The Bills may be wanting to offer Keiaho or June one year contracts as well. What if the Bills have another disappointing season? What will that mean for Jauron?
Probably won't be here is my guess. If that is the case, there is a good chance that the new coach will want to change the tampa 2 into his own scheme that he believes in.
If that is the case you gotta believe that Bills FO is thinking the same thing, and they may be hesitant to offer a contract beyond a year or two.

Peterson probably was the best of the group so far on a one year basis, but I'm actually hoping we get Freddy Keiaho or Cato June
-
Interesting.
But I sure wish I knew how DJ holds his players "accountable":
"Yes, he’s a coach you want to play for and want to win for, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold you accountable — because he does."
What does that mean? The player does not get a gold star next to his name for the week? The player gets sent to bed without dessert?
you do live up to your name.
I gotta give you that

Hell yeah!!
Coming back to Buffalo early to get this show going!
That's what I'm talkin about

I figured this was the best way to let you guyz know. He should be on in a few minutes

These two additions would be pretty dramatic in my opinion but I agree we need two more signings (O-Line and at LB).
But, you need to realize that the TO deal is a one year fling. This means, the only way it really makes sense is to push HARD to go the extra step this year. I feel this means borrowing from the future. There are two ways to do this:
1.) make a significant trade of future picks to get a needed piece this year (such as scheffler form Denver)
or
2.) use the 1st round pick this year for NOW instead of the future. A now pick would be Pettigrew rather than at DE. DE is a major need and will pay off in the long run but who, then, plays TE this year???
I agree completely!
This year is an important year for many people, and now seems like a logical year to make a stronger push than normal.
A trade for Scheffler would seem like a good move. If we didn't go this route, a pick in Pettigrew would make an immediate impact. I believe this player is as NFL ready as anyone in the draft. He is physical, big and would be an imposing blocker, who has the quickness , big target and hands to be a good safety valve immediately.

Josh McDaniels thinks Cutler is a keeper

Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post suggests that coach Dick Jauron was not in favor of the Bills' signing of Terrell Owens.
Lombardi notes that Jauron hasn't commented on T.O. and that CEO Russ Brandon is now the top personnel man in Buffalo. Owens makes Lee Evans and Trent Edwards better on paper, but this isn't a usual Jauron move. It does have the potential to improve Jauron's chances of keeping his job through 2010.

does the shame ever end?

Russ Brandon said he we weren't done. Linebacker and LG

freakin' newbies.

I know
having said that
How do I make a poll? I tried and I obviously did it wrong
-
Where's the poll?

good question?
I don't know
-
Who will lead our team in receptions this year?
I actually think it will be Josh Reed.
-
I gotta agree.
good move
set the precedant
-
Not that I disagree with anything you guys have said...but it seems a little over-the-top mean.
that's because we are a bunch of meanies

-
Doesn't surprise me at all.
I've been ripped for saying this, but I have said that he seems like a very composed, confident man.
He recognizes that T.O will help this offense by adding a new talented dynamic and freeing up other options.
According to this article, Trent Edwards may very well be the reason why we have T.O on this team.
-
I've been saying this for a couple weeks now. The Jets are worse off today then they were at the end of last season.
Bart Scott is an upgrade, but not as much as everyone makes him out to be, there is no doubt, with all that talent he had around him, will make any player look better.
Lito Sheppard couldn't even start for his own team, so he's not too much of an upgrade.
Jim Leonard is small and slow and undoubtedly looked a whole lot better than what he was in the Ravens system, and I can't wait for T.O and Lee Evans to rip him up in center field.
Jet's lost Brett Favre and have no one as of now that can step in and fill his shoes. This is where they will really hurt.
Laverneous Coles, arguably their best WR is gone and Baker a decent Receiving TE is gone.
I have little doubt in my mind that we not only gained ground, but surpassed them talent wise.
I am psyched about this season

Because he's "past his prime"? Yeah, right. You have no idea what you're talking about. Two years ago Sheppard and Brown were considered the best young CB tandem in the game. No one knew who these two were coming in and trying to replace Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent - one of the best CB tandems in the game for years - but these two were more than adequate. Sheppard didn't fall out of favor because of lack of talent; he fell out of favor because he bitched about his contract and Philly doesn't put up with that bull sh--. He would have played somewhere else but Philly couldn't get their asking price and could afford his cap number for one more year. But thanks for "refuting" my point.
You literally have no idea what you're talking about. Richard Seymour is a 3-4 DE. 3-4 DE's don't generally rack up large amounts of sacks. That being said, he tied his career high last year with 8 sacks. Adalius Thomas is a monster, and still has every bit of speed and versatility. His stats are harder to measure because they move him from WLB to SLB to MLB at will, depending on injury or the scheme.
If you think Lito shepard is one of the best DB's in the league. You are in the minority.
After giving up three touchdowns against Arizona on Thanksgiving, Sheppard was dropped from No. 3 to No. 5 on the depth chart. He then played mostly on special teams the rest of the season.
He was traded for a fifth round draft choice, New Englands at that.
Paleaaaase. One of the best?

I gotta disagree here with you...TO is a big deep play threat...may not be his biggest strength, but he makes plenty of deep plays because of his excellent route running and stregnth he is able to create seperation.
I knew I was gonna disagree with you sooner or later.
TO has been a dangerous deep play threat, but his strenghts has been more for the intermediate routes as of lately. He is fearless going across the middle and I suspect that is how Buffalo will use him this year. I'm pretty sure you will see him running lots of 10-20 yard routes this year.
Man that would be sweet, seeing him run the slant
-
It's on Turk's shoulders just as much.
This is a critical year for lots of people.
For T.O, this is about as important as it gets for him, because if the Bills fail and he has subpar numbers, no team will pay him a decent contract and his image will be tarnished.
For Jauron, If he finishes with another 7-9 record or worse, he most likely will be canned and he never will get a shot at being a HC again.
For Schonert, this is his opportunity to shine as a OC. Now he received a lot of flack last year, and I'm not too sure if it was justified, either way, If Jauron goes so does Schonert.
For Trent Edwards, Even though I believe there are teams that value him and believe that he is an NFL starter, if he doesn't have a good year, there is a chance that the next HC will want to at least consider replacing him as the starting qb for the Bills.
So this is a make or break year for many players and coaches.

If Lito Sheppard sucks then he sucks. But he can't be past his prime at 27.
For the record, I don't think he sucks, and I think you're going to see that this year. He lost his starting job because he bitched and moaned about getting a new contract, Philly said no (as they always do), and brought in Asante. Then they couldn't off-load Sheppard, so they had him play the nickel. Joselio Hanson was playing so well he beat out Lito down the stretch (they also knew Lito wouldn't be back next year and were looking forward), and they rewarded Hanson with a nice contract to boot.
I didn't say he sucked, I was just refuting the point you made about Lito being a part of one of the best starting tandem db's in the league.
-
Yup. He's old and hurtin.
time to put him to sleep
-
Hakeem Nicks and Brandon tate were tough to stop until Tate got injured. He was the best return man in the NFL. Nicks I would love to have.
-
It doesn't matter. NE's front 7 continue to get pressure making the job of the DB's easy. That's why it doesn't matter who we have in our secondary since we can never mount a pass rush. Not sure how they're getting "older" - I mean, everyone ages. Seymour is 29, Warren is 28, Wilfork is 27, Thomas is 31, Mayo is 23. They'll replace the 34 year old Vrabel with a guy in his 20's (barring the signing of Jason Taylor). Bruschi (35) maybe plays for one more year. The secondary - aside from Shawn Springs - is very young (Hobbs is 25, Meriweather is 24, Sanders is 25, Wilhite is 24). If anything they're getting younger.
Lito Sheppard is 27. How is he past his "prime," exactly?? The Jets defense - led by Rex Ryan - might be sick next year. Revis and Sheppard might be the best CB tandem in the league (outside of Philly), and Rhodes is very, very good. Leonhard has proven he's a serviceable starting SS too.
you do know that Lito Sheppard lost his starting job, and by the end of the year he wasn't even in the nickel back package dont you?

Bills may just offer 1 year contracts to June or Keiaho

It definitely got me thinking thats for sure. It does make sense. This is why June and Keiaho were cut. They didn't fit their new regime's vision.
