It can't be anything earth shattering. Maybe he saved a lot of money on his car insurance by switching to Geico?

Unbelievable that a solid hand like Nelson is gone while this completely worthless player stays for twice the money.
I have a feeling they'll bring Nelson back on the cheap. He's been on the market for a while now, and to my knowledge, hasn't garnered any interest.

As much as I would love to see Brad Smith released, we simply can't afford to lose any more WR's until we start replacing them.

Hopefully our Thursday night game will be at home.

Seriously, now...schizophrenic behavior is more random. As Adam's describing it, the behavior is more coherent, just inappropriate.
Adam, under the DSM IV criteria it would probably be an affective disorder. I don't know of a specific diagnosis limited to "conflict seeking" or "conflict creating," but it [could be considered a symptom of either narcissistic personality disorder or - far more likely - borderline personality disorder.
That's actually what I was getting at...just seeking more information from the OP. Sounds more like a personalty disorder to me, but it was not clear if there were elements of dissociation.
-
Sounds like paranoid schizophrenia. Is the individual in touch with reality otherwise?

"Throw a dart at the rulebook" leads me to believe recruiting isn't off the table,
Rumor has it, to lure DC2 away from Kentucky, Syracuse boosters showered him with gifts including a gently used Geo Metro, and a cubic zirconia encrusted Fossil watch. This is sure to come out in the investigations.

The top tight ends are gone. Seems like the Bills didn't even make a play for one. If they don't get Moore to play guard, not sure what's left.
I saw yesterday on NFLN that Brandon Moore was visiting the Dolphins. I can't believe the Bills aren't after this guy. They could probably have him for cheap....comparable to what they paid Urbik.
I feel the opposite. Draft pure BPA- we have so many missing pieces that any position we get will fill a hole. Then post draft, we can grab cheap FAs for whatever positions we still need.
This may be the case, and it would be wonderful if this worked out, but I'd feel much better if they were a little more proactive with positions of great need (i.e., LB, WR).

St. Mary's looked really good last night. Very fundamentally sound, good shooting team. Watch out Memphis!

Jim Boeheim press conference tonight at 7:30 ET on SNY....looks like it's just a standard pre-tourney presser though.

No, nothing to do with the deadspin article at all. Something a friend who's at the BET texted me today about the eligibility of 2 players. This guy's "tips" have been spot on (he told me about the FIne story hours before the media reported it), FWIW.
Also, and this is really bad news IMO, but the rumor is that Hopkins is heading west. I don't know if he's destined to be a great coach, but he is a great recruiter.
I haven't heard anything concrete about former players being implicated, but the rumor is that 2 players will be ruled ineligible for the NCAAs sometime before next Thursday.
Bills44...heard any more info on this situation? I haven't heard any whispers from my "sources," and I was wondering if you had any updates to share.

Geno Smith isnt getting past jags, raiders, browns and cards. I doubt Barkley will be available at 8 either. EJ Manuel in the 2nd is the likely option.
Manuel won't be there at #41 IMO. In fact, I'm willing to be my third nut that he goes in the top 20.
-
Don't yell at me, but I could definitely see a scenario where Smith is gone and the Bills aren't able to trade back in the 1st (in the hopes of targeting Manuel) in the range of #18-24. Just giving fair warning that Manuel could be drafted at #8. It will be a tough pill to swallow, but they are a very QB desperate team and can't just sit and hope no one picks Manuel before #41. What the Seahawks and Redskins did last year could have an effect on what the Bills do. They could be spooked enough not to fool around and pick the QB they want at #8 even if he's rated 20 spots lower.
HOW DARE YOU SIR!!!!!!!
I wouldn't be completely shocked or disappointed if they "reached" for Manuel at #8. After all, Mike Mayock (who I respect tremendously) has Manuel as his #2 QB prospect after Geno Smith. IMO...Manuel has the highest upside of any of the QB's in this draft, and would do well in Hackett's offense. Manuel would allow much more offensive versatility than Barkley or Nassib.
I do, however, think you are undervaluing Matt Barkley. Given time to throw the ball, IMO, he is one of the best pure passers in this draft. Four year starter who is familiar running a pro-style offense. I think he will be a top 10 pick.
-
If Geno Smith and Barkley are off the board at #8, I think Manuel in the 2nd round would be a great pick.
Personally, I would love to get a dominant OL in the 1st round (i.e., Eric Fisher/Lane Johnson/Warmack), EJ Manuel in the 2nd round, and maybe a WR in the 3rd round (Quinton Patton/Ryan Swope). Then go defense the rest of the way unless a good TE slides to the 4th.

I bought a cheap-o charcoal grill from Walmart about 3 years ago, and I can't even remember the name of it. I think I spent like $45 dollars on it here in Alaska, so it would be like $35 in the lower 48. I do a lot of grilling (2-3 times/week), and this thing has held up just fine...even in the arctic winter conditions. Steaks, Ribs, Chicken....whatever. You don't need to spend a ton of money to get a decent grill. If this one breaks, I'll just spend $45 bucks on a brand spankin new one.
Boom!

The Avett Brothers are amazing, saw them several times while I was living in Charlotte. Their most recent albums, while still good, are definitely different from their earlier works. Almost like they have abandoned some of their country roots, and are now trying to appeal more to the masses. It seemed to me that their style began to sway in 2007 when Rick Rubin (co-president of Columbia Records) began producing their albums.
Mignonette (2004) is one of my favorite albums, and one of my favorite tunes on the album is Swept Away (sentimental version). It was Mr. and Mrs. Hammersticks' first dance song at our wedding, and everyone loved the song, even though no one knew who the hell it was. Still makes me misty-eyed to hear that tune

I would not at all be opposed to the scenario you proposed, however, I'm not sure how realistic this would be. Certainly moving back to the 13-18 range, and picking up a 2nd round pick (and maybe even a late-round pick) seems feasible. I don't know about the value of your second proposed move. I think our best chance of seeing a trade-back scenario is if both Geno Smith and Matt Barkley are off the board at #8.

20 degrees and brilliantly sunny here in Fairbanks. Wife's slow-cooking a pork shoulder to make BBQ pulled pork for dinner. Home made cole slaw and jalapeno corn bread on the side. Headed out to the store to get some beers here in a bit. Life is good

Fair enough.
If I had to write a narrative, you could say the decided even if something might come down they want to go out in a blaze of glory. They also might think its uncertain so why quit if they may still have a chance. Or the old "we can't win but we sure as hell aren't going to let THEM win"
Or maybe there's really no smoke or fire in the program and its just fan rumors
Just hard to project.
Definitely hard to project.
I've been thinking a lot about how this team has looked lately...mostly the intensity and grit they've been playing with in the BET. This made me suspect that maybe they do know something...maybe they know this is the "last hurrah" before the suspensions come down and the fold in the NCAA's. They I started thinking, what if the rumors aren't true, and in typical Syracuse fashion, they are just playing their hearts out in their home away from home...Madison Square Garden.
FWIW...I contacted a person I know who works within the athletic department at SU. This person usually has "the skinny" on what's going on with the basketball program. Told me about several b-ball recruit committs (i.e., Tyler Roberson) before they were announced, told me about the Melo suspension last year before it went public, etc...
This person told me that they had no knowledge of impending suspensions, or that JB was retiring after this season. They did say, however, that Mike Hopkins could very well be headed west for a HC job. Doesn't mean that the rumors are false....just that this person has no knowledge of any pending suspensions/investigations.
Take it for what it's worth. This person has been wrong/inaccurate before, but usually is pretty reliable for information.

How about the fact that he had Brady throwing to him? Also, how can you say Lloyd is definitively better than Heyward Bey when Bey has had the likes of Campbell, Gradkowski and Palmer throwing to him? Please, as if being younger and more physically talented is null because of his lack of production when hes been on the Raiders.
What has Heyward-Bey done in the NFL? He's a track star who happens to play football...nothing more. H-B is known to be a terrible route runner, and consistently drops the ball. I'd much rather have Lloyd, who has produced a 1,000 yard season as recently as 2012, than bring in a worthless, one-dimensional player like Heyward-Bey.
Besides, we already have Heyward-Bey on the squad....his name is TJ Graham.
-
Id rather have Heyward Bey honesty.
I seem to recall folks on TSW clamoring for Lloyd in 2012. Wonder what would have happened over the course of a season that would have dimished his value so much?
74 receptions, 911 yards, and 4 TD's during the 2012 regular season? In the Patriots offense with 6-7 other legitimate receiving threats to throw the ball to?
Yeah, I'd much rather have Darius Heyward-Bey
Brad Smith and releasing him to get cap room to sign a FA receiver

May I ask why?
He's not a QB, he not a very good WR, he's not really good in the wildcat because he's no threat to throw the football, and he's not even really a good kickoff return guy. Granted, he has a knack for converting on 3rd and short, but 3.75 million for that? Please enlighten me.
