  1. Well of course he has to be considering us. Very few teams play the system Pisa is suited for than the number get whittled down by the availability of starting jobs in those systems. Pisa wants too much money thats why the Bills haven't signed him. I would offer him somewhere around 2.8-3.3 million a year. It sounds like he wants 4 or 5 million a year.

I still think he will be a Bill. He will make a round of visits to a few teams and the offers he will get will be no where near what he expects and lower than what the Bills have offered. He will go back to Buffalo and sign the offer for around three million a year. It just sounds like he is misreading the market and thinks the Bills are offering him leverage to get bigger money with a better team but the Bills are the ones who have the leverage here.

  2. Good thought. But my guess is that the FO is thinking we're set an end--Schoebel is back, and we drafted Maybin to rush the passer. Kelsay and Denney are otherwise okay as back-ups or as run-stoppers.

Well Schobel is an injury concern and rookie pass rushers don't exactly light it up in their rookie year. As for Denney and Kelsay they are good backups but they are overpaid and not good at getting to the QB. So the front office may be looking at their DE situation with a little too much optimism

Burgess is an upgrade by a big margin who helps Maybin take on a lesser role and if the Bills had a good FO they would at least look into this. If Oakland wants a third or second than screw them but if they want a fourth or fifth you have to consider it. If they want a sixth or seventh than pull the trigger.

  3. Hardy showed nothing his rookie year. Very disappointing for a guy who basically was handed the #2WR spot in training camp. From what I hear the guy makes Leodis McKelvin look like a Rhodes scholar. Now he blew out his knee. He's toast.

I wouldn't give up on him yet I give him a limited role this year and see if he develops. They invested too much on him to just dump him in his second year. WR's take a long time to develop and if Hardy can show signs this year than I think he has a chance to be our #2 or 3 down the line not a great chance but a chance. Its just a possibility last year he was given too much too soon he may need to take a step back to take a step froward.

  4. Its O.k to be negative as long as you give valid reasons and evidence to project bad things. But this article was just childish and really unprofessional and not even in a fun way more in a mean trying to be cool but just sounding like a douche way. Hey if he came out and said TO is old, dropping passes, and causes problems in the locker room than that is a much more legitimate critique than Buffalo sux.

There are so many reasons to be concerned about the upcoming season. You could say things like TO's impact is going to be hinder by the fact that a completely revamped o-line ( which lost its best player ) is going to be protecting a injury ridden QB. There I just did his job better than him and I am just some guy on a message board.

  5. James Hardy has a lot less pressure on him this year than last year. Which is a good thing now the only question is what to do with him this year? IF we go no-huddle and 4 wide than who is our fourth wide is it Hardy or Parrish or Johnson. Is Hardy just a red zone and third down guy?

As for next year ( assuming TO leaves town ) what do we do about our number two wide receiver slot is Hardy or even Steve Johnson our guy or do we go into the draft or free agency ( Its an uncapped year so that becomes even more unlikely than it is in a capped year ).

For this year I see Hardy as a third down and Red Zone target let him get acclimated to those situations and have him learn a little from TO. The big problem with Hardy is that he doesn't have that tenacity and dominance of space that bigger guys who are not as fast have. TO has a lot of what Hardy needs to develop.

We need Hardy or Johnson to develop this year because we can't just have a big hole at wide receiver going into an uncapped year where our top few draft choices become so much more valuable. Simply put we need to have the answer on our roster now before we spend another second or first on a position that we should have been developing.

  6. No one should ever and I mean EVER TAKE SKIP BAYLAS SERIOUSLY. He is a world class tool who knows nothing about sports. I find him to be a dick and I don't reward him or ESPN because I change the channel when he is on and if I know he will be on something I will not watch it. Honestly who is a fan of Skip?

If you ever take the time to read God Save the Fan by Deadspin.com former editor Will Letich you will truly know why ESPN sucks and is hurting the fan and sports in general. Really a good read for any sports fan.

  7. I liked Kornhiser but only in limited doses after a while he just wore on the viewer hey let me make a good point and than B word non-stop about how much of a burden it was for him to go here and do a job I got paid to do and did it willingly. He had a few decent things to say but nothing that will be greatly missed.

As for Gruden he seems like a guy who could do well. But who knows he could suck. Either way its worth the try.

  8. Well I think Burgess is a fit to help our pass rush and take pressure off of Maybin. If this was to happen I think it is almost a certainty that Kelsay would have to get cut or renegotiate ( More likely cut ) than Maybin is purely a situational player who can back up Schobel. Burgess as a bridge for a year or two to develop Maybin and to not make us so reliant on Schobel is the role for Burgess.

However I would only give up at most a fourth for him. A second or even third is just way too much to give for an aging player with injury concerns no matter how good he was or could be. A fourth is worth the chance on a player like Burgess.

With all that being said I just don't see them going after him its not a move they usually make. This is just a move that I don't see the Bills making. As for what the Raiders want for him who knows I think he could be had for a fifth but its the Raiders who knows what they are willing to give up or what they want.

  9. really you cant compare the two...-who told you he was ripping off art Bell? Makes no sense--if you ever listen to Camping. Camping is a religious broadcaster. He 'teaches' the bible. He is a loon in my opinion in many ways. But he is entertaining.

Well I heard he was talking about the end of the world and stuff like that so I thought he was into the paranormal.

  10. Yeah but that blueprint includes the most unlikely spectacular play ever. Not a very replicable blue print.

No the Pats were also exposed in the Ravens and Eagles games. If you pressure the right side of the of the offensive line and push up the pocket you can get to Brady. The Pats Secondary is also much worse than in 2007 they don't have a shutdown corner as well as good in the box safety. Its been two years since that team went 16-0 they have had some changes in the roster. Simply put they are not that same team.

  11. Does ML get that much playing time in game 4/5 or even the starting nod?? I for one didn't like how Peters slid back into his spot after we won all the games and the O-line played like crap the rest of the year (even though more difficult opponents contributed to poor play). By my definition of running wild, I am talking 150 yards or more combined on the ground.

    What does everyone here think?

No Lynch is a much better talent than Rhodes. If our ground game runs good its more of a product of the offensive line clicking right away than Rhodes being a beast. However if Fred Jackson impresses than I could see him getting more work as a reward maybe 40/40/20 Lynch/Jackson/Rhodes than eventually more emphasis on Lynch.

Don't worry its not likely to happen anyway unless we drafted the best two guards in the draft and signed the most underrated center in the NFL and Walker plays well at left tackle and Butler was really a good right tackle all along instead of a slightly above average guard. Our o-line will be improved but LT is a big hole and the o-line will not click right away.

  12. I won't make excuses for rodney (I was more ashamed of that than spygate) but do you really believe Stroud didn't know what he was taking? No one buys that excuse anymore.

Stroud and at least two thirds ( Probably more ) of the Bills roster are on HGH or some other performance enhancers. The NFL has the most rampant drug problem out of all four major sports ( yeah even baseball ) at least 70% of the NFL is using HGH. You can't test for HGH so why wouldn't a player wanting to make big bucks on the last year of the deal take it.

HGH is a huge problem in all four sports and the NFL is the best example. There are so many injuries in the NFL and HGH is used to recover from those injuries. You are honestly fooling yourself if you think the Bills are all clean and the Pats and the rest of the NFL are dirty. There is so much money on the line you would almost be a fool to not take HGH.

Yeah it sucks that the game isn't clean but if not HGH they would just move on to something else. But any time you have big money on the line you have people who will do or take anything to get their hands on it. Than the rest of the league feels the need to keep up even more considering the fact that its is a direct contact sport.

  13. No one will ever be as entertaining as Art Bell. He was so such a showman with a really awesome voice to hear at like 2 in the morning. I know hell even Art knew that all or most of his callers were full of sh-- but they were so entertaining the things they came up with were so out there.

I have never actually heard to this Harold guy but from what I hear from these posts he seems like a bad rip off of Art Bell.

  14. I'm ranking Tom Brady the next Daunte Culpepper........even so, I still say they finish 12-4 and win the division.

Culpepper's injury was much worse than Brady's if I were to compare injuries it would be to Carson Palmer and even than its not as bad as Palmer because Brady got injured in week one while palmer got injured in the playoffs. Palmer recovered well its other injures to his shoulder and arm that have haunted him. Brady should recover to near his old form sadly.

  15. He was released from the Bucs earlier this year and I think he would be a good fit for the Bills and provide some good veteran leadership on the Defensive side of the ball. He played in the Cover 2 in Tampa and should be able to fit in quickly with the Bills cover 2 and would def be an upgrade even if he only has a year or two left (he's 36 or something I think). I would try to sign him to a one or two year contract and see if it works out. What do you guys think?

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/173503-...-becoming-fewer

Well I would love to have Derrick Brooks from two years ago. But I would rather have Pisa he is younger and more of a sure thing. Brooks seems like a guy who might be done he did look really old last year but if Pisa falls through than Brooks is the best option available.

  16. Well the Giants, Ravens, and Eagles pretty much gave the blue print on how to beat the 2007 Pats so no. The right side of the Pats o-line can get pushed around by good Dt's and DE's as well as the fact that they are still weak in the secondary (they don't have Asante Samuel a big part of the 16-0 run) and still a little old up front

  17. I think that the Bills are the 4th best team in the Division until they prove that they are not. The Bills have Personnel weakneses at LB and OL. They will rely on Rookies and existing veterans (some of whom did not get it done last year) to fill those positons. Maybe the Rookies will rise to the task this year but history says they will not be ready yet.

The Glaring problem areas are LB where they are relying on unproven and backup players some of whom are returning from injury. OL is unproven although the interior was addressed in the draft. At LB the coaches have a huge challenge in getting this unit ready to play. They are asking a lot of second day draft picks and undrafted free Agents. There is a lack of veteran talent in both of these area.

You have to run the ball and stop the run to win in this division. I think we will be able to run. I do not think we will be able to stop the run with the talent that exists today on this team.

At OL the front office gets a bye , there is no one out there that is ready to play. Al LB the front office has more work to do

If this team cannot stop the run I am not going to lay all the blame on coaching. They need more run stoppers.

Well if we get Pisa our LB issue is at least addressed. While I am not completely confident in our front seven to stop the run I am confident we will not get run over by the weaker and midlevel teams. The offense is feast or famine we have the skill position players but the QB is a crapshoot and the O-line is a big concern even if we get Levi Jones.

The defense is better than you make it out to be epically if we get Pisa to fill the need for a linebacker. We have the best secondary in the division and a competent front seven that is improved over last years. But yeah you can easily make the case for the bills as the worst team in the division just as much as you could make the case for them being the second best.

  18. How can you guys say we are flat out better than these teams? Not only did they have better records than us last season but they each beat us twice. I think the dolphins are going to be as good as they were last year if not better. And if Sanchez can perform the Jets could be a playoff team.

You could say that about the Dolphins last year and they got better than the whole division. Its the NFL you pretty much have to reset your expectations every year.

  19. Two words... Pat White! One word...Wildcat

The Dolphins just got Jason Taylor back and Joey Porter with his 17 sacks last season will now play every down instead of part time.

My take is the Dolphins and Pats will battle for the division and the Jets and Bills will battle for the better draft pick. With a complete overhaul of that O line spells DISASTER for Buffalo, even with TO. Unless the Bills find a way to get more experience on that line they are doomed with Schonert calling constant pass plays.

Jason Taylor is an upgrade but there is no way Joey Porter is the same player he was last year. Porter is 32 and while he will have a good year he is not going to have 17 sacks. He will be a 8-10 sack guy good but not great. and Pat White doesn't have the element of surprise the wildcat will be defended much better this year teams will find the blue print to stop it, that is if they haven't already found it.

You are right though despite our awesome skill position players we have an o-line that sports three new starters and the other two will have a shift in position. Our o-line is a crap shoot and its weighted to struggle early on.

  20. I am scared of the jets this year...creating a ravens type mold is not good for anyone

Well the Jets do scare me but not this year their QB and skill position players just aren't there. Next year they will concern me as long as their o-line doesn't fall apart. I think if Sanchez develops into a great QB they can spend their next off season on getting the targets for him

But yeah this year they just don't scare me

  21. Penning is a savy veteran who is a proven winner in this league. So I still think Miami's better then us. The Jets however think are going to take a few steps back starting a rookie at QB and losing Lavernous Coles. That said their defense might be better but think we hold an edge over them. Yet the patriots are still far and away the best team in this division which means we have to contend with teams like the Dolphins/Colts/Titans/Jaguars/Bengals (with a healthy Carson Palmer) for a Wild Card spot. While there's a good chance we could go 10-6 I have doubts especially after last season when thought 10-6 was realistic as well but some how managed to go 7-9 again.

Yeah Pennington is a very good QB when healthy but just when you think he has put to rest his health concerns he goes out and gets injured. There is a reason he is a two time comeback player of the year. But its a lack of confidence in Pennington's health and the fact that they did little to address their lack of WR's and the highly likely possibility of Joey Porter not having the same year is a few more issues the Fins have.

I would take Edwards over the Fins backup by a long shot. I would even take Fitzpatrick over Chad Henne for a win now situation.

  22. I think that the best question we have when examining wither we will make the playoffs is are we better than the Jets and or the Dolphins. I think that the Dolphins will take a step back after the two steps up. They improved along the offensive line and in their secondary. They return a good front seven but the front seven is a little older and more likely to take a step down.

The Dolphins weakness is really their offense. Chad pennington is always due for an injury and they have no wide outs. They also won't have the surprise of the wildcat. I think the Fins go 8-8 they have the defense but not the offensive fire power.

The Jets have a really good defense and a good coach to lead it. Yet their offense may be the worst in the division. They don't have the wide receivers and their QB is a rookie. They also have an aging o-line as well. The Jets go 7-9 they take a step back to develop a QB.

Now the Bills, I think that our defense ( this is if we get Pisa ) is a solid unit. A very good secondary and a slightly above average front seven. The bills offense may have the best skill position players and the worst o-line in the division. Trent is a injury case who is boom or bust. I think that its close but the Bills will be 9-7 or 10-6 and end up better than the Fins and Jets

The X-factor is coaching. Will Ryan be a hit or a miss for the Jets and is Sporano a one hit wounder or a real good coach. With Jauron we may have the worst coach in the division.

  23. If we add Pisa I see our front seven as an above average near playoff caliber. If we can get McCargo to play up to or near his potential than that bumps up our front seven to playoff caliber but thats unlikely to happen. Another move that would make me even happier with our front seven would be to add another DE to give Schobel a capable back up and give us a better rotation at the position.

  24. I hope the Bills get two out of the four OLB, DT- Henderson and Pisa should be reasonable in both money and draft picks

Well Pisa I agree should be a Bill soon if the front office knows what its doing. But Henderson is not available our best hope for an upgrade at DT is to see McCargo take a step up. Yeah I don't have any confidence in that happening either. As for bringing in an upgrade anyplace else Levi Jones is the only guy I could see them bringing in.

In the DT department there is not much out there and what little thats out there is not going to come at a price that the Bills want to pay. Dorsey is a player with a huge upside but its going to cost at least 2nd and 3rd round picks and I don't see the Bills selling the farm for him. Docket is also going to cost similar in picks and he wants an extension. Anyone else available isn't an upgrade.

And top tier LT don't get cut unless they are old or have injury issues ( Levi Jones or Orlando Pace ) they don't get traded for cheap either. As far as DE goes I think we can get someone in here as a rotational player to help give Schobel a reliable back up and and give us more players to rotate in and out. DE's get cut for cap reasons and I think one can be had.

  25. Which make them as cherished as the baseball records broken on steroids.

    Wipe your ass with them.

Honestly I would still take them. If he was on the Bills and they won three superbowls and went to another we would have cherished those runs to the Superbowl. Its like Eric Cartman says they are not going to take away his superbowl rings.

The fact is they are tarnished but they much like those records still count and no one is awarding the Rams, Panthers, or Eagles those Superbowls so its unlike those records were you could still count Hank Arron as the home run king there is no one else you could say really won those superbowls.

And Yeah he is a jerk but if he was on our team he would be our jerk. And yeah I would want him as the Bills coach
