  1. Did Matt Millen build his team around proven Pro-Bowlers at WR or did he reach on draft picks? Fine... let's assume Evans = Boldin. You can pick up another Evans for a 3rd round pick and $7 mil per year and choose not to do it? Agreed that a OL and QB help the WR. You still have your first two picks!! How many pro-bowlers come from the 3rd round? Not enough to justify passing on a proven commodity.
  2. Boldin makes $7 mil per year. Lee Evans makes $9.31 mil per year. Boldin is 29, Evans is 29. Boldins stats > Evans stats by a lot Why would we trade our third round pick for a player better than Evans? Really?? Come on... give whoever we put at QB a chance.
  3. Let's assume you are correct and take a step back with free agency and a step forward with the draft. Wouldn't you be in the same spot? How does your team get better with that mentality unless you consistently outdraft the other teams in the league.
  4. Ehh... agreed on the QB. If you're Peyton Manning than you are 100% correct, but even the Colts take WR with regularity because Peyton can't do it all. As it stands right now, they will stack 8 in the box and take out Fred/Marshawn.
  5. Our #2 and #3 receivers didn't even PLAY last year!! Lee couldn't even get open with TO and Reed on the field, how is he going to get open now? We should have traded our 3rd for Boldin, but that would've made too much sense.
  6. Exactly. This team is worse than what it was 4 months ago. It really can't be argued.
  7. Keep drinking the koolaid. Edwards - Ravens let him go because they wanted him to have surgery and the next 2 stops he failed his physical. We were his only option (see TO). We just committed 4 years to him. Prove otherwise. Bills lost TO, Reed, Butler, Fine, Palmer, Jenkins, Denny, Wendling, Incognito, top coaches. Tell me we are better
  8. It wouldn't be the worst idea if they felt the WR is the best player available. I think we're taking CJ Spiller round 1. Best athelete available.
  9. Let me guess... you like spending 20 mil on a guy who was failed by 3 teams. I didn't say Cromartie. And it's not just the AFC East. I'm sure every other GM in the league was awake at 12:01... I thought that was part of the job description. Do you honestly believe that the Bills/current regime will year over year outsmart other teams with more resources in the draft?
  10. I will never argue you that Jauron is better than Gailey or really any other HC in the league... But I'd take Perry and his old staff over the current one. I like Gailey, but not as HC and not with this staff. I hope he proves me wrong but I suspect he won't.
  11. how did he only get three questions answered in 15 minutes?
  12. Not Jauron, but every other coach was snapped up in seconds by playoff teams. We have hired assistants and promoted them way over their heads. It's not even debatable...
  13. Like literally sleeping while every other team in the division is getting better? Really? Sorry guys I can't believe everyone else is believing this BS that OBD is feeding us. The guys we signed so far are: Backup/old RT Backup MLB DE/DT medically failed by 3 teams I'm glad we passed on guys like Dansby, didn't trade our 3rd for proven Pro-Bowler Boldin and went for those three.... How come I'm not so confident we are going to outsmart every other team in the draft? Because odds are it won't happen.
  14. ehh... 4-5 wins, top 5 pick in 2011. not as bad as 2-14. definately not a .500+ record like everyone seems to think. we got worse over the offseason on talent and coaching (see scouts inc., every insider expert). it's going to be ugly.
  15. Ehh... Byrd is a playmaker, but he is a unfinished product (tackling, run defense). His assessment on Byrd was pretty good. Some picks last year he didn't move his feet and the QB hit him in the numbers (see Delhomme). As far as Trent, he is done. He doesn't know how to read a defense and plays without confidence. What is going to change this season? He will have a OL that is most likely worse, and less WRs to work with. He couldn't hit open receivers down the field last year... what happens when they're not open?
  16. Yes, he is the best player available. Unless by some miracle Suh or McCoy are there.
  17. I can't imagine what he's thinking. He makes $3 mil a year. He's 26 years old and will make $40k per year in politics starting off. How about put a few mil in the bank, and retire in mid-to-early thirties and still have 30+ years of a political career!! How many 26 year olds make $3 mil/year?? Also, in 2008 he was probably our best lineman (not saying much). This is a blow to our team. Now we need both starting LT and RT, plus backups at those positions in addition to pretty much every other position.
  18. True, but he has just as much to prove as any of the other guys on McShay's list, if not more so. He is behind where McKelvin and Lynch were as rookies, and hasn't proven he can play in this league. It's not to say its over for him, but he's had a very poor start to his career. Let's hope he looks better at OLB, but right now he looks overmatched on the football field, even on special teams.
  19. He forgot Maybin. Interesting he throws McKelvin in there.
  20. I wish that were true, but Bills fans are suckers for a PR/Marketing ploy. We gave TO the key to the city and had hundreds of people at the airport for his arrival!!! TO made the general fan base put on the blinders to the fact that we had a Jauron coached team and poor talent on the roster (see season ticket/jersey sales).
  21. What are you guys smoking? To update you, TO and Josh Reed are free agents and are gone. That leaves us Lee Evens, Roscoe, Hardy and Johnson. The last three barely saw the field last season. What happens if Evans gets hurt? How do they not stack two DB on Evans and take him out of the game. You can't ignore WR. You draft the best available, regardless of position at this point bc the Bills need EVERYTHING. Last time I checked all the draft experts are saying QB and OT are the weaker positions in the draft - if that's the case don't reach for them at #9. The draft is loaded at DT, LB, WR, DB - get those. This is a 3 year re-building at least.
  22. Agree 100%. But, I thought about this... realistically, how do you convince someone to come here? You're selling a bad product, and are paid lower with respect to your peers. You can only lure an equal counterpart away if you can make a more compelling offer, which we can't. So the only way you're going to get that guy is either promoting from within or giving someone a pretty substantial promotion to convince them to move their entire family to WNY. It's tough, but it's our reality right now until the Bills become a winning organization.
  23. If he is an All-Pro for the next 10 years then that would be a great pick.
