Byrd signed tender [update: may still want to be traded]
papazoid replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
at the Bills discretion, Byrd is under team control for a minimum of one more season via use of the franchise tag for the second time in a row (+120% increase) for $8.3 million. there is no doubt in my mind that if Byrd doesn't except a reasonable long term offer, the bills will use the franchise tag again and we may be back doing the same dance all over again. -
Does Goodwin make you rethink the McKelvin deal?
papazoid replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sometimes ya gotta crazy talk to get noticed around here....laffin anyways, McKelvin can't flip his hips for change of direction, his timimg to jump/leap for the ball is comical, only had 1 interception last season because he doesn't look at the ball coming so I predict one will hit him in the back of the head this year, seems to be a little injury prone. he has played mostly slot corner and will be heavily tested this season on the outside as most teams will prefer to pick on him and avoid Gilmore. on the plus side he is fast as hell, is an absolute stud ALL-PRO kick returner. hopefully he finally shows some upside as a corner. -

Does Goodwin make you rethink the McKelvin deal?
papazoid replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
#1 - McKelvin can't play a lick of cornerback. #2 - he makes $4.25 mil/yr (not $5 mil)3/9/2013: Signed a four-year, $17 million contract. The deal contains $6 million guaranteed -- a $4 million signing bonus and McKelvin's first-year base salary. McKelvin is eligible for an annual $50,000 workout bonus throughout the contract's life. 2013: $2 million, 2014: $2.1 million (+ $1 million roster bonus), 2015-2016: $3.1 million (+ $750,000 roster bonus), 2017: Free Agent http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4682/leodis-mckelvin #3- his money should have been used on Levitre. #4- now that he is the starting CB, it is unlikely he will return kicks or punts. -

LB Nigel Bradham Charged with Majijuana Possesion
papazoid replied to brucethomas34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Buffalo Bills now wait for the NFL to decide whether the recent incident involving LB Nigel Bradham is a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, and whether any sanctions might be imposed. That’s the word from Bills GM Doug Whaley, who met with the media at noon Tuesday at St. John Fisher College. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2013/08/20/whaley-says-league-is-reviewing-bradham-incident/ -

here's a scary thought.....Gronk is so good that Fitz would probably still be the QB. Troup is a bust and will likely be cut.

A Review of Roster Designations & Eligibilities http://insidefootball.com/2013/07/22/a-review-of-roster-designations-eligibilities/ very restrictive rules have been put in place to eliminate/restrict the old practice of "stashing" players on IR.

the second round pick is the one that really hurts when you consider who the very next pick was: 41st overall Buffalo - Troup 42nd overall New England - Gronkowski

The Bills' old lease with the state and county was to expire on July 31. Under the terms of the new agreement, Erie County will pay $41 million for upgrades at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The state will pay for $54 million in renovations. The Bills will contribute $35 million. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/03/nfl-gives-blessing-to-bills-lease-deal.html

Bills ticket office would not sell me season tickets
papazoid replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my god man, get a grip. now that you "know" the policy, you will be able to get the season tickets you desire in your price range for next season and beyond. as far as this year goes, you claim they will sell you individual tix in the non-premium areas you prefer and that you don't care about preseason. the only down side is you possibly sit in a different section each game and lose one year of seniority. look at that as an opportunity to check out different viewing vantage points so that next year you know exactly what you prefer, like row 10 and below is to low or the upper deck may be too high or the endzone is ok. as far as cost goes, I have seats in section 110 lower bowl , 35 yard line. I pay the season ticket price of $77 each game times 9 games (7 reg & 2 pre) for a total of $693 per season/per seat. if you divide that $693 by just the 7 regular season games, that gives you a budget of $99 per game, which is probably exactly what the bills would charge for individual games. you can also take your chances on the after market where you will probably get to buy tix for even less, especially the later games. I also have 6 season tickets in sec 202 (rockpile) and pay only $25 each per game. the bills website CLEARLY states their season ticket availability. all this ranting and raving for a temporary minor inconvenience. -
How much cash do we have left to spend on players?
papazoid replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if you mean cap space, then it's $21,910,064.00 as per the NFLPA updated 4 times a day. https://www.nflplayers.com/reports/RunPublicReport.aspx?report=top51 if you mean cash to cap, that's an internal bills thing separate from the cap. -
