  1. He was cut, we tried to sign Rucker off their PS, they retained Rucker and cut Chandler.
  2. Getting off topic, wasn't there a report done on Troup's progression throughout the season. I know it exists but can't remember what site did the article.
  3. Haven't reports been that Troup is working with the ones in camp?
  4. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/
  5. I'd rather a guy who has a chance at passing a physical and making the team.
  6. Why not? Former first round pick. Can't hurt to take a look.
  7. AdamSchefter Former Bills S Donte Whitner did NOT go to Cincinnati. He agreed to a 3-year, $11.75 million deal with $4 million gtd with the 49ERS.
  8. Makes more sense now, Donte to SF AdamSchefter Former Bills S Donte Whitner did NOT go to Cincinnati. He agreed to a 3-year, $11.75 million deal with $4 million gtd with the 49ERS.
  9. What are other backup QBs making around the league?
  10. Even if your assessment is correct you would have to think this coaching staff doesn't agree since Whitner started over Wilson all last season.
  11. If all they're looking for is a blocking TE he seems like as good of an option as any.
  12. Sensabaugh signed yesterday 1 year $2.5M, seems a more likely comparable.
  13. Easley and Sheppard are the only injuries of notable players, they're only out a week, and even they weren't going to go into the season as starters. I don't think it's that bad really.
  14. No, if they don't hit the mark the league will pay the remaining % they are under to the players union. It won't go to one individual player from one individual team or anything like that. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/30/per-team-spending-minimum-doesnt-apply-until-2013/
  15. No, they can go over in cash and amortize the bonus over the life of the contract. But there is a cap ceiling that they cannot go over.
  16. The only guy I think they may want to keep might be the ILB White and keeping 6 WRs plus Smith seems excessive. I'd also like them to find a backup FS or resign Whitner and move Wilson to FS.
  17. I'm curious on that outlier year with Gonzalez how much they used him split out as a WR and let a different TE handle the blocking role.
  18. The only thing I can figure is this: Coleman has been taking reps with the ones in practice, and Batten has been getting good reviews this year at camp after a good camp last year before his injury. Perhaps they feel both are better than Moats at OLB? Both were on IR when Moats got his shot outside, therefore getting the playing time due to their injuries. With everyone healthy they all move back to their original positions from last year. Moving Moats inside gives Moats a better opportunity to make an impact, I'm guessing Torbor gets cut at some point, and Moats & Sheppard are the 2nd string ILBs and perhaps eventual replacements behind two aging veteran ILBs.
  19. Has anyone seen Shawn Nelson at camp? He's listed on the camp roster at 272lbs, quite a jump for a guy who was listed at 240lbs coming into the draft. Looking for confirmation on this added size.
