It's amazing isn't it? 2018 with Alabama could be strong as there are several out there still going far but that's the most recent NCAA class to have a national championship team with more than a few starters for a few years. Before that it really makes you appreciate what Miami and U Florida had to have so much talent for a while

No, seriously. Go look at the last maybe ten national championship rosters and you'll see. I think Miami was the last that dressed a bunch of NFL starters.

Unfortunately it's not. Looking back at a lot of these national champion teams in the last several years it's hard to find more than two players to put together much more than a four to five year career versus the stardom everyone wants to anoint the Johnny come lately team up north

i don't know the specifics of each candidate but just going off of NFL odds. their OL was the best in the game and let McCarthy flourish and the rest of the skilset players. but i don't think there are good enough odds that the school puts 3 long term nfl OL in th league.

fair enough. but my point was more of a joke that those guys were starters for us who were only realistic depth players. i wish we had a roster full of starters. it's amazing that these players were starters, as mentioend above. you have to have capable backups that are not all wordly. some less than capable starters survive on their name from the draft or their has-been careers: clowney, von miller, etc. i hired (and then fired) his neice. she was lazy af. runs in the family i guess.

i disagree. he was outshined by the best running back in the league - lamar jackson. when he was engaged in the game and game planned around with Gregg Roman and others he was tremendously efficient and served as a strategy problem for defenses.

I always think of Duke Johnson who never put together the career people hoped for but was able to keep playing successfully for his teams over his career. Give me a guy who can take the ball and give me 400 yards, be a good teammate, and most importantly be available.
