'm not exactly holding my breath waiting for Southy to come back.
