Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
Pete replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who is our 5th WR? Every team in league has 5 rosterable WR except Bills. What makes you assume Dalton and Keon will be better? In 2024 there was zero separation. What makes you assume our WR can separate in 2025? -
Agreed. I’m in Massachusetts. When Pats fans talk about Josh and Bills Mafia- I often say “we can’t all be Bills Mafia”

My buddy is a huge Giants fan. He has a tatoo of the Patriots logo with a hatchet in its head, blood, and it says "17-1 Slain" lmao

Also, new kickoff rule, I thought speedy receivers would be in more demand. Marino was guessing that the preferred returner might be a fast running back. He explained it’s basically a running play, with how close the kicking team is -

Well last May 3 we added Valdez-Scandling and May 15 we added Chase Claypool- so there is hope for fifth WR -
Tory Horton is the one that bothers me. We had plenty of chances , and plenty of picks to trade up and get him in 4th.

are you going to argue with AI? I cut and paste what AI thought about Ladd percentage snaps from the slot
-
Ladd McConkey has been primarily used as a slot receiver, playing 63.3% of his snaps inside, according to TruMedia. While he's highly effective in the slot, he's not limited to that position and has experience playing on the outside as well. In the 2023 season, he played 70% of his snaps outside and only 30% in the slot.

With the draft over it is time for the udfa thread

https://sports.yahoo.com/the-nfl-drafts-secret-round-170012115.html In 2023, 194 Week 1 starters — almost 28% — were drafted in the first round of their respective drafts. Another 143 starters, or roughly 20%, were drafted in the second round, and another 107, or about 15%, were taken in the third round. In other words, picks in the top three rounds made up nearly two-thirds of all NFL lineups in 2023. Beyond that point, though, an interesting trend emerges. As expected, declining numbers of players selected in Round 4 (77), Round 5 (52), Round 6 (33) and Round 7 (18) reached the starting lineup. However, 80 undrafted players — more than any of the final four rounds — were in starting lineups in Week 1 of the 2023 season. More than 11% of all starters in 2023 went undrafted. This pattern holds over longer timeframes, as well. From 2019 to 2023, 429 undrafted players — more than 12% — reached the starting lineup. (We counted every season a player started separately; if an undrafted player started all five seasons, that counts as five “undrafted” starts.) That’s fewer than all Round 3-picked starters (521) but more than Round 4 (363). -

how would you feel if we didnt draft a DT or a CB until the 7th? Wake Up. In 2023, 194 Week 1 starters — almost 28% — were drafted in the first round of their respective drafts. Im not sure why the Bills are not more successful in 12 personal. We have a kickass OL. Brady should be able to scheme Dalton and Knox, like Pats did with Gronk and Hernandez

Keon, pre Poyer hit, looked promising. But Keon needs to learn to beat a jam. Right now he looks like a fish out of water. And he needs to just elevate, and stop playing patty cakes with defender. Keon is Elam handsy, and won a very low percentage on 50/50 balls. Keon put on 10-15 pounds, which Im not sure if its going to make him quicker. Im not writing Keon off, and Im rooting for him. Prove us wrong Keon

Patriots- Diggs Mack Hollins Kyle Williams Bourne Boutte Baker hmmm, im not sure, Bills WR group is not much better, and they have more than 4 WR Jets Garrett Wilson Alan Lazard Tyler Johnson Malachi Corley Gipson Wilson much better #1. Lazard had 6 TD last season- more than any Bills WR Browns Jeudy Tillman Diontae Johnson Thrash Woods Jeudy had 1200 yards. Tillman was injured early, but finished strong the last 6 games. Diontae is great WR, but crazy. Bills WR room is better, but close Titans Calvin Ridley Tyler Lockett Van Jefferson Treylon Burke Ayomanor OK- the Bills WR room is more talented then the Titans. Raiders Tre Tucker 4.31 speed Jack Bech - my favorite WR in 2025 draft Jakobi Myers Donte Thornton - one of 14 WR I wanted for Bills to draft Wilkerson its very close. Falcons Mooney London McCloud Blair Washigton Bills WR much better Carolina McMillan Legette Thielan Moore Oker Bills eek this one out So if those 7 are worse than the Bills, than the Bills have ther 25th best WR group. I concede the Bills have better WR rooms than 4 teams, placing them 28th best WR group. "Worst WR Group in NFL" slight hyperbole. But not far from the truth -
What positions we prioritize in the draft: Part 2
Pete replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ravens showed blueprint how to stymie Bills offense. They dared Bills WR to beat them deep, press coverage, stacking the box. They had zero respect for our WRs. Texans and Jets followed blue print. Again and again, zero respect for Bills WR, press and stack. Bills offense sputtered. In reaction, Beane was desperate for WR. Amari got respect. Safetys backed up. Teams played more zone. The middle of the field opened up. James Cook had space to run in. Josh had more time. 3 subpar Bills offense games in a row, trade for Amari, Bills set a record 8 straight weeks scoring 30 points or more. We have lost Amari and Mack- and that has me very concerned -
Compare Keon against Ladd McConkey Compare Dalton to Sam LaPorta Players drafted after Dalton and Keon produced substantially more than Keon and Dalton rookie years. Keon and Dalton were awful in the playoffs. We have every right to be disappointed in Keon and Dalton

Name them. That is the point of this thread. Please list every WR group you feel is weaker than Buffalo. I bet you can't name 6 worse WR groups. Have at it, lets go! -

Emperor New Clothes. October 15 we traded for Amari. October 30 we scored 30 or more points for 8 straight weeks. Thats how speed WR opened up our offense. It seems perfectly obvious to me, and many. But we receive much push back and vitriol for speaking the truth -

because we woefully neglected a speedy WR in previous drafts, and were desperate after Ravens thrashing -
30. Denzel Boston WR Washington 62. Evan Stewart WR Oregon 104. Anthony Smith EDGE Minnesota 127. Zakee Wheatley S Penn State 134. Justice Haynes RB Michigan 159. Malik Muhammad CB Texas 168. Bryce Boettcher

or we could of just drafted a WR, controlled costs, and not had to deal with BS unrestricted FA tenders -
Now there are zero excuses for McDermott. We gave Defense every draft pick(besides 2 late round picks), ignoring the Offense. Defense better step up in the playoffs. If they fall flat again, what does that say about our D and draft?

So according to that, Buffalo is 26th in terms of draft capital used on WR. So this substantiates that Buffalo WR are among the worst 20% in NFL -
Nice draft, but obviously a fraud. Bills pick 32nd
-
The fact that Beane reacted so strongly proves we need speed at WR
