  1. Only the 2020 rookies have started on a 7-9 (not 6-10) team. Why would SF trade away their starting QB? Newton was the easiest option for now.
  2. He was a backup seeing starting time on his 7th NFL team. This is the tail end of his career. He'll be any team's cheapest starter not on a rookie contract. If the Chiefs value him, them can remind of of all of this and then give him a nice little raise. If they don't, he can see what his 8th team in 10 years offers him.
  3. we all read that article a few weeks ago. Then they cut them this week. Again, if he’s worth keeping, why wouldn’t they pay the couple of dollars required to keep what until now has been a career backup quality O lineman? He’ll cost almost nothing.
  4. Brutal at WR, that's for sure. Otherwise, not really. NE has only had 1st round picks in 3 of the past 6 drafts. Michel is the best RB in the division. Wynn is solid (out with the COVID for much of last season). Malcom Brown has been a starter all 6 years in the NFL--and that same draft got them Tre Flowers and Shaq Mason. Garapollo and Brissett were full time starters on other teams. Onewnu and Herron were solid rookies this year. Winowich is a find in the 3rd. Their Punter is an All Pro. Damien Harris stepped in for 700 this season at 5 per. Cowart started 14 games his second year. Thuney has started every game since he was drafted. James White is still there--one of the best catching RB in the league. Fleming is full time starter on the Giants O-line. Then there's Logan Ryan/Duron Harmon (both 2013 3rd rounders and full time starters still playing in the league), Jamie Collins, Hightower, Solder, Cannon, Vollmer, McCourty, Gronk, Edelman (7th rounder), Chung, Mayo, Merriweather, Gotskowski, Slater.... That's not so brutal.
  5. As their feature back, he has been in the league 3 seasons and played one complete season. He's trying to return from an ACL.
  6. Overall, Bills would have been better off with taking touchbacks on every kickoff.
  7. Seattle would have to get much more than Mack in a trade for Wilson...
  8. You haven't adequately described why a guy like Remmers would be made an unmatchable offer by another team. You simply assume he will (over and over). It's not a logical conclusion. They paid him under a million this past season and It's already being reported they are in discussions to re-sign him. Schwartz wasn't around to protect Mahomes after week 6, yet they would still win 10 more games and play in their second consecutive SB. During your search, did you ask what the Chiefs thought about the likelihood of Schwartz being in top playing shape week 1? Their answer might have been instructive...
  9. Yeah maybe he's not a back like that anymore... why would they make that decision before his 4th year?
  10. you had me at "He's missed 17 games over 2 seasons"....
  11. banging the UB coed caused some marital issues probably...
  12. again, losing Fisher and Schwartz are not surprise moves and make sense. Remmers, a 9th year (with 7 teams) journeyman, isn't going to break the bank.
  13. they’ve done the math, doc. This is clear. They came to a different conclusion than yours. That’s something they probably won’t announce, no....
  14. They kept scoring on the Bills without Fisher. As pointed out, these cuts could be seen coming without question. Sensible moves without a doubt. They don’t seem as doubtful about their O line plan as you do.
  15. Well since McD has gotten here, he has assigned a catch phrase to each season....
  16. for the most part, they did. vs Bills: Reiter, Wylie, Allegretti, Remmers, Fisher (who didn't finish the game-Chiefs continued to run up the score), Wisniewski vs Bucs: Reiter, Wylie, Allegretti, Remmers, Wisniewski (albeit at various position changes) Look, none of this should be shocking. Both of these guys are past 30 and just had surgery for major injuries that put their return to game shape for the season in doubt. As recently as early Feb, the team was saying Fisher might be back for August. Obviously, something changed in the player's prognosis that made this less likely. Two older linemen with an achilles repair and back surgery? A team that needed to clear cap space? Not a hard decision.
  17. i don’t think they are planning on saving money this year by him not making it to 12 games. He’s no more likely to miss that many games this year than any of the remaining 3 years after this
  18. point is they wouldn't be offering all that money.......an also structuring it assuming he plays less than 75% of the games to save them cap space. They are offering him that money expecting 16+ games per season.
  19. Why would they think he would not play even 12 games this season---and still sign him to a 44 million dollar 4 year deal?
