Back in the70s my dad worked or a trucking company that hauled meat like sides of beef etc. They had to go down to the Peace Bridge to transfer a load from a Canadian truck to one of theirs. Thet got it almost done and the customs inspector examines it and sees something wrong with the paperwork. He starts questioning each laborer which took about 2-3 hours, until a boss came to straighten it out. Customs put a seal on the truck with had to be removed by customs in NYC, which is where the load was headed.

I worked at Stanford while Chelsea went there. Undergrad was a joke. At the time you could resign from a class the last week of the semester and it didn't appear on the transcript. If you flunked a class, you could take it over again and the flunk would not appear. It was well known around the campus that Chelsea would get ****faced every weekend at the DKE parties.

Power went out for 7 hours Sunday. Today at about noon,I was driving at Walden and Union. The traffic lights worked, but the businesses were dark.

Wouldn't have watched it, but I had no choice. . Our power was out here from 4 untiL 11.

Saw on the weather channel that Sausilito got a mudslide today. They had to rescue 3 people.

Many of you are too young to remember that HBO went off the air at about midnight. International/ Adelphia cable would then start showing soft R movies with the getting close to X-rated by about 4 AM (ones with Harry Reems). We would go to my friends house with a case of beer and watch until 4 or 5 AM. In case my memory was bad, I asked ny neighbor about this (he recently retired from Spectrum) and he verified this.

He was sleeping for 14 of those minutes.
