  1. Don't they typically call more than one play, a pass and a run option? Therefore it is actually Fitz making the call based on the defensive front given.
  2. Me, for sure. Did Gaither play in any games last year? He has a back injury that held him out all of last season and is now a UFA. I wouldn't sign Gaither for free this offseason.
  3. Didn't it have something to do with a suspension for an illegal supplement?
  4. Not that it's important to you point, but Meredith was a late 5th round pick.
  5. On the Eric Wood BB.com video they appeared to use both zone and man concepts depending on the play. My assumption is that most teams are like this.
  6. We'll gladly take their $$$ in CNY. Approx $5.8M according to Yahoo: All lost this year.
  7. Considering there's no quote it comes accross as the writer's word, not Ralph Wilson's. As far as I know his plans for the team after he dies haven't been made public. I guess that the reports out there it makes sense to take caution, but without knowing how reliable it is I'm not sure how much stock I'd put into it. Especially since it's from 3 years ago and reports to the contrary have come out as well.
  8. The key word is "known." When has Ralph said this is his plan publicly? I thought he didn't have a known succession plan. Did Jerry even speak with him for this article? Wawrow commented in October after actually meeting with Ralph this: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/10/12/1746725/wawrow-speculates-on-possible-bills-succession-plan
  9. All things aren't equal in your factual example because teams have different front office staff, coaches, etc. In theory those teams would be better if they had spent more money on better players.
  10. Every receiver on that list has also peaked, and I'd take Evans over probably all of them. Parrish is also a veteran WR who will be on the team as well as Stevie Johnson, who is going into his 4th year in the league, could step up in more of a leadership role.
  11. This was on Yahoo awhile ago but involves similar style stats from the 2010 season: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AnGA3KSqaP7R6mfA8rdHUkNDubYF?slug=ys-intangibles012711
  12. I was going to say this, he talks up Williams all the time on twitter and in his articles. You would have to think he would have him top 100, so maybe he ends up in the top 30 on his list. Edit: He was on his All-Pro team at the end of the season: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/1/18/1942270/kyle-williams-makes-peter-kings-2010-nfl-all-pro-team I'm guessing he is top 30.

  15. After further investigation you were right in this regard, Scott started the first 3 games in 2009 at SS before being injured. He lost his starting position while injured to George Wilson. He later started 6 games at LB. Whitner played FS at the beginning of the season before having thumb surgery. What a mess of injuries that team was.
  16. Forgive me if I value the speculation from a source such as CBS Sports or Tim Graham over yours. Your low ball comment only referenced the RFA tender, I was merely pointing out that it was reported that there had been ongoing negotiations throughout the season. Therefore there must be some price that they are willing to bring him back at and feeling that the players they have on the roster currently are not better than him. Not sure how his being benched in '09 relates to Chan or Buddy's feelings of him as he started all 16 games in 2010 with them as coach & GM. I'm okay with the fact that a contract likely won't be reached and Donte moves on. In my opinion he is an above average player, probably looking for too much money. I assume that would result in them finding another SS through free agency as there currently isn't a viable starting SS on the roster beyond Whitner. Wilson is a FS in this defense in my opinion and I think the pick of Searcy in the 4th round is just as much an indictment on Scott, who hasn't started a game at SS since 2008, as it is on Whitner.
  17. They had contract negotiations, thus offering him a contract, on an extension prior to issuing him an RFA tender before the CBA expired. They haven't been able to negotiate since due to the lockout. It's unknown what amounts were being negotiated except that Donte claimed it wasn't a fair offer, so to call it a "low ball" contract is speculative. According to this the offer was approx $5M: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/14476559 A $5M offer tells me they think he's a decent option. Here's a thread on it: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/124958-dontes-offer/
