Probably from the Polish immigrants saying $3.80 and pronouncing the $ as "dollar". I can do a good Polish old lady imitation. "Me and Sophie go and take de NFT bus down to da Broadvay market and then go to de VFdubbya post to play da Bingo. Down where the houses are side-by-each. They have dat good salad potatoes dere. I worked with a woman from Hamilton out here in CA and she said I did a good Canadian accent too. Living away from Buffalo now, I can tell the accent there. I noticed on COPS that even the black cops have a slight Polish accent.

I've always said Obama is a d**k! This proves it. Molson and Elliot already have bought 5 each!

That's too hard a job for him. I think he's in charge of putting the pickles on the burgers at McD's. -
It's pronounced a dollar tree eighty. Have to have that Polish accent in there.

It's early here. I'm watching two and a half men in a few minutes. I could keep this up for at least 4 more hours, but I have to clean up the dinner dishes. -

We are for cleaning the environment and keeping it clean. Actually I would say that the environment is much cleaner than it has been before in the US. The environmental laws, which were non-existent in the 50s and early 60s are very strict. Out here in CA when the air pollution is bad, they call a "Spare the Air Day". In the SF area, two summers ago we had maybe 2 or 3, caused by temperature inversions, where warmer air aloft kept the pollution concentrated at the lower altitudes. These were usually very hot days (105-115 where I live). This was a lot less than the 10-15 they had regularly in the past. This past summer, we had a lot more because of the hundreds of wild fires, the vast majority of which were caused by lightning. When we don't have the fog rolling in, which is often, you can get spectacular views of SF from Oakland or even near Palo Alto , down the peninsula over 20 miles away. The fires were so bad this year we could smell the smoke from the nearest fire which was about 50 miles away. It was so thick that the ridge 2 miles from my house was almost obscured. I was in San Jose one day in June. There was a massive fire (at least 50 square miles burnt) about 100 miles south. The wind shifted and it looked like a thunderstorm was rolling in. It was the smoke. Everything had an eerie orange glow. I even thought I saw snowflakes. It was ash from the fire coming down. -

Because they objectively look at the science and see that it is badly done. Do you do anything besides post links and hurl insults? Did you even read the list of links you posted? Some of them do a good job of refuting man-made global warming, especially the one with the photos of temperature stations right next to a trash burning barrel and next to an AC unit. -

As Tom and I have shown you and Conner don't know how science is done. You are right, I am not not an expert on global warming, but I do know when bad science when I see it. As I keep asking, what is your science education? What do you do for a living? Are you ashamed of it? -

Elliot, I ask once again, what is your background? Do you work at McD's on the fryolator drive thru window, or the grill? You have read some of mine. I have worked on Saccharomyces cerevisiae (bakers yeast), herpes, trying to develop gene therapy vectors and candida albicans (yeast infections). I have published scientific papers. What scientific background do you have? -

Do you have any reading comprehension? I said that. But the theory has to be proven by empirical data (like seeing the apparent position of the stars near the sun moved). The IPCC and Manbearpig (Al Gore) won the Nobel PEACE prize, not the Medicine, Chemistry or Physics ones. The Peace prize is a political piece of crap. There's a woman who has been infinitely more deserving of it than any recipient in the recent past. A 92 year old woman who lives in eastern Europe single handedly was responsible for rescuing over 100 Jews from the Nazis. Don't say, "Oh , she can wait until later", as they are not given out posthumously. WTF do you mean by this??? Do you understand science at all or do you think scientists stand around in robes and wizard's hats and wave our magic wands? I put forth a hypothesis (another big word) that I could make the yeast glow by inserting the luciferase gene, but first had to change 10 codons (amino acid coding sequences). I had to do this by PCR , clone each step into bacteria and then take the plasmid and put it into Candida albicans (yeast), where it would recombine with the yeast genome and insert the gene in the place I wanted it to go. I had to do with every mutation I made so if it glowed before all ten were changed, I could save some work. It didn't glow until I changed all ten. If these words are too big for you, look them up. -

You fail to understand science. You fail to understand the scientific process. The global warming priests' "experiments" cannot be tested to see if they are reproducible. Have you ever read a real scientific paper? You have to state every step in minute detail so others can reproduce your experiments. Computer models are not experiments. They can lead you to design better experiments, but are not experiments in themselves. An example- astrophysicists can make models of what happens inside stars. Their models give them ideas of what to look for out in space to prove their theory is true. The global warmers run their models and use them as proof. An example I did myself - I made yeast (the ones that cause yeast infections) glow with the luciferase gene that makes fireflies glow. From the literature, I found that the code for one amino acid in the yeast had to be changed for that species. I couldn't just say change the code and it will work. I had to go and do it. People did not really believe that space was warped by gravity as Einstein had postulated until someone did the experiment in 1918. During a total eclipse, they showed that the stars near the sun positions had shifted. This was due to the gravity of the sun warping space. This has also been shown on a greater scale by gravitational lenses caused by an entire galaxy. If we go extinct, so be it, if not, we will evolve into another species. -

Sit in the country and think about the billions and billions (even trillions if you include bacteria) of animals producing even more CO2 into the atmosphere by exhaling. Lets kill all the animals. Think about even one volcano producing more gasses than in one eruption than man can make in several years. -

The religion of Global Warming does not use reproducible experiments to prove their points, the same as creationists. If we can't find an explanation for the warming, it must be man, the same as when the creationists say that a biological mechanism is so complicated (to them) that god must have created it. I want to know your backgrounds (why not give them?) to see if you actually know how real science is done. -

Answer my question- what is your scientific background? -
Newest thing out here is the fireplace cops. They have "spare the air"days when the pollution gets high. I can see it in the summer. Now they say if there are certain conditions (seems like it only happens when it's cold (it is getting down to the low 40s here)at night that they are banning using your fireplace or wood burning stove unless it is your only source of heat. They have "fireplace cops" going around on those nights to look for smoke from chimneys and will fine you.

Right Mr "WTC7 was an inside job". What science background do you have exactly? And Elliot, I'm still waiting for you to reply too. I agree with Tom, global warming may be happening (I'm still on the fence with this because of the location of reporting stations on places like roofs, next to AC units, etc), but the people who treat it as a religion have shown no scientifically verifiable and reproducible proof that it is man caused. Computer models are not scientific proof. -
The Raiders tried it today where the holder tossed it under his leg. Same result as in the Nebraska game. Only KC TD so far today.

Elliot, You too can also belong to the AAAS and the ASM (I'll let you figure out which ones they are) if you subscribe to the journal Science or any of the ASM journals. I did when I was in grad school. What the hell is the ASM doing having an opinion on global warming?
