  1. Thought I'd correct this, they had a Bills topic going as well as light chatter about movies. The guy called in with a completely different Bills topic and yes, they did cut him off from talking about Fitzpatrick or something like that on the basis that they had a different Bills topic going on. They didn't cut him off because they were "only taking calls about comedy movie draft." Can't wait for the draft this Friday.
  2. The league as a whole gives the 1% to the players. Also of note: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/
  3. I didn't say the Bills shouldn't bring him in, I just said that you calling him a pass rusher was inaccurate.
  4. But it's always made in comparison to his salary: He's only making $2M this year.
  5. He's not a pass rusher, Kelsay had more sacks than him last year. Rumor was that he wanted to make a move to the 4-3 where he may be better suited.
  6. There's a cap ceiling, no floor. The 99% has to be spent on a cash basis, not cap dollars. The 2% would be evenly split across the board and paid in dollars to the players union. No team would actually have to spend the money on a player.
  7. Not each team, the league as a whole, in cash not cap hits. There is no floor on the cap, just the cash. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/ For the 99% cash basis they'll just give the players union the difference in money. The penalty for going over the cap is draft picks, I would assume it may be the same for being under the floor.
  8. I think the comparison is more to fans over-hyping a developmental guy. Lonnie Harvey also comes to mind from last offseason. I hope for the best with Jasper.
  9. I disagree with your analysis of there being 3 receivers on the team better than Evans. Johnson maybe, and that's it. Thigpen is an upgrade over Brohm. Also, it's Nix.
  10. Gerald Sensabaugh - SS Avril is a 4-3 DE
  11. Those would be 2 things that would make it better.
  12. His contract ended after last season, he is a UFA
  13. 3 years $12M http://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2011/7/31/2307689/nick-barnett-signing-buffalo-bills-nfl-free-agency-2011-green-bay-packers-news
  14. Yes, I highly doubt they use a pick on a guy to fill a 3rd RB role that was vacant last year and then cut him after only one camp. Unless of course one of the UDFAs beat him out which I don't see happening.
  15. It's not a garbage plate: http://yfrog.com/h0ltierlj It's a fish. Unless the garbage plates have gotten really crazy since I left Roch. Detroit no longer has a need for him after signing Tulloch, so he no longer has that option anyday. Also, Vandenbosch is a DE.
  16. Agreed, the insinuation was that Barnett would have no trouble in the 34 defense because he was a similar weight to Talley, Bennett, Conlon etc. PFT article, doesn't really offer much more insight. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/bills-apparently-jump-into-the-nick-barnett-derby/
  17. Agreed on both counts. Barnett is plenty big, but to use guys who played in the late 80s to early 90s as proof of that is asinine. For comparisons sake olinemen such as Jim Ritcher weighed 273lbs and Kent Hull 278lbs.
  18. Want nothing to do with him if he actually did fail his physical or even his conditioning test.
  19. Going into last season the starting LBs were Torbor-Davis-Poz-Kelsay. Now they're likely Merriman-Davis-Torbor-Kelsay. With Sheppard and Moats perhaps making an impact on that lineup. Plus Davis was hurt the majority of last year. Seems basically the same if not better to me.
  20. Has there been any news on Urbik or Hangartner's health? Didn't both tear ACLs during the Minnesota game last year?
