  1. Who really cares? The money isnt coming out of our pockets directly and I think the majority of us hoped it was going to work out. It certainly didnt keep us from signing Mario or Mark...........
  2. If I remember correctly didnt we used to lose our preseason games back in the Superbowl Years too? I'm not going to throw in the towel based on two preseason games.....
  3. I guess trading him for a 4th round pick (which many thought wasnt enough) doesnt look so bad anymore.....a very new england like move if you ask me......
  4. http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/eagles-talk/Dunlap-in-at-left-tackle-with-Bell-demot?blockID=755221&feedID=704
  5. I dont really care what he does over there. I'm not scared of him being another ex-Bill running wild on us everytime we play him. Hes never going to be more than a situational guy.
  6. I like the fact that he's smart is tough and takes the heat for his mistakes and doesnt blame his teammates. The whole team seems to rally around him and respect him. I'm not saying that makes him close to upper echelon but its something we havent had since JK.
  7. He may speak slow and I think part of that is him not comfortable being in front of a camera etc but everything hes said thus far- he seems mature, intelligent and focused. And as someone else pointed out he's picked up the defense well. These guys need a football IQ. They may not all be scholars but if they have the football IQ they can succeed. That being said, from his comments I dont see success/money going to his head. He seems grounded and focused on his job....
  8. The jets are going to provide a special link for NYCBBB members to buy tickets which are supposed to all in the same section I believe.
  9. I have a Wood jersey. I think he's a great player.
  10. Northern NJ just outside Manhattan. I live literally 2 miles from MetLife Stadium
  11. I think David Lee will have a big hand in helping Wannstedt prepare for Tebow/Wildcat. He brought it to miami and taught sparano what he knows about it.....
  12. He at least has "a body of work" and experience. I'm not saying his body of work is great but hes started a lot more games than Thigpen. They maybe thinking we're gearing up to make some noise, we have some pieces in place - what if Fitz gets hurt? I dont think Thigpen impressed anyone in preseason last year maybe they're looking for an upgrade......
  13. It doesnt make sense. They have been aggressive in FA they think they're ready to turn the corner- why pass on a player that can help immediately for a guy who may help a year or two down the line?
  14. I dont think it will be a poor draft and even if it was mediocre I doubt there'd be any changes. This is the most "direction" we've had in years. When Nix came in this was a rudderless ship. After Donahoe was fired (not that he did any good) the whole thing went (even further) south. I love Marv but hes not a GM and Brandon is a marketer and a businessman that had no business on the football side of things. Nix has even provided for the future by bringing Whaley in....
  15. I dont think our D Line will get manhandled this year the Williams/Anderson signings aside we will have #95 back and Dareus should be even better in his second year. Our O line w Wood back is pretty solid except for LT. The jets arent as good as they were and as much as they think Tebow will help them I really feel he's gonna hurt them. For one the guy is not cut out to be a backup. He wants to start (Im not saying he should just that he wants to). Maybe they feel he really will push Sanchez to step up. And maybe he does but even if he does hes bound to have a bad game or two. I know a lot of you live in the NY/NJ area so you know how bad the fans and media can get- they'll be clamoring for Tebow. That will only serve to further divide a team that seems already divided. So regardless of how successful the wildcat thing maybe its the "undertow" that will hurt them. Miami? They have some talent and I don't think Moore is that bad of a QB. But they have holes as well as a new Coach and new systems. While they ultimately maybe better off in the end I think they take steps back from where they were- yes I know they werent great last year but they were pretty much in every game and never quit on Sparano or the interim coach. Also as it was pointed out - David Lee will be helpful in preparing for the wildcat as he brought it to miami and taught Sparano what he knows about it.... I could be completely wrong about all this.....I'm not saying we're gonna sweep both of them but I think we will do a lot better than we did last year....
  16. I remember that game. I was in college. I went to the bar my roomate managed for the superbowl. He had to throw me out after I lit my bills hat on fire in drunken disgust after we lost......
  17. actually d'brickashaw fired the first shot saying he likes the jets odds against Williams.... And how did Flynn sweep us last season when we didnt play the packers? Something tells me Flynn will end up in Seattle anyway........
  18. The Buffalo Bills appear to have fallen short in their quest to make a big splash on the opening day of free agency with the biggest free agent contract ever given to a defensive player. Instead, Mario Williams will leave Buffalo without signing and has scheduled a visit with at least one other team, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports. So Williams, this year’s top free agent outside Peyton Manning, will continue to look around. What we don’t know is whether his decision to leave Buffalo is an indication that he didn’t like Buffalo’s financial offer, that he didn’t like what he heard from the Bills’ football people, or if he simply wants to take his time and weigh other offers. Among the teams that are reportedly still hoping to get an audience with Williams are the Bears and the Titans. Some team will almost certainly make Williams the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, and that team might be the Bills. But it won’t be today.
  19. Im not disputing that he is a phenomenal QB. However I've always sensed he was fake and not a genuine guy. I believe that stuff that came out about the female trainer at Tenessee. Eli seems much different.......
  20. They keep saying the nerves in his arm have not fully regenerated yet and may never regenerate.
  21. I was thinking the same thing when I heard the jets wanted him. My thoughts were you'd better win a superbowl with him because he's going to set you back a few years. He's 36 coming off a major injury. He's no one's QB of the future. Unless you had an aging team trying at one last shot at the big game you'd be better off finding or trying to find the "franchise" qb that will lead your team for 8-10 years. If I was a fins fan I'd be hoping they trade up to number 2 (Fisher seemed to indicate the Rams are willing to move down) and draft RG3. Either way you set the team back either by delaying the process of finding your qb of the future or by giving up draft picks- I think RG3 has better upside for the future....
  22. Unamed NFL sources told a Miami reporter Miami is on the short list of places Manning would like to play. He and his wife own a place there and reportedly would like to live there...... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/04/more-talk-of-peyton-manning-in-miami/
  23. CLASSIC! Maybe he will get a charging Buffalo Tattoo!
