Few years ago in Philly, I'm taking a 10 PM or so USAir flight to Buffalo (one of those 50 seaters).First, they move us about 3 gates, as our original plane had a problem. I was the second on, and the lights go out in the cabin. Get off and they can't get them on again. About 10:45 they say it is fixed. We get on and the pilots start the checklist. The problem comes up again. Say it is a card in the computer. The mechanics go over to the original plane and take the card out of that one and put it in ours. Were OK. Had to wait 5 more minutes because the tow motor won't start (it was Christmas time). As we pull back we all applaud. Saw the rest of the ground crews walking to the exit in the terminal. we were the last plane to leave the terminal that night. Got into Buffalo about 12:45 AM. At least the crew kept us appraised of what was going on at each step. I hate when they don't say anything about the delay. Last Christmas, I was flying into Charlotte. About 90 seconds before touchdown, we suddenly pull up. As soon as the plane made a 180, the crew got on and told us that a plane had not cleared the runway and that we were waved off. We finished the circle and came right in.

When did that ever happen?

Doesn't reflect that business property owners are now getting foreclosure notices. I do environmental due diligence and our business went down in November 2007. It has stayed down since. The jobs were refinancing of loans. They dried up in February and since then, a lot of the jobs we have had are pre-foreclosures. We only handle businesses and apartment complexes, no private residential properties. It's making my job harder because I have to talk to the owner/manager of the property and they don't even want me there. In addition, we are a subcontractor of the due diligence company the bank hires and almost all the time, I have no idea what bank it is for (except the WaMu building I did). Luckily, taking photos from the street is not illegal, and I haven't had anyone threaten me, although I did have one person tell me to pound sand.

Wrong. In February, I went to St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA to protest William Ayers speaking there. I heard that he was going to be there from the radio. At least 300-400 people showed up,without a professional sign in sight. No politician spoke out at the protest, just average people that wanted the students to know that a murderer who is a friend of the President was there . The tea parties were grass root ones, not organized by politicians. In fact, several where politicians from the right tried to speak, they were shouted down, because they backed the tax and spending of the left.

It is just a manner of time that we will start detecting those. Some will be at the right distance for life. They may have bacterial life or some life more advanced than ours. Who knows? Water and the building blocks for life are too prevalent out there in the universe. In the first test of the equipment, they found that the two sides of the planet they looked at have a 1,000 degree difference, and they haven't even finely calibrated it yet.
