Last night, the news said another bear was spotted just east of Chestnut Ridge Park.

The news today said that a young bear probably kicked out of the den was spotted on the banks of Cayuga Creek just downstream of Como Lake Park. Recent years have had sightings in Amherst/Clarence, Cheektowaga (near Aero Drive) and West Seneca. Quite a while ago the State Troopers found a young bear dead hit by a car, on the side of the 190 ear the Smith Street exit in Buffalo.

I lived on Lidell and then Wick Streets (57-61) until we moved to Cheektowaga. They are both across Broadway from St. John Kanty's and Edwin's. Lots of vacant houses and lots there now. Took my mom down there in 2017 or 18 to see where we used to live (never stopped). The house on Lidell was gone. The house on Wick was there , but we couldn't tell if it was occupied (but still painted the same color). The house to one side was boarded up and the other side was a vacant lot.

I saw an interview with Rzeznik where he talked about walking to Edwin's music store on Broadway with his accordion for lessons. That was right down the street from where I lived from age 2 to 4.

On the noon news, they did say the blasts will occur every other day for a bout 5 weeks.

SV40 was the first virus sequenced. It is asymptomatic in Rhesus monkeys, although can cause tumors in rats and guinea pigs. Before 1963 SV0 was found it be contaminating the polio vaccine because of the tissue culture cells the virus was grown in. Since 1963 the polio vaccine was SV40 free. A 35 year study found NO difference the cancer rates in people getting the vaccine pre or post 1963. I haven't read papers on the details of the vaccine, but the presence of SV40 promoters in the vaccine could be possible. Promoters are the molecular " on/off switches" for genes. The SV0 promoter could be used to make sure that enough of the COVID spike protein is produced to elicit an immune response. Promoters are short DNA sequence that bind to ribosomes which produce the protein. They do not contain the protein sequence that produce SV40 proteins. I have a Phd in Molecular biology and actually grew SV40 in tissue culture cells approximately 35 years ago for a proof of concept of a technique that I developed to be able to map DNA replication origins. I have a good friend that is a building manager in SF, just off the expressway just south of the Bay Bridge. It s a small (4 story) office building. At least once a week, the custodial staff has to hose down s**t off the sidewalk. They had to cut down trees (not big ones) in front where bums would climb up to a flat roof on top of the first floor and try to break in the building. At least they don't have tents on the sidewalk.
