    My god man, why sperm?!

Got another way to make someone go faster? It’s been proven. Why do you think Usain Bolt was so fast. It wasn’t HGH, it was Puma Sperm.

Thomas ran a 4.33, which is really fast by the way, but is 45lbs heavier than Worthy.

No shoulder injury. Plus I heard that Thomas is not a good  locker room guy

The better question is, how will it be obtained? And will it be videotaped?

They videotape it for scientific purposes. They also have vids of Aaron Donald getting Gorilla Sperm

Based on this it could be possible Brian Thomas would be available at 28 anyhow or maybe we trade up like 2-3 spots like usual to get our guy if they really did target him

That’s why you make the move for Worthy. BTJ is the smokescreen all along. It’s SPEED they want. We’ll call him The Flash. He’ll be injected with Puma sperm before every game. No DBs will have a chance at him

I don't see any scenario the Commanders trade out of this pick. But for this exercise, I get it. Though I would have taken Penix instead of McCarthy.

Beauty is in the eye of the evaluator....

Picks galore. It would've been fun to see this draft play out.

I actually like Pennix quite a bit and would have taken him at 12. Problem was I thought I was going to get jumped for both these guys. So I made the pick I made.

It sure is!  If you want to draft a crappy QB

This obviously all comes down to the GMs evaluations of the QBs.  I just think they’ll seriously regret passing on Maye.

@mragsno offense.  We just have different views of this QB class and Drake Maye in particular.

None taken. I’m not in love with McCarthy either. But I do like the extra picks I got

    GREEDY MOCK

I only traded our extra 2nd 2025 rounder to make some moves.  Most trade ups involved packaging THIS year's picks.

In the end we walk away with SIX picks.

Found SPEIGHTS today.....  looks like a steal.  Check him out!

I’d be 100% all for this. Get 2 first rd Wars to hold it down for at least the next 5 years. Get a starting S and then your starting DT who will be a wrecker for the foreseeable future.

I also line Speights. Don’t know anything about Henderson.

The Chicago Bears have traded the 9th pick in the 2024 NFL.

    Commanders receive:

    #9 (1350)

    Bears receive:

    #12 (1200)

    #100 (100)

    #121 (52)

with the 9th pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Washington Commanders select J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan.

the Commanders feel great trading back, picking up extra picks this year and next while still getting one of the QBs they eyed all along. Like we announced earlier, we are more than just a QB away from contending, this gives us our guy as well as the extra picks to surround him with players that can make a difference. I knew I may need to trade back up to sneak ahead of Min or LV to get our guy. We’re completely fine with giving up some later round picks here.

fwiw, I liked Maye, and Daniels more, and would have taken them at 2 but I didn’t love either of them so much that I didn’t feel good about getting McCarthy, AND the extra picks

@TPS and the NYJ are on the clock.

Yeah but Payton just took him to keep his wife busy so he could really get his team back on track again. He plans on using Russell Wilsons old stadium office as his personal apartment until things get back on track. His wife might be lonely.

But we also know for sure Washington isn't trading, in fact if they are trading they are most likely giving up picks to move back up in rd 1 for a tackle.

The most intrigue in the draft is Denver, minn and Vegas and you totally robbed us of that with your Madden trade!

    lol. Ok. Got it.

Welp, there goes the big 3 receivers and any dreams of the Bills trading up for one of them in this mock.

I can't wait for one of them to fall out of the top 10 on Thursday night, the Bills still don't trade up, and everyone loses their minds (me included)

Just a heads up, I will be AFK from 3:30p est to around 5:30p.  I can still review trades in my DM's, but may not be able to update the main page

I agree. I think at least 1 makes it NEAR the 9th to 10th pick. And if that’s the case I see a lot of people trying to move mountains to get one.

Personally I think Odunze will be the 2nd WR taken.  I’ve heard from people I trust that many teams have him as either the top overall WR or 2nd.  And more isn’t being made about it as people want him to slide to them or to a place they can trade for him.

He has the best ball skills in the draft and is the kind of guy who can be open even when not open.  Basically a QBs best friend type receiver.

I also believe Odunze will end up being the best WR on the draft. Not taking anything away from MHJ or Nabors. Just my opinion though. However I also believe he has the potential to be the one falling to the 10th pick or so. And because of that, if he did get near 10 if I was the Bills I’d be looking to move up.

Only because of his off-the-field stuff. He was heralded as a potential 1st Rounder prior to.

While I generally agree with you and remember that. But 10+ years ago is rough to remember so I looked it up and saw this on his Wiki page

“Prior to the 2012 season, Mathieu was ranked as the third best cornerback prospect in the upcoming 2013 NFL draft by NFL analyst Chad Reuter. On November 29, 2012, Mathieu stated his intentions to enter the 2013 NFL Draft.[24] Mathieu attended the NFL Combine and completed all of the combine and positional drills. On March 28, 2013, Mathieu attended LSU's pro day, but chose to stand on his combine numbers and only performed positional drills.[25] He was projected to be a second or third round pick by the majority of NFL draft experts and scouts. At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Mathieu was ranked as the tenth best cornerback prospect in the draft by DraftScout.com

but that’s besides the point. Because I’m fully remembering him being more worthy of a possible 1st rd pick. I remember I wanted him (not in the 1st rd). But the facts are still out there that both of these guys were considered sure high picks (if not for off field issues), not some tweeners that don’t have a position. Mathieu is another one that got drafted and never changed positions from Safety after entering the league. He’s been on multiple teams and still continues to be a S. And I would argue there isn’t a S in this draft that is worthy of a first rd pick

  10. 1 hour ago, BullBuchanan said:

    Minkah Fitzpatrick? Tyrann Mathieu?

Well. Mathieu was a 3rd rd pick.

both were also considered safeties in the nfl. Which is what they are. Fitzpatrick even asked to be traded by Miami because he was out of position and went to the Steelers and haven’t looked back from the safety position since. which is also fine, but in reality if the Bills take a S in the first round with the other needs we have I think it’s a HUGE MISTAKE, and I’m pretty sure most would agree.

im not saying there is anything wrong with Dejean. But I think it’s apparent that it’s not a guarantee what position he is best suited for in the NFL. And using a first rd pick on a guy that’s not considered one of the best defenders in football like both Mathieu and Fitzpatrick were coming out of college, would be a huge disappointment.

  11. That helmet with the H is god aweful putrid. Someone should end their life for thinking of that. The red one isn’t terrible. The others look so much like the other “New Jerseys” coming out by all these teams. They all look like the same to me. A few different color options but exactly the same.

It's a good draft class in the top 100. Not at all positions, sure, but that's the case in every draft. Overall this is a good class at the top. 100/120 I'd say. Below that yea.... I think it drops off pretty fast. Chances of many starters from rounds 5 though 7 is even slimmer than usual.

That’s why I ensured having 4th round or higher in this trade.

    15 minutes ago, Alphadawg7 said:

The issue is Commanders already have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and 7 in first 150 picks coming into this draft.   So they don’t need to make this move to load up on more picks in this draft.  They can take a QB and still have 6 more picks in first 150.

So I don’t know adding a few more and a couple next year is enough for them to address the QB position with one of the QBs three hey are high on.

I’ll accept this answer. But like I said, we’re way more than just a QB away. We need many positions. The day is young. We’re not finished yet. Fwiw, I wish this was a 4 round mock where I could really see what I could get in return for my trade. But it’s not. So I guess I’ll just have to be happy with the outcome.

fyi I agree we need a QB, and I didn’t hate either of the next 2, but I’m not sure the 2nd or 3rd is much different from the next 2-3 guys. We’ve all seen it before where someone like Mayfield and Darnold go before guys like Allen and Jackson. A lot of it has to do with the organization and what else is in place around them to succeed. And right now im not sure that if either of those QBs came to the Commanders with the lack of other talent, it makes them any better of a player, or as an organization as a whole.

    Brian Urlacher says hello 👋

Well. I think the difference is that Dejean is listed as a CB in college (not every year but in 2023 he was) and we’re talking about him moving around and being a tweener at multiple positions in the NFL. Where as Urlacher was the tweener in college and he played generally LB in the nfl (other than his first season).

my point is this, in the first round you should be getting a guy that you think is going to be a solid starter at a specific position of need in your team. Not a Swiss Army knife that isn’t great at anything but able to do 3-4 different positions. To me, this kid looks like a go between of a safety and a CB, and will excel at special teams. I don’t see him as much more than a role player. Which is fine, but not worthy of a wasted #1 pick.

And for the record, bringing up a guy like Urlacher being drafted 24 years ago would be like anyone bringing up Len Dawson being one of the best ever. Completely different times. The game has changed. Not even in the same argument.

  14. I agree that o don’t see what makes him look so special to other people. To me he doesn’t jump off the page. I definitely wouldn’t take him in rd1. I could see a late 2nd or after for him as I think he’s a good athlete and can play multiple positions. But in the 1st rd I’m looking for a positional stud, someone that is dominant at their position. Not a guy that played one position In college but projects to something else in the pros.

Don't quote me, but I want to say that "experts" believe there's only 150 NFL prospects in this draft.  The Commanders can now select 11 of them.  If they really want to overhaul, they could.  It's a good draft for the offensive line, not so much for DE's or MLB though.

Thank you. We know we’re more than just 1-2 really good players away from being competitive at this point. We liked Maye and Daniels actually and thought about both at 2. But end of the day we have a ton of top 100 picks this year and already sitting on 4 picks in the first 2 round next year will get us a QB we like if we don’t get someone this draft at 12 or maybe later.

  16. 7 minutes ago, Virgil said:

My only argument with having this many picks, is that this is a crap year to have them.  With the NIL impact, this is a wickedly weak draft class.  With that being said, you have so many picks in the top 100, that it shouldn't impact you that much.  What sucks is, there are a few positions that don't even have first round grades, so building up the trenches and other areas, may not be great value in this draft.

I have my guys that I like in rds 2-4 that I think will help my team. Unfortunately for me, I won’t get a chance to draft them as we won’t get past rd1 before Thursday. But I do have ammo and am looking to trade back into the 1st rd to get potential players I am looking at. So if people are interested in moving back, the Commanders are all ears and have a buttload of picks.
