Why is everyone down on Bell? He didn't look that bad. I am not saying he is the answer but he might be. A LT in the first round would be a safe and prudent choice unless the QB from the Cinci Bearcats is there to draft. A first round tackle could challenge for either tackle spots or either guard spots if Wood moves to Center. Personally though I want a LB in the first round. Give Bell and Meredith the rest of the season and see what happens.

Me too. Maybin just can't play DE in this league. If he had killer speed he would have been able to show it by now. I can't believe Fewell hasn't tried to put Schobel and Maybin on the same side of the field at least a few times.

WTF - Schobel has been the defensive MVP this year....Denney is horse shat but with Maybin being better suited to play LB they need him for the DE rotation.

Not too bad today. Peppers got close a few times but all in all not too bad. The safety was horrible and the run game was inconsistent, but for the most part Fitzy had time to miss open WR's. If they could just stay healthy for a little while....

Wilson sucks. Donte will go back to SS. Byrd will stay at FS. None of us know if Byrd is any good in coverage or not but there is no way they can put him on the bench now. The INT's were bad throws and great reactions.

If indeed that is true, then he is doing it to get a college HC job not a pro job. Even in college the QB's get killed in the spread. in the NFL the QB wouldn't make it to October.

I can think of a little over 300 reasones why George Wilson should not be the starting SS. Let's see if you can guess what those are. I would like to see Whitner at strong and Byrd at free if Whitner is healthy. In obvious run downs Scott can come in and play SS and Whitner can move back to FS. Scott and Florence may actually be decent FA pick-ups. Hope Scott's ankle heels soon.

Agree with your premise but..... We had a Pro Bowl LT Great ones don't grow on trees and it is no longer a given drafting the "best" lineman always works out. Even Joe Thomas is not playing that well this year. We need two LB's ( I will not repeat all the arguements why Keith Ellison does not belong on an NFL roster) assuming Poz's glass arm heals and the Bills don't move Maybin to LB. Too soon to give up on Maybin. DL is terribly difficult to make the jump to the NFL. The Coach and Scouting staff need to be overhauled. This has been the source of all the problems since Bill Polian/John Bulter left. Do you see RW shelling out a ton of money for a top tier GM and Coach??? Nothing changes at the top so nothing changes.....

For a moment let us agree that DJ's firing of Schonert was a desperate move by a coach who knows this is his last chance. If that is true and Trent is the problem wouldn't he also make the switch at QB just like he did at OC. DJ knows it is the line's fault. Maybe if there was a running QB option like Vick or Young to switch to that could make yards with his legs DJ would make a switch at QB. I have no idea if Trent can be a good QB in this league but I can guarantee none of the rest of you do either. We had better hope the next GM/coach see's it that way and drafts a tackle and not a QB with our top 3 pick....
