  1. I have been down on MCW with his turnovers and hesitation to just take his shot or take it to the basket, he looked bad and scared in the first half. The 2nd he was great on both ends great finish. I hope this will give him some confidence going forward. They showed toughness in that game and these young guys are getting these minutes.

I don't know if you noticed, but JB had Triche running the offense for much of the 2nd half. MCW was playing off ball running of screens and such. I thought it was a brilliant coaching move by Boeheim. It took the pressure off of MCW, and allowed him to just play. I feel that part of MCW's problems this season have been because he feels that he has to do EVERYTHING.

    Great win on the road.

  2. Yeah, he'd be pretty hard to pass up at #8.

Another scenario might have the Bills' war room phone ringing off the hook with offers from other teams to move up for Jones. I wouldn't mind moving back 4-5 spots, picking up a couple draft picks, and then selecting our QB. I will admit, however, that reports about Jones' work ethic worry me. You can get by like that in the NCAA's, but it will be an entirely different story in the NFL. How many players with freakish athletic abilities and poor work ethics have we seen underperform in the NFL?

Admittedly, I don't know much about Jones' work ethic...just going off what the scouts are saying.

  3. 1. Quarterback....I don't care who it is, whether it's Nassib, Glennon, Tyler Wilson, or whoever they think can lead this team the best. Go get your QB!!

    2. Chase Thomas OLB Stanford....The guy makes plays, good size and strength at 6'4 245, above average coverage ability, sheds blocks, and plays fast!!

    3. Best wide receiver on the board.

    4-7. Depth

Chase Thomas is one of my favorite LB's in this class. He plays with such intensity and speed...reminds me of Clay Matthews.

  4. I don't know the specific players in the draft so I can't comment on what players I would like but I would like to see the Bills get a prime WR at pick 8, and then go grab a impact LB in round 2, and use their third rounder to trade for Matt Flynn to solve their QB situation.

Any QB needs better weapons and our D needs Linebackers, and I am not sold on this QB class so out of all the free agent/trade possibilities I like Flynn the best. In free agency we can shop to further fill out the LB position and fill out the roster.

I don't know that there is a WR worth drafting at 8....anyone know of any? Seemingly, the highest rated WR on most people's draft boards is Keenan Allen from Cal.

  5. First of all...welcome to the board!! While I might not agree with your choices, I certainly commend you for mocking the entire 1st round (not just the Bills' picks).

    1. I don't like Manti Te'O in the 1st round, and I think that there may be 2-3 LB's who are better than him in this draft. If we do go linebacker in the 1st I'd prefer Alec Ogletree from Georgia (watch tape of Georgia/Bama to see how a real LB plays against elite competition).

    2. I would absolutely cream my shorts if Nassib made it to our pick in round 2. I highly suspect that he will go in the late 1st.

    3. Mathieu certainly is intriguing, but he is a high risk/high reward type of player. I wouldn't risk a 3rd rounder on him, but would definitely take a shot at him if he were there in the 5th. Also, he certainly doesn't "fit the mold" with regard to the type of player this regime has been known to draft.

    4. I really like the Kenny Stills pick in round 4.

    5. Collin Klein? You say why not, but I say why? I'd rather draft a kicker who can hit FG's from more than 40 yards out.

  6. Made chicken button-it for dinner tonight....basically sautee some chicken and throw in just about anything I can dig out of the veggie drawer (banana pepper rings are a must). When the wife and son ask what's for dinner, I yell "CHICKEN....BUTTON IT!!" I enjoy myself B-)

  7. Possble reason why Southy is on the bench? Notre Dame Prep (Southerland's prep school) under investigation by the NCAA. Might be a stretch, but interesting...

The NCAA is conducting a wide-ranging investigation into Notre Dame Preparatory School just weeks after declaring two Class of 2012 basketball recruits from the school academically ineligible to play college ball this year, Yahoo! Sports has learned.
  8. Do you have a sense as to whether this is just an academic issue? Such a shame. I have been a JS supporter from the moment he stepped onto campus, and this was finally his time to shine.

btw, I can see him catching onto an NBA squad, especially if he can bulk up a little bit.

From what I can gather, most folks seem to think that this is a minor academic infraction like a missing assignment/incomplete class form the fall semester. If this is true, Southy is likely to miss a few more games while he takes care of his business and goes through the appeals process. This is best case scenario. There are those out there who suspect that there may be something greater involved...like violation of school rules or some kind of violation surfacing from his prep school days. It is encouraging, however, that we haven't seen his name in the police blotter and that he was on the bench (in street clothes) for the Nova game.

JB said "I am hopeful" that he returns soon. This to me is slightly encouraging, as JB is usually pretty tight-lipped about these things. Typically, he would say something to the effect of "I can't discuss the details of that situation at this time." I'm kinda grasping at straws here....really want Southy to come back.
