  1. Just announced...2014 5 star SF commit Chris McCullough will not re-classify to 2013. This is actually good news IMO, and bodes well for our chances to land Dakari Johnson. Dakari is a 2013 5 star C coming out of NYC. Has been recruited by Adrian Autry since middle school. He just narrowed down his list to SU, Georgetown, and Kentucky. He will likely wait until spring to make his decision, and SU's chances will hinge greatly on who declares for the NBA draft.

IMO....if MCW and either Christmas or Coleman leave....we will have a really good chance at landing him.

  2. Tough one, but I'd go with Stafford here. Safer bet given that the game will be played in a dome, and I think this one will be a shoot out. Stafford will be forced to air it out to keep up with the Falcon's offense.

That Giants/Ravens game (depending on the weather) could very well be a "ground and pound" affair.

  3. Just watched footage of Glennon vs. Florida State and he looked very mediocre to me. He certainly can sling the ball around, but his footwork (and subsequently) his accuracy were very inconsistent. I think watching game film versus good defenses is a good measuring stick, but after watching this tape I say pass on this kid. Yes, NC State did win the game, and Glennon did throw 2 TD passes (1 int - 54% completion), but his play was very erratic.

IMO....Glennon would need a lot of polish at the next level.

  4. I like this but is switch lb to rd 1 and get a QB like Nassib round 2. I would like an rb or second lb, but with 6 draft picks its tough to get it all.

I like Nassib, and wouldn't be opposed to going LB in round one. However, I don't see any LB's (including Manti Te'O) that would worth drafting in the top 10. If we win another game, however, and are picking in the middle of the round, I would be happy with CJ Mosley (who I think would be a great OLB for us) and then Nassib in the 2nd.

  5. *no ppr

    Name/Opponent/Projected

    QB Pick 1

    Cam v. Oak (23.21)

    Big Ben v. Cinci (18)

    RB Pick 2

    Trent Richardson @Den (12.73)

    Danny Woodhead @Jax (7.45)

    Ahmad Bradshaw @Bal (10.63)

    Vick Ballard @KC (9.29)

    WR Pick 3

    Colston @Dal (10.3)

    Lance Moore @Dal (8.42)

    Boldin v. NYG (8.92)

    Rod Streater @Car (3.4)

    Brian Hartline v. Buf (8.08)

    Donnie Avery @KC (5.89)

    1. Cam is a no brainer.

    2. Bradshaw if he plays, but he didn't practice today so that's looking more and more unlikely. If he doesn't, I'd go with Richardson and Ballard. Richardson has a very poor matchup, but has a knack for finding the end zone (he better than your other options). I went with Ballard because of the great matchup versus KC. Woodhead is a close second, but there are so many "mouths to feed" in NE, you never know who is going to get the touches.

    3. This is a tough one. Those Dallas CB's are lock-down.....especially Brandon Carr who will likely be in Colston's hip pocket. Tough call here, but I'd go with Boldin, Hartline, and Avery (purely because of the match-ups there).

    Good luck!!

  6. QB: P. Manning or M. Stafford - gonna ride Manning as I have all year

RB: Forte and Sproles (could start 3 if I had one worth starting in my flex) - PPr league and my only other backs are Bradshaw (likely out) and Bush (handcuff for forte)

WR: My tough decision is at wr. Since I am down on rbs (injuried hit me hard here) I have to start at least 2 and up to 3 wrs my list:

    M. Wallace and Megatron - get the starting nod but my choice for #3 is muddy at best

    Steve Smith Car vs. Oak

    Josh Gordon Cle vs. Pitt

    TY Hilton Ind vs. KC

    J. Jones GB vs Indy

    A. Boldin Balt vs. NYG

so many good options. I'm ruling out Hilton and Gordon bc I don't care for the matchup with Gordon and Hilton is #3. So Smith, Jones or Boldin?

edit: Apparently Deangelo Williams is available and although I hate him if Stewart is out I may want to go that route. What do you say?

Personally, I'd go with Steve Smith over the other options....I'd give him a slight edge over Jones, but Jones is so inconsistent it makes me furious. DeAngelo Williams is also intriguing....I might just start him in my flex spot if I were you. If Stewart's out, and it looks like he will be, then he's going to get a lot of touches on Sunday. Love Williams this week....especially in PPR formats.

  7. never ever play Deangelo williams!!!! You look pretty set but it sucks to have your rb against your d. Good Luck! I'm also in the championship of my keeper league and offered a split to the other team but one manager didn't want it. He's a notorious whiner so I hope I destroy him to be able to rub it in his face. Reality is though he was the points leader and his team is sick. I hope Gronk comes back for you bc Hernandez has been killin it for him with Gronk out.

Really? I'm interested in your logic here. With Jonathan Stewart out, Williams has been an absolute beast in the past two weeks.

I would have to get DeAngelo in there somehow maybe over Doug Martin. Also would consider Reggie Wayne against that terrible KC over VJ. Not easy decisions though.

I was thinking DeAngelo over Trent Richardson. Martin has a favorable matchup over the 22nd ranked St. Louis rush defense, while Trent has a horrible matchup versus that Denver defense on the road. Denver hasn't allowed over 70 rushing yards or a TD in the past 3 weeks. I also was thinking Reggie Wayne over V-Jax.

He's been beasting lately and has a great matchup. I don't know about Doug Martin but I would consider getting him some action maybe over Richardson. Richardson finds the endzone but if he doesn't he would have been busting (fantasy wise) long ago...Denver has a pretty good D....etc...

Agreed on all accounts....I think the biggest decision is going to be V-Jax or Wayne. It seems that every time I bench V-Jax he absolutely goes off, so I'm a bit cautious about that.

Thanks for all the helpful input y'all. With RG-III now predicted to start this week, what do you all think about him over Cam? Both have GREAT matchups but I'm nervous that RG-III might tweak his knee and be yanked early in the game (especially with their perceived confidence in Cousins). I think I might just play it safe and stick with Cam.

  8. Random JH thought of the day...

Last night I gave my 3 year old son some of those baby corns with his dinner. You know...the ones you see in Chinese food? I thought he would think they were really neat since he LOVES corn on the cob. Well, come to find out, he was less than impressed. In fact, he refused to even try one! What's wrong with kids today? Part of me wants to blame it on those damned Leapfrog games.

  9. Also, it is rumored that the university "invited" the authorities to investigate Springfield. Some speculation that the investigation is related to some type of financial scandal. Sorry...don't have a link. I guess we'll all have to wait to see what floats to the surface.

  10. Looks like a non-story until details emerge. Just says he's being investigated by Syracuse police and the District Attorney's office. There's no specific mention to any crime as of yet. In any event, any charges/convictions likely wouldn't affect any Syracuse athletic programs. Just a shame that Syracuse University is getting dragged through the media-muck once again.

  11. So, I narrowly squeaked out a win last week despite a mediocre showing by my RB1, Doug Martin. I have my line-up tentatively set, but there are some difficult matchups (Trent Richardson vs Denver & V-Jax vs St. Louis for example). Here is my current line-up with bench players. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....some BIG bucks on the line here.

    *Non PPR league

    QB: Cam Newton (OAK)

    RB: Doug Martin (STL)

    RB: Alfred Morris (@PHI)

    RB/WR: Trent Richardson (@DEN)

    WR: Brandon Marshall (@ARI)

    WR: Vincent Jackson (STL)

    TE: Tony Gonzalez (@DET)

    D/ST: Denver (CLE)

    K: Matt Bryant (@DET)

    Bench:

RG-III (@PHI) - not sure about his status for this week.

Rob Gronkowski (@JAX) - not sure about his status yet.

    Hakeem Nicks (@BAL)

    Reggie Wayne (@KC)

    Mikel Leshoure (ATL)

DeAngelo Williams (OAK) - Could be big again this week if Jonathan Stewart is inactive again.

Cecil Shorts (NE) - Could have big game against porous NE secondary.

    What do y'all think?

  12. In order of priority...QB, OLB, WR, SS, CB, C

If the Bills were to draft just by need....I would like to see it go something like this...

    1. Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas (Geno's gone, and IMO he's the next best thing).

    2. Chase Thomas OLB Stanford (Would help to solidify the LB corps for years...built in the mold of Clay Matthews).

    3. Cordarelle Patterson WR Tennessee (Great size, speed, playmaking ability).

    4. Josh Evans SS Florida (Solid all-around safety...good in both run a pass defense).

    5. Tyrann Mathieu FS/CB LSU (Many draft "pundits" have him falling to round 4-6 due to character issues....why not take a chance if he does?).

    6. Jonotthan Harrison C Florida (Held up well against quality competition, good size, has played both guard and center).

  13. At first I was intrigued by Glennon. After further review, I'll pass. His YPA is pedestrian even though he throws downfield a lot, he can't move at all, and he throws far too many picks. No thanks.

Nix has hinted at moving in the draft to get his franchise QB and I believe him. The Bills plan this offseason is to make Fitzpatrick out to be the fall guy. I see the Bills trading a ton of picks to get Geno Smith. I'm all for that. Geno is a stud.

If the other team doesn't want to play ball, then they might take Glennon.

I like Glennon, but at this time, I would not draft him early in the 1st round. I would much prefer a QB with some semblance of athleticism. At least have the ability to scamper 5 or 6 yards for a 1st down. Glennon is a statue. His pocket awareness is developing, but he still looks kind of goofy and disoriented when under pressure. That being said, however, you have to appreciate the kid's ability as a passer. He has a nice delivery, his throws seem to have some zip on them allowing him to throw the ball into tight windows, and his passes are pretty accurate (although somewhat inconsistent).

If the "master plan" is to draft a QB, let him sit for a year behind Fitz to develop, and then eventually rely on him as the starter....this might be the right pick. If they're looking for a week 1 starter for 2013, then both Geno Smith or Tyler Wilson are better options IMO.

  14. Thanks for passing along. Presumably two practice squadders will be promoted to fill the spots.

Too bad Easley's hurt. He's made some nice plays on special teams, and with Jones out & the season over, it's a perfect time to start him (along w/ Stevie and Russell Wilson T.Y. Hilton Chris Givens T.J. Graham) and see what he can do. Then again, given Chan's comments this week, it sounds like he has zero interest in developing for the future and 100% interest in sticking with what he knows, to try to save his job.
