  1. I can't help but think that the Colts are not that well coached. Is Caldwell actually holding the Colts back? He was outsmarted by Payton in last year's Superbowl and has made some questionable calls during this season including a strange timeout late in the Jets playoff game. Talent and your superstar QB can only take a team so far... Comments?
  2. Spiller hasn't shown he deserved being 9th overall in draft at this point. But does Bulaga's play merit that 9th spot? Or is it appropriate for a late first round selection?
  3. some suggested edits to the original post.
  4. True. But the earlier point was that the supporting cast on offense and defense is also important. A QB can't win the game by himself.
  5. If Vick was not on a stacked team like Philly which has quite a few offensive weapons, would he have done as well?
  6. Actually , it goes way beyond that right? Jeff Fisher himself is up next in the owner's evaluations since he will be looking at the coaching of the team. No guarantee that he will be on the team next season. So to say that Jeff Fisher is the reason they got rid of VY might be a bit misleading.
  7. Ah yet another cliche about someone who just wins... From the AP article about VY being done posted in CNNSI: "Young is 30-17 in his five NFL seasons, but only 13-14 against teams finishing a season at .500 or better. He's also battled questions over his work ethic, leadership and injuries. He suffered a season-ending thumb injury on his right hand Nov. 21, tossed his shoulder pads into the stands and told off coach Jeff Fisher in front of the locker room before storming out."
  8. +1. Although Vick's comeback is certainly quite a story. People are not giving enough credit to Andy Reid and to a very stacked offense in Philly. What would happen if Vick was on another team that was not quite as talented or decently coached? And yes , Vick's QB numbers in Atlanta were not very good. He looked more like a running back then.
  9. Haven't we heard this cliche used many times before to describe the latest QB flavor of the month? Probably used to describe Clausen and Tebow last year?
  10. Where is The Wang from Sang when you need him? I remember he used to create "Lets see what Brian Brohm can do" threads all the time
  11. Can you explain to us again why it is good to lose?
  12. I didn't know that teams play to lose in the NFL? So I guess Carolina and Cinci must also be dumber than a box of rocks for winning this late and endangering their No 1 pick position? What makes you think Brian Brohm will ever start in the NFL? Rex Grossman at least has had a history of successful NFL starts with the Bears.
  13. Our receiving corps looks fine as it is. I don't see receiver as a key need for next season.
  14. Hmmm. Why did Newton leave Florida? What about his arrest for stealing someone's laptop that he threw out the window when the police showed ip? Was that also BS?
  15. Since we are contemplating such a trade why not go all out? Let's go for Brady Quinn! After all, a lot of experts on the board said he would be a top qb.
  16. +1 We have way to many whiners on this board.
  17. You are comparing apples oranges. Clarett played all of one year of college ball? How many seasons did Vick have under his belt in college and the NFL level?
  18. Kolb is not a free agent next year. His contract runs through the 2011 season...
  19. Agreed. Carolina has a lot of other holes to address. Would they really go for another QB as a number of folks here are saying?
  20. Brohm was picked in the 2nd round. I believe no 56 overall. Hardly a number 1 pick.
  21. Yup. I saw the game against Atlanta last season and watched a few preseasons too. Nothing there too impress any coaches IMO. What particular series of plays lead you to believe he is the second coming?
  22. The coaches see Brohm in practice all the time.... You have some insight that they don't? Would Brohm magically play lights out football when inserted into a game? Maybe they should put Brohm in to start against the Steelers. If he leads us to a win, no need to worry about Luck or another top ranked qb lol.
  23. I would have to agree. Bell may have looked promising in pre-season. But the fact that the Eagles released him--even though they are not exactly deep at running back--seems to say something.
