  1. I think the priority, post T.O. signing, is a TE to further bolster our offensive arsenal. Looks more and more like Crabtree will fall out of the top 10. If that happens, a few teams will come knocking for a trade down. Fine with me as I beleive Pettigrew in the 20's is better than Pettigrew @ 11. Combine shmombine, the game of football is a lot different with the pads on than what you can do in a few agility drills.
  2. You better believe it!! Reed will make the pro bowl this year, mark my words!!
  3. Did you even listen to June's description of the Will & Sam. In Tampa's scheme he played the Will, which was to the 5-1 side. Here, the 5-1 is the Sam...therefor, we wouldn't be moving Mitchell, and June would play the side that he has been acustomed to. There is more to deffensive schemes than the name.
  4. Last I heard he was scheduled for a visit but we found out he wanted $7M a ear and we said fugetaboutit! Case-in-point...even if we were going to spend $$, no one wants to play for an inept organization!
  5. Anyone remember the movie "Major League?" Loading up a team with a bunch of "who are these f#$%&*@ guys?" in hopes they will tank so the owner can sell the team for a premium, which everyone else in the real world would consider a steal...Where's our sh_t-burger?
  6. TRUE. This organization is becoming/has become a joke in the NFL. Ralphie wants more talent, yet with the FA sigings to date, we've improved in 1 area, depth. Ever signing has been of 2nd or 3rd tier players that will have ZERO impact on the level of talent in the product that is put on the field. I for one, am sick of this organization failing to uphold their responsibilities; 1.) to put the best possible product on the field, 2.) ensure the best possible return for thei shareholders (satisfy their fans), & 3.) MAKE THE F#@!%&$ PLAYOFFS!!
  7. good post...now go kick yourself in the nutts and never write another one! Kidding! But seriously, this is a semi serious discussion board, at least back yourself up...
  8. I really like this mock! However, regardless of his combine, I'm still a fan of Pettigrew. With your trade down scenario I would no longer have a problem taking him with our first pick. If that were to happen, I would take Sammie Lee Hill from Stillman with our 4th rd selection. Big, quick, athletic guy. Only knock is "man among boy's" in lower level competition.
  9. If we sign Fred Taylor, you better believe we'll be shopping Lynch, like it or not. Personally I love the guy but his pass catching ability is subject and so is longevity with that kind of running style.
  10. back to my point...he's not a redzone threat...5 TD's in 2 years...
  11. Me too! He's made strides in improving his game over the last three seasons in Houston. Coming off his best reception year, 70 for 862...not too shabby for a TE, he should demand a good price...but a 1st and 3rd for that kind of production... This would be the worst FA pick up EVER. If Fine and /or Shouman started all 16 games, I bet they would have similar impact.
  12. Agreed, but what about giving us, the fans, something to get excited about? Making some cuts, to the inevitables anyway, and freeing up some dollars will essentially tell us that they truly are going to make a "splash" in free agency, as they promised!
  13. If he runs a 4.4 and we don't pick him @ 11....it'll be a typical Bills move...no surprise!
  14. A lot of people said the same thing about London Fletcher...This situation seems to be a win win in my eyes.
  15. Hey now!! With the Armchair GM comments!! I have mixed feelings on this issue. I like McGee because of what he brought to the table in the return game, but now we have McLovin and Roscoe Peeko Train, so there's no reel need to expose our #1 corner to ST anymore. Plus the fact that he was dependable and consistant....however, he's a slightly better than average corner at best, by no means is he a shut down type DB. Greer, on the other hand, though a bit undersized, has got a great nose for the ball, excellent closing and recovery speed, and isn't afraid to stick his nose in there in run D. With another year of experience, he's likely to become an elite corner. Even if he's more suited for M-2-M, he can learn and excel in a C2. The catch is re-signing Greer and not trading McGee will hit the cap and make FA that much more of a bargain shopping scenario, especially if/when Peter's is resigned. Letting Greer walk and extending McGee is the safe bet, and is more likely to happen because we probably won't get back what McGee is worth...this will be an interesting scenario to follow.
  16. hate to play the race card, but looks to me like a classic case of profiling here. Who's car is it? Where was the gun? How was it determined to be ML's?...Registration...? If so, that means he's licensed to carry it...How many people do you know that are licensed to carry a gun have a holster for it to be NOT "concealed"...Looks like the cops are reaching on this and because of ML's status as an elite NFL running back, they're trying to make an "example" arrest. This is probably similar to Clayton's train of thought...
  17. Agreed, but I can't see him just keep digging deeper into a whole mess of shtuff, because of the PR nightmare on thier hands from retaining Jerkon, and not follow through on comments like that. Don't be surprised if they go on a spending spree for elite talent at the high profile positions...
  18. Good point, but you are still failing to heed Ralphy Boy's words....He is not satisfied with the talent on this team, he's looking for immediate upgrades. Fine could very well be a good/great tight end sometime in the next 2-3 seasons, maybe even making strides this year. But seriously, I don't think the "inner circle-jerk" ( I stole that nickname) is gonna wait for any more players to progress. With the check down offense we run, the TE is an intregal position and aside from C, is a close tie with #2 WR for the biggest need for an upgrade. Insert Steve Johnson's name in this post for the same reasoning we need a viable #2 WR...IMHO
  19. Everyone seems to be overlooking Charlie Batch. Yes, he's getting up there, but is still capable of comming in when Trent is down and managing the field. The biggest upside is that he will be a vet presence who could absolutely do wonders for Trent's mental game. He is roll player who will come in knowing he's the # 2 guy and his foremost responsibility is to take care of Trent's psyche for a couple 2-3 years.
  20. Back to Ralphy's wishes to improve the talent on the offensive side of the ball... Fine is a ? Compare Scaiffe's write up to the top three TE's in the draft and you basically have the same guy. Pettigrew fits best because he can block well, but he's rated too high and I can't see us taking him with the 11th overall pick. If for some ungodly reason we do want a TE in Rd. 1 look for a trade down to net us an additional late round pick and take Pettigrew between 20 & 25. Coffman has impressed the pants off me with his route running, soft hands, and RAC ability, but his knock is his "average blocking skills." Don't know much about Casey, but a few of you seem to be pretty high on him. I'd like to pursue Scaiffe and give Fine a chance to progress rather than bringing in a rookie TE and expecting him to be an impact player. I'm just concerned that we'll over pay him and he won't live up to the high expectations the franchise, as well as the Fans, put on him. Forget Daniels, way too pricey.
  21. Wow, your thought is contrary to most every NFL analyst's mock draft. Coffman's stock is rising and most have hom gone b4 we pick in rd 2. Do you know something that the rest of the NFL world doesn't?
  22. Ralphy boy wants to bolster the talent on the offense. By short term, I mean a 2 yr contract, at most. Josh Reed is meant to play in the slot, where I think he'll have his best year so far if we are able to move him there. Hardy will be coming off a major injury from which his rehab may extend into the first few weeks of the upcoming season, possibly on PUP, besides that, he needs some experience under his belt and work on his route running. I like Steve J, but he needs too much work to fill in as a viable #2 threat. I think this may be an area we address in FA. My wish list, in order: 1.) Amani Toomer 2.) Reggie Williams 3.) Bryant Johnson 4.) Michael Clayton Any thoughts?
  23. Peters is a dick for, Boldin wants out, Baltimore says they can't keep both CB's and can't afford to keep that lB corp together.
