  1. how many teams are in this league.....your team is loaded

It's an 8 team league. I actually drafted really well hitting on RG-III, Alfred Morris, Doug Martin, and Reggie Wayne in the latter rounds. I think I drafted Wayne in like the 17th round or something...lol. There is a lot of money on the line ($100 buy-in and $1 per transaction), and I currently sit in 1st place one game ahead of two other teams. If I lose this week I could end up the 3rd seed in the playoffs because the tie-breaker is total points scored.

I'd be tempted to stick Reggie Wayne in and sit Vincent Jackson. Also, Tony Gonzalez > Heath Miller this week imo.

Every time I sit V-Jax he goes off, but I agree that Wayne is probably the smarter play this week given the opponent....might just make that change. My only reservation is that Wayne doesn't score many touchdowns. The Colts love to run the ball or sneak with Luck inside the 5 yard line.

  2. sounds exactly like the scouting report for Tom Brady coming out of college.

The 4 things you said about Murray sound exactly like what you would look for in someone you would be drafting especially in Rd 2-3

Oh, I would consider drafting Murray if he fell to the 3rd round. Big difference, by the way, between Murray and Brady is their arm strength/accuracy on deep routes. Murray is pretty decent in that regard for short/intermediate routes, but struggles somewhat with the deep ball. Brady can make ALL the throws with consistency.

  3. Would you play Gordon over any of the following:

    Frank Gore -rb- (vs Miami)

    Chris Johnson -rb- (@ Indianapolis)

    Wes Welker -wr- (vs Houston)

    Marques Colston -wr- (@NY Giants)

Nope...the only one I even pondered was Gore vs a pretty strong Miami rushing defense.....but no.

Browns are not available...my available options:

    Not available..only teams available:

    Bills (vs St Louis)

    Titans (@Indy)

    Lions (@Green Bay)

    Chiefs (@Cleveland)

    Saints (@NY Giants)

    Jaguars (vs NY Jets)

    Raiders (vs Denver)

Maybe give Buffalo D/ST a shot? I would consider it a toss-up between Cincinnati and Buffalo....a very slight lean toward Cincinnati if McKelvin doesn't play. Hell....for once go with your heart on this one.

  4. My current starting line-up...

QB: Robert Griffin III (vs BAL)

    RB: Trent Richardson (vs KC)

    RB: Doug Martin (vs PHI)

    RB/WR: Alfred Morris (vs BAL)

    WR: Brandon Marshall (@MIN)

    WR: Vincent Jackson (vs PHI)

    TE: Heath Miller (vs SD)

    D/ST: Broncos (@OAK)

    K: Matt Bryant (@CAR)

    Bench:

    Cam Newton (vs ATL)

    Hakeem Nicks (vs NO)

    Fred Jackson (vs STL)

    Tony Gonzalez (@CAR)

    Reggie Wayne (vs TEN)

    Mikel LeShoure (@GB)

I think I have my running backs pretty well set, but I'm undecided about my WR's and my TE. It's tough to sit any of my WR's on the bench. Any advice would be appreciated.

    **Edit: Non-PPR league

  5. Yeah...the Bills are available (the best of the available teams)...I was thinking along those lines as well...but I am always so hesitant to let my personal life (Bills) bleed into my business life (winning fat cash in FF!)....may reconsider...Bills always scare me, whenever I think I have them figured out, they do something to surprise me.

Consider the Browns D/ST....available in most leagues. Very favorable matchup against a horrible Chiefs offense this week. The Browns have quietly been playing some pretty good defense lately.

  6. My lineup:

    Definite starts:

    Cam Newton -qb- (vs Atl)

    Frank Gore -rb- (vs Miami)

    Chris Johnson -rb- (@ Indianapolis)

    Wes Welker -wr- (vs Houston)

    Marques Colston -wr- (@NY Giants)

    Jimmy Graham -te- (@NY Giants)

Jason Hanson -pk- (@ Green Bay)

    My question:

Who to play at FLEX position:

    Bryce Brown- rb- (@Tampa Bay)

    Michael Crabtree- wr- (vs Miami)

    Brian Hartline -wr- (@San Francisco)

Josh Gordon -wr- (vs Kansas City)

    Which defense:

    Houston (@New England)

    Cincinnati (@ Dallas)

As always, any input is appreciated!

I'd play Josh Gordon versus a VERY weak Chiefs secondary (no team has allowed more TD's to WR'ers this season). I wouldn't play Bryce Brown versus the #1 rushing defense in the NFL (currently allowing 82.3 YPG and have only allowed 988 total rushing yards on the season). I agree with playing Cincinnati D/ST over New England.

  7. Weird, I thought he looked the opposite of scared, like he's trying too hard to bust out of a slump. Maybe he'll play a bit more naturally now after making a few shots.

I'm hoping that you're right. Gerry McNamara was quoted as saying that Cooney is the best pure shooter he had ever seen. I guess I was just expecting the guy to be hitting 5-6 three pointers per game. I have high hopes for Cooney....he at least looked really active defensively at the top of that zone.

  8. anyone see that drive to the hoop by Cooney last night???? holy cow! and what a game from Jeramy Grant and Coleman as well...slow start, but they started clicking big time. Nice to DaShonte having a decent game as well.

I missed that play by Cooney.....but from what I saw he looked absolutely horrible out there. His shot was WAY off the mark for most of the game, and he kept turning the ball over. Is it just me, or does it look like he's playing scared out there? One positive to note is his defense...Cooney is really active at the top of the zone.

I really liked what I saw from Grant. Great defense, good ability to move without the ball and find openings in the defense, and that no-look dish to Coleman for the dunk was a thing of beauty. It looks like we are going to have quite a log-jam at the forward positions for the next couple years. Good problem to have

  9. Yes I have, and I am thinking that he goes in the late first round, or early econd. This, as you know, is early for a RT. Obviously, he's a kid. One with a GREAT work ethic. Did you see him screaming at the offense, and what they did after that?

Willie Anderson, Erik Williams and Bob Brown beg to differ.

You seem to watch blackers as much as me. Passing league or not, their will always be a place for a beast RT. Especially in Buffalo, where we play many games in the elements.

The combines will be interesting. The bench press numbers matter quite a bit for OTs imo. Bell was/is agile, but he did 9 reps. That turned out to be all we needed to know. If this kid has Glenn type numbers, he will be dngerous for many years.

And btw, he probably isn't the best blocker on the team. They are stacked on that OL in a way that I for one have never seen.

You are wrong BB. If they think he will be a star qb they should draft him, and I will support the pick. If they take a corner in the first round, it will be devastating for this franchise. Absolutely devastating.

Depending on where we pick, considering the drop-off after Geno Smith, CB might be the BPA at a position of need....that's right....I said position of need. Dee Milliner will be a household name around here.

  10. Yes but their lack of inside game will catch up with them tournament time.

I think DC's offensive game will grow by leaps and bounds as the season progresses. I like what I see from him already with regard to his defense and his aggressiveness. He just needs more game experience to build his confidence. I will agree though...our bigs are good defenders/shot blockers/rebounders, but they are lacking offensive skills.

  11. Nothing about Murray screams to me NFL franchise QB. I've watched a lot of Georgia games this year, and while he has had some success in the NCAA's, the kid looks like Colt McCoy Jr. to me. Good guy, tough, gritty, solid fundamentals, but absolutely nothing special about this guy.
