  1. Nice Madden reference. You just tempted me to trade for him and make him into a the greatest madden Bills QB of all time!!! Even better - trade for Todd Collins and win the super bowl in a Bills uniform. That would be perfect.
  2. John Madden is the smartest man alive. The turducken is genius and delicious. How dare you question his rankings?
  3. Nice... we got the lowest rated guy in the first 80 picks in Troup. Let's hope Buddy is smarter than the rest of the league!
  4. Spiller throws off everything. They keep 5 because Spiller will play a good amount of WR. I also think Spiller will be our PR, ending Roscoe's career with Buffalo. Keep an eye out for Nelson - we like size at that position.
  5. No suprise. The tests are only in place to make the fans and sponsors feel like the NFL cares. The whole system is rigged and is a joke. Its the same garbage the NBA feeds with their "NBA cares" slogan. How else do you sell inner city kids to the suburban fans who buy the tickets and jerseys. You have to make them relatable somehow and legitimize what they are doing on and off the field. At the end of the day we are "sold". The only time we get the truth is from someone anonymous, like this guy.
  6. We threw downfield more on my highschool team...
  7. Actually, I would say he was a better recruiter and worse HC. He had Calvin Johnson and 2 1st round picks this year. Ohio State didn't even have someone picked until the 4th or 5th round this year. Georgia Tech always had NFL level players, but they couldn't win big games. That's a legitimate concern.
  8. His analysis of the situation is spot on. Remember he is looking at everything from a FANTASY perspective. I can't remember the last good fantasy player the Bills have had - Evans a few years ago or Bledsoe? Nix says Spiller will be used like Reggie Bush and Percy Harvin. Assuming Spiller is as good as those guys on day 1, he can still be a great game changer in REAL football but in FANTASY football he is a #2 or #3 back. Even though he CAN run inside, he won't get many touches doing so early. Its not a slight on Spiller. Look at TO's fantasy stats last year - he was awful. Buffalo is fantasy siberia. Our QBs and OL suck, the weather hurts fantasy stats and we play boring low scoring football. He couldn't be more correct.
  9. Pre-draft, Matt Williamson of Scounts Inc. had us with the #1 pick.
  10. 15 teams run the 3-4. Therefore 17 teams run the 4-3. That is more like 3 1/2 handfuls.
  11. He already has been punished. He fell from 2nd round to 4th round... that's a ton of money. That hurts more than any game suspension.
  12. I like the thought, but Faneca had a bad year on a very good line. If the Jets are taking a project 2nd round OT and moving him to starting G, that says something. Keep Levitre at G. Don't count on Wang anytime soon. A 5th round project OT shouldn't be on the field for a few years. 5th rounders success rate is what, 20-30% tops of being a solid starter? Plus add in that he's a developmental player and those odds aren't anything I would bank on. If you care about Trent's life, I think you have to go get a LT.
  13. What I said on another thread... the guy had 5 career receptions heading into his senior year!! That doesn't go by Buddy's philosophy of drafting 3-4 year starters.
  14. So much for Buddy's philosophy of picking 3-4 year starters... The guy had 5 career receptions heading into his senior year!!!
  15. He's not a running back!! Nix compared CJ to two people: Reggie Bush and Percy Harvin. Percy Harvin is a slot receiver and Reggie Bush has averaged 65 catches per season out of the backfield and split out. That's how he is going to be used. Spiller will get 5-10 carries per game max.
  16. PTR - It's the same thing as stocks. The market (football gurus) puts a price on a player based on analytical, speculative and subjective research. Nobody knows how exactly it's going to work out - there are no sure things. BUT, the market determines the price. 2 Parts - 1. You don't want to overpay, by picking someone when you can have them next round. 2. If the consensus of the market determines that DT Suh is better than DT Williams on every board, if you are Detroit, you would "reach" if you took Williams. You could be right, but you are betting strongly against the consensus. That's why everyone was PO'd about Whitner, Losman, McCargo because nobody had them that high. If you pick out of slot you are betting that you are much more knowledgable than the market on that subject, which has proven to not be the case.
  17. You just said quality starters. Shouman is a poor starter/quality backup. Nelson has potential to be a quality starter or better, which may be years away. Right now, they are neither. Scheffler is a day 1 proven quality starter. All it would cost is a 5th round pick and some money to pay the guy.
  18. Pretty sure we are about to fall below the Lions this year. When they get Suh/McCoy, a RB in the draft, plus the Scheffler they will have the QB, WR, TE that we don't have, greater than/equal to OL, slightly less RB (if we have Lynch). Sadly, right now, I'd take the Lions roster over the Bills.
  19. Because we are thin at the position, Nelson is unproven, and it won't cost us much. If Nelson or Shouman went down we are f'd. I'm assuming we will end up picking up a late round TE anyways - why not get one that is a proven solid starter.
  20. Sounds like we could've had Sheffler for a 5th and 7th. Buddy, are you awake? Somebody check his pulse.
  21. A couple months back he predicted the Bills were the early front-runners for next years 1st pick in the draft. AKA the Bills the worst team in the league in 2010-2011.
  22. Whether you like it or not, I think it's going to happen. If they don't pick for need, he is the best athelete on the board. He becomes their scat-back. Fred is 30. Marshawn may be gone by the start of the draft. Our starting QB is captain checkdown and we need a Reggie Bush type of back to catch the ball in the flat. You mentioned the superbowl - by the time that could even happen Fred and Marshawn are gone. This would be a pick for 2-3 years down the road. This kid was the #1 prospect out of high school and lived up to the billing. He's going to make it big in the NFL.
  23. Let's hope so. If the league considers us a joke now I can't imagine the negative publicity if we took him at #9. However, I think the fans would get over it quick because of the man-crush factor, Kelly/Nix/Gailey signing off and the hype of a potential franchise QB.
