The MMR came out when I was in around 3rd grade. Got Measles and Rubella but not mumps. Got the MMR vaccine as soon as it came out. Never knew anyone that got the mumps before the vaccine. I remember in 1st grade (1963), the teacher going down the aisle in the morning and looking on the kids backs for the measles and telling the kid to go to the nurse.

Read after my last post that her mom said that she probably rejected the liver and that started during the last year. You have to take anti-rejection meds the rest of your life several times a day. I have to take 9 pills (3 different meds per day). Had to go get blood tests to check the levels weekly at first , but then slowly spaced them out so now I go monthly. Of course, even if you follow the regimen exactly, your body can reject the transplant. Plus there is no equivalent if a liver "dialysis" to fall back on as there is with kidneys.

Sounds like an inefficient local government. My mom dates on the 321st of the month. Before the end of the month we got a letter saying her benefits were terminated.because of COVID we had to wait 10 days bury her. Assign as the county got the death certificate from the Hospice or the undertaker, they notified SS. That letter came before she was in the ground. Your brother could have also gone to the local SS office.

I doubt she had the liver transplant this week. They may have announced it this week. I had a kidney transplant and then caught the flu in the ICU. That is even bigger surgery. They want to have you in the hospital a few weeks to be sure the new organ is working well. Also spent a week in rehab to get my strength and stamina back up.

Only time there was driving through I-80 in 1995 while moving to CA. LLots of exits on the map, but most were just roads going N-S into the hills. I( think that was where I put the radio on scan and it went around the dial back to the station I was on.
