  1. I'd be interested to know on what side of the ball and what position and at what level of NCAA play. If on offense, I'd be interested in the type of sets your coaches used.

    Thanks.

    GO BILLS!!!

Oh no! you should know better by now. Your gonna get a long answer.

    no disrpespect Alpha

  2. FTR, Cutler threw the perfect pass to win that game vs. us. Right into the hands of his receiver at the back of the endzone. If it weren't for the picture perfect slap by Reggie Corner, we'd have broken our string of 7-9 with a 6-10 record.

Remember that picture perfect pass to Kawika Mitchell in the 4th quarter in clutch time? I couldn't of scripted it better

  3. He's actually very accurate - he has a staggeringly high completion rate for a QB in only his second season (65.5 percent), and just from watching him, he tends to hit guys in stride. He doesn't throw many INTs (10 in 374 attempts last season), actually, and I think you're tricked by the fact that he doesn't throw many TDs either. TD throws have nothing to do with his INT frequency - that ratio is an irrelevant stat when it comes to judging accuracy. In that calculus, a TD throw is just another completion.

    Very good point!!

He throws very few interceptions per pass attempt, much less than the league average, and much much less than 1st full year qb's.

Also about this checkdown, that is absurd. Has anyone seen what The Patriots do, I mean, come on!! How many passes does welker catch within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

But lets be real here, to totally squash that argument. Trent has an above average yards per attempt average. Case closed!!

There is little doubt from people who are non biased that believe that Trent is a very accurate passer. The guy played well in his first full year, and I think most people who don't have any bias one way or another recognize this.

Trent's second full year, providing he stays healthy will be considerably better than his first.

    I can't wait

  4. http://walterfootball.com/draft2007QB.php

A link I could fine and the site said he threw the worse pass he ever saw.

    Hey genius

lets see what else he said about the others that they walterfootball liked.

lets take a look, btw these are the only other ones they commented on

Drew Stanton Michigan State 6-3 226 55.7 Threw extremely well and stood out as the top QB at the Combine.

Troy Smith Ohio State 6-0 225 58.5 Didn't run; on banquet circuit. Great five-step out passes.

Chris Leak Florida 5-11 209 -- Threw some great deep balls. Ran 4.75 40. May have moved into third round.

Toby Korrodi Central Missouri 6-3 234 63 Fastest ball speed at Combine; definitely got noticed.

Zac Taylor Nebraska 6-2 216 -- Solid out throws.

    Yup, very successful careers

  5. I dont know if that was the goal given we didnt have the lead in 3 of the games during our 4-0 start. We had to come from behind late in the 4th against Jax, Raiders, and Rams...if it was the goal, it sure wasnt working...

    Alpha

just like clockwork, you chime in regarding Trent. You are overly critical. he has had 1 full season, and he has done better than most do in their first year. Fact is he did have a very high completion pct., winning record, higher than avg qb rating, yards per completion avg. then most do in their first year. That is a fact. Not to mention for a very mediocre team, who has had really an anemic WR combo and no viable TE.

For someone who has these numbers, you are very critical of his first year of play. I would think that you people would be encouraged of what he accomplished in his first year. I am that is for sure, and I'm looking very forward to next year.

You can save this post and throw it in my face down the road if I am wrong. What I am saying is that IF he stays healthy, and there are no earth shattering injuries, then not only will he have a winning record, but he will have a qb rating of over 90 with over 20tds thrown, %65 completion avg. and less than 15 ints.

  6. Exactly, that was my reaction too.

I tell you what is even more laughable

The Cowboys gave up a first-round pick in 2009, plus a third- and sixth-rounder that year for Williams and a seventh-round pick in '10, and then on top of that payed him $45 million

Detroit finally made a good move,

they must be thinking this --->

  7. The Bills stand the most to win, but as far as players are concerned.

I think Trent, Jauron and T.O have the largest stake at hand.

If T.O has a big year, his legacy is in tact, he is seen as someone who makes a difference and he gets paid mega dollars next year.

If Trent Edwards has a good year, he will stay as the qb and will get a huge contract.

If the Bills make the playoff, he keeps his job.

As far as player stats are concerned, Trent Edwards could benefit tremendously.

Josh Reed I believe will benefit statistically as much as anyon other than Trent Edwards. I see him with over 70 receptions this year, I believe the short intermediate route will be open all day long.

Lee Evans will benefit if we decide to throw the ball over the top, you would have to believe that defenses will be double teaming much less with their safety's than before.

Marshawn Lynch and Freddy Jackson should have lots of 7 man fronts, if we our O-Lineman block decent, then they should have very strong years, and considering T.O and Josh Reed are excellent blockers this should only help, and just imagine if we get Pettigrew.

T.O statistically, I don't see him having a tremendous year, maybe 1000 yards receiving 10 td's, which I would be very happy. I think more than anything his value that T.O has to gain, is that he can help a team get to the playoffs, show that he can still produce and not be a locker room cancer.

  8. I never said give up on him or that he had no talent...YOU said you wouldnt take 5 1st round picks for him and that NO tackle in this draft will ever be as good as he is]...You are the one who started the discussion on talent, not me. I only responded to the outrageous claim he is worth more than 5 1st round picks and that really bold statement of you claiming no tackle in this years draft will ever be as good as him when this is a good draft for them...

I know he has talent, and I am not arguing it. I am just saying, what makes him special other than the fact you have been TOLD he is special. I mean, its not like he makes sports center highlights or the camera follows lineman every play and you can sit back and go "wow, he is special". The fact remains, he still is living on his reputation based on one year of superb play.

People make excuses for him because he held out last year, but he should have come around as the year progressed, and he didnt...its not like he had a slow start and caught fire, he struggled all year. Look at Manning, he missed pre season with an injury, started a little slow, and then got back into form a handful of games into the season. Peters, never did that and was getting abused even late in the season. Holding out is NO excuse for his entire season being subpar...

Again, I am not saying he isnt a good player. I only addressed your over the top claims. By the way, he played down, even below his CURRENT contract that is still good for 2 years...so what has he done to deserve the contract HE wants? Shouldnt he earn it? Having one great year 2 years ago doesnt warrant a huge contract today in my book...He should have to go out this year and EARN that conract like he should have last year. And when he does, pay the man...until then, he is already under a fair contract based on his play last year...

Hey Alpha, you have to change your offseason wish list again :P

back to topic, of course we would trade him for 5 first round draft picks, but that will never happen.

I've always been a big believer of paying someone based on potential not reward. Usually if you reward someone who has played very well, then most likely you are going to overpay that player moving forward.

The problem as we all know is that Peter's former agent was a dumbazz and didn't value his ability correctly.

He was right to complain about his contract, for the simple fact that he had 3 years left remaining. he hired a big shot agent, and his agent gave him advice. You can't blame him for listening to the agent.

Now he did have a bad year by his standards, but you still have to pay the man his potential value. He's done it before, not just in the one year you mention, but he did it at the RT position as well, so he has had two good years.

Also, when a player has had very strong years, then you know he can do it, now it is just a matter of compensating him fairly. If you don't compensate him, well....

It's obvious what the results are. So sometimes, GM's just have to suck it up, and do what is best for the team and put the best product on the field. Paying your most talented O Lineman his value is a good decision. Hopefully we do that and we don't let him walk away.

Cuz if we don't, then I can just see Peters becoming an All Pro or Pro Bowl LT Tackle for Philadelphia for the next five years, while we would have drafted some ?? coming out of college who turns out to be just average. It's a crap shoot.

  9. You are retarded. Jason Peters is not close to being the best left tackle that ever walked the earth, so control yourself. If we could get two first round picks for him, that would be a tremendous deal. He may be wanting some unbelievable contract that is not realistic for the Bills to give him. The guy is a headcase, plain and simple. I am sure we could find someone in the first round to replace him, and get another stud as well. We would be sitting pretty with 3 first round picks.

    oh really?

your sure that we can find another stud to replace him. If that is the case, you should be working as a scout :P

amazing how people believe we can just find studs as LT's like it is nothing hard to do

  10. SO the Arizona Qb was hampered so much he only threw for close to 400 yards, 3 TD's IN THE SUPER BOWL, AGAINST PROBABLY THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE, but that Gandy guy was the reason Arizona lost. Wow, I wish our left tackle let players harrass our Qb's enough to get 400 yards per game.

Do you even read what you write?

I'm not just saying this to argue with you, but when I watched that game, I remember thinking to myself, how glad I was to not have that loser in Gandy. He absolutely was getting burnt time in and time out by the Steelers with their edge rush. The game was so close VABills, that you would have to be naive to think that if they had strong play from the LT position that it wouldn't of changed the outcome of the game.

The example you make of Gandy is a bad one, and doesn't support your argument, if anything it hinders it.

  11. I am glad to see that the general consensus on this board is for keeping Peters. Proven LT's are too hard to find. It is a crap shoot in the draft.

To tell you the truth, I don't believe that Philly would even trade their two 1st round picks for him. Having said that, This would be the only condition that I would consider if I were a part of the Bills FO.

It just doesn't make sens that we would do this. We made the move for T.O, this is an important year, do or die time. Bills fans are excited, we have some real weapons both in the backfield and WR's, and now we have Trent in his second full season, which he is expected to and should improve.

Taking away blind side protection would be insane, unless we KNEW we had someone who could do the job.

  12. Yeah, because Peters clearly lost all of his god given ability.

Sorry, but Peters has talent that not more than 2 tackles in this league have. Its rare to find. I'd take my chances that he returns to form before I pin our offensive production on a rookie left side of the line and tackles who don't come close to Peters' potential.

    I gotta agree.

No way do we trade a peters for an unproven tackle.

  13. I do.

Most teams are running the 3-4 these days, and there isn't much call for a 4-3 DE who had 3 sacks and ran a 4.8 40.

    Well, maybe your right.

But you yourself said that the 40 time isn't that important, and if you believe your right, then you gotta believe that other knowledgable GM's will be thinking the same.

Btw, did you see him at the senior Bowl? He blew everyone up. 3 sacks alone in that game.

Mayock, who has been very accurate with his calls has him rated as the #1 DE.

I don't see him getting out of the 1st round, but I hope your right, I'd sure love to have him

  14. My day would begin with the tradedown that will result when the Eagles realize they can CHOOSE their RB, TE, or WR in Round 1 with a trade up to #11.

The Bills give their 4th Rounder in the deal, getting the #21 and #28 picks.

1-Brandon Pettigrew TE----the blocking receiver that Royal wasn't.

1-Peria Jerry DT-----Watch how Stroud-Jerry in the middle makes Schobel and Ayers look good.

2-Robert Ayers DE---Anyone see him at Tennessee?

3-Kraig Urbik OG----The best run blocker in the draft

5-Courtney Greene SS----Rutgers. Free Safety will be Donte.

6-Gartrell Johnson RB-----Big Back with a heavy hammer.

    7-Graham Harrell QB------Nice competition at #3.

As much as I would love this, do you really see Ayers making it out of the first round?

  15. I'm sorry, but you're nuts. Heath Miller actually has some speed. Miller was the go-to guy at UVa and provides a distinct passing threat in Pittsburgh.

If you read the report, the big weakness for Pettigrew is that he doesn't have speed or good route running ability. So basically, Robert Royal all over again

Your definitely in the minority if you think Pettigrew and Royal are the same.

Also, and I'm just saying this for your sake, so you don't repeat looking silly again.

You might want to verify what you think before you type it. I'm just sayin

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...yers/57373.html

4.79 40 time for Heath Miller

Your right, he is much faster than Pettigrew :P

  16. I can see us finishing second or third.

The Jets offense isn't looking too good but their defense should be good. The dolphins still need a wide reciever and I don't seeing them winning as many games as last season with the improvement of the AFC East's defenses.

Anything could happen. This is a year where I could make the argument for first in the division or fourth.

    between 2nd and 4th :P

    but seriously 2nd and 4th.

Jets I think are worse off then last year, they have no qb and poor WR's. The Dolphins I thought over achieved last year and teams will be more ready for them this year, not to mention as of now they have worse CB's than last year.

So, I don't see it being far fetched becoming the 2 team in the division.
