  1. so all it will take is a good draft and we are playoff bound? gimme a friggin break. our bonehead front office could screw up a wet dream. lets just say this senario happens we get all three, frick, we get Orakpo,Mack and Coffman, one of these guys will be a bust and the other two will take time to develop into the players they were in COLLEGE( you know that place where not everyone you play is pro caliber?) Instead, every year, from late december till mid July there is BS sense of optimism that some how, this front office, regardless of year after year after year of stupid decisions, poor drafting, completly flabergasting Free agent moves and a "piss down your back and tell you its rainning" media spin from Chris Brown, belief that some how, some way, this year is different.

Do yourselves a favor, cancel your season tickets(I did, anyone want 2 seats in the Van Miller club can PM me) get a frickin hobby that doesnt involve speculating about a pack of carreer losers and check back in with these losers sometime in the 1st week of september if you are interested in a rerun of the past 10 myear.

I want to puke. sorry for my rant.

I don't know what's more pathetic, your disdain for the Bills or that you spend your time complaining about them here.

  2. I do.

A bona-fide TE would open up the middle of the field, give Trent another receiving threat, take teams' attention off of Lee, back them off the line of scrimmage for our running game, and pretty much transform the entire offense. Without a second threat in the passing game, Lee is going to continue to see double coverage and a 2 deep zone, Trent is going to continue to see 6 guys dropping back in coverage, and you are going to continue to see dump off passes to the running backs and Bills losses.

What is Maualuga going to do to our defense?... make us slightly better in the running game, and add virtually nothing to the pass rush? A good TE makes the TE position better, the QB position better, the receiving corps better, and the running game better. Who does Maualuga make better... the OLB held by Keith Ellison?

You can't tell me that Maualuga has more value to the outcome of games and the team than a legit receiving threat at TE.

As much as I agree with how valuable a good TE would mean to our team, I disagree in the impact of whatyou believe a stud playmaking linebacker could do for our defense. Maluaga probably would be more than just a run stuffer, did you happen to see what he did for USC in the OHio State game?

  3. I am not completely sold on Johnson yet, I prefer Everett Brown at this juncture. Alex Mack I'd love to have, There is no doubt that he would be a great fit for our team, and Kaufmann I've been drooling about for a while now. I love the idea of drafting DE in the first, center in second and TE in the third. I hope that this plays out for us.

  4. He was the only defensive player in '07 to have at least one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and I might be missing something else, but you get the picture. Crowell has the knack for making big plays. I'm able to observe these things during a game, hey, but that's just me.

How many tackles did Crowell have in 07 compared to Ellison's last year?

    Nuff said

  5. Its pretty obvious that TE, C, and back up QB are our biggest offensive needs, i'm just wondering where we can acquire said players and have them make an instant impact. Backup QB will obviously be a FA and not a draft pick, i currently like guys like Kittna, Batch, or Leftwich. As far as TE and C I'm not sure if we draft both sign one as a FA/trade and draft the other, or acquire both via FA/trade.

The real question i think would be which position is more likel to be filled with a rookie and have that rookie be successful. I know thats based largely on the individual but certain positions like QB, WR often have a learning curve. I like guys like Gresham, Coffman, Pettigrew, and even Beckum at TE but we can't afford to wait for any development. Same can be said for Alex Mack or Unger at C; in addition i believe our 1st pick should be a DE so we would need to wait until rds 2 and 3 to fill the TE and C needs.

If i had my preference i'd like us to sign Jason Brown of Baltimore at C, and then trade a 2nd to Cleveland for Winslow, or sign Owen Daniels as a RFA (i think Daniels would fit in better than Winslow, plus he;s more durable).

Just curious how anyone else feels we can fix this mess!

    Im just wondering....

Are the Cleveland Browns shopping Winslow? and would they accept a 2nd rounder?

As far as aquiring a center, I do like the idea of picking up Jason Brown, I also like the idea of signing Birk to a 2 year deal and picking up a center like Unger in the third round. Birk would be a good center to learn from.

As far as Owen Daniels is concerned, I like him, but i have a feeling he is going to command big bucks, and I love this year's TE's coming out of college. I'd rather go through the draft.

  6. Most college qb's would be accurate if they played behind guys like Loadholt and Duke Robinson, had demarco murray, and chris brown in the backfield and were throwing to Juaquin Iglesiasm, and Jermaine Gresham. As for Tebow fantastic college player, he's a situational/project player in the pro's.

There is no doubt that he had a fantastic O line. It still doesn't take away how good he is. I have no doubt that he will be one hell of a player!! And all yall will be WRONG!!!

  7. Bradford has a "deer in headlights" look to him also. And did you notice he is basically a one-read QB? The team that takes him #1 is going to be kicking themselves.

    Your wrong on this one...

Bradford is gonna be a really good one. He is about an accurate of a passer as you will ever find.

As far as Tebow is concerned, He impresses me. Not as a TE or Hback like some have suggested, but as a quarterback. He has a rocket arm, he is mobile and most importantly he is a winner!!

If he is available in the fourth round, which I seriously doubt, then I would pick him up without hesitation (unless someone else irresistable was available) and I would even consider a third round pick if one of my coveted centers or TE's weren't available.

    Tebow is a winner!!

  8. I don't know the details of Kirk Chambers contract other then seeing that he is a FA. I don't know if he is restricted or unrestricted or some other category that changes from week to week.

My question is do you think he will be offered a contract to return - or will he be given not offer?

I think he is a very solid back up and I imagine a good number of teams would be willing to sign him and give him the opportunity to fight for a starting job?

Or will the Bills try to sign him long term and let Peters play out his contract?

    Just curious.

I think we should sign him!!

  9. After 2nite's game, I am willing to that most of Bills Nation will be screaming for Percy Harvin.

think about this...... Harvin is a WR/RB hybrid with all world speed. Our fearless leader, Trent, likes to check down to his RB, our OC loves to put the RB out into the slot WR position. Our backup RB was a big part of the passing game this year. Harvin is like Reggie Bush without all the hype, I think Harvin is for real.

Fred Jackson is a UFA this offseason. You gotta know that scouts around the league realize this guy can start at RB on alot of teams.

I love Jackson, he just isnt the type of RB that screams "change of pace runningback". I love how Jackson runs. It reminds me of Marshawn Lynch. Too much. Think Lendale White/Chris Johnson of the Titans or Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, Deuce and Reggie, Jacobs and Bradshaw, Larry Johnson and Anthony Aldridge. I want the Buffalo version of Smash"n"Dash!!!!

This guy PERFECTED the scatback/Wildcat formation.

Almost all of you will agree that thie biggest thing this offense lacks is a true gamebreaker. I mean, Lee will burn you deep but hasnt been too impressive in the RAC area. Lynch wont break 50yd TDs like Adrian Peterson. Roscoe, to say the least, has been diappointing in the passing game. Reed's steadyness is his greatest strength, but that TD in St. Luis was his 1st in 2 yrs. Hardy needs time to develop but will never be a gamebreaker.

You can say " draft Crabtree if he drops" or take a chance on Maclin. Some of you think that Jermain Gresham is the key. HARVIN is the playmaker this team is aching for!

    And He benches 375lbs+!!!!!!

    Lets start a movement.

I think this is how Matt Millen made his draft decisions.

  10. Who ever says that they would take Derek Fine over Winslow needs to have their posting priveledges suspended for a minimum of 2 weeks. That is almost as preposterous as saying Carolyn Kennedy brings more to the senate seat than just a last name called "Kennedy".

Winslow is a tremendous athlete, has great hands and can make plays after the catch.

    My senario:

Trade Terrence Mcgee to cleveland for Winslow. They need a CB, we need a TE. I'd say trade youboty but there is gonna be a war if cleveland does indeed declare intent to trade. We need to use the most attractive bait we have. IMHO, greer is a better CB and Mckelvin is oooooozing with upside.

Bring in our typical 2nd class DE. Our defense was ok and our pass rush blew. Why? no schoeble. a healthy Aaron and a DE not named Kelsay or Denny will make for a much improved pass rush.

Resign Crowell. He's better than most free agents we would be bothered to take a shot at and he knows our system.

    let Matt Birk retire. please.

    Draft:

    1. Percy Harvin. somebody started a thread validating this......

    2. Alex Mack if he drops. if he doesnt we need to address the SS position A guy like William Moore( I doubt he drops) or my Favorite,Patrick Chung, from Oregon is a good fit here.

    3. He's a good spot to look for another pass rusher, with the exception or Orapko(anyone else call him oh-crap-o?) this draft is really pretty weak at DE. I'd be sad if we took a DE in the 1st two rounds. Nobody is that good. I dont care how bad the blogosphere thinks we need a DE.

    4. look for backup QB. Tim Tebow could be a great H-back and 3rd string QB while he develops.

    5. LB

    6.OL

    7. WR/KR

Thank God this won't ever happen!!

  11. As much as I have always respected and enjoyed watching Marvin Harrison play, he is aging, he is on the decline, and I believe we could spend the money more wisely. I would like to see what Hardy and Johnson could do this year. I am really excited to see what Johnson does!!

  12. After 2nite's game, I am willing to that most of Bills Nation will be screaming for Percy Harvin.

He probably will be a decent weapon in the NFL, but I believe if we lock up Jackson now, he won't be that expensive. We do have lots of other more pressing needs than finding a third rb/wr. If he was available maybe in the fourth round, then I would say it would be worth it.

  13. per rotoworld

ESPN's Ed Werder confirms that impending free agent NT Tank Johnson will not be retained by the Cowboys this offseason.

This was reported two days ago in the Dallas Morning News. Tank kept his nose clean with the Cowboys and would appear to have a better chance of finding a team in 2009 than Adam Jones. Johnson fits better in a 4-3 defense.

I think he would be a good fit!! For the right price

  14. I know, get over it, right?

I am not going to get over it because it is costing us "Wins" every season.

    Let me ask you this....

There are 32 head coaches in the NFL and they should be the very best coaches in the country.

Most high School head coaches learn about clock management before they are even considered for Head Coach.

How do you explain running the ball with 30 seconds remaining on the clock against New England.

Bill Billechick must have been laughing all night about that one.

If that's not bad enough, how do you explain calling a huddle? A quick score and unside kick could have won the game.

Think of it this way...this is like hiring a bank teller that does not know how to count money, then offering them an extension when the books show continuous discrepancies.

Perhaps you think Dick Jauron will improve, well you have more patience then me.

Some of you have already given up on Derek Fine and James Hardy.

If Ralph does not address clock management this off season by turning over the duties to someone else, it will cost us big time next season. I can list over 15 games where the clock was not used properly in the last few years and so could you!

I hate harping on this issue, but the situation is ridiculous.

Its just plain crazy to expect your players to be well prepared when the head coach is clearly lost!

    Get over it!!

  15. As much as I would like to keep Greer, he WILL end up being a cap casualty. As he should. Mckelvin is ready to be a high quality corner, Reggie Corner showed a lot of promise in the Denver game, Youbouty looked good and Mcgee will be top notch. Dansby would look nice in a Bills Uniform, but Crowell I feel would be a better fit for Buffalo, in regards to cap friendliness, familiarity with our system and not to mention he is a good talent (lock him up with a 2 year contract). We should break the bank and Sign Suggs (this would be a good way to try to revive season ticket sales) not to mention he would be that big proven pass rushing DE that we desperately need to go along side Schobel. Schobel we should retain for another year and see if he is the player we hope for him to be, if not, cut him the next following season. Kelsay HAS TO GO!!!! Sign Birk to a 2-3 year deal and draft one of the talented centers in the 2nd - 4th round as it is a deep draft for centers this year. Resign Peters, not too often you get a ProBowl blind side tackle, unless we can get a boat load of draft picks for him. Pick up Coffman or Gresham in either the first or second round TE. If We don't pick up Gresham as our first round, Get Everett Brown, and he should be a good situational pass rusher his first year, and will eventually take over Schobel ( you can never have enough good Defensive Lineman ALA the Giants). If he is not available, then consider Raji or Taylor Mays.

This would be the way I would go.

  16. I understand your point but disagree. Indy has Freeney, Sanders, even Mathis and they sucked Defensively this year. Yes Tampa made it work when they had Sapp and Carter but that was 5-10 years ago when it was real effective, I feel the league has caught up to it and it is no longer a good viable option. If Chicago cant make it work this past year with Urlacher and Harris what chance do we have.

I'm sorry, who is rushing the passer for Chicago?? And btw, The colts gave up less passing touchdowns then any one in the NFL.

  17. Let's see how everyone will feel when he passes away. At least he didn't sell out when his team was one of the least profitable in the entire NFL, with one of the most stagnant and declining markets. You know how much the rest of the NFL teams and owners are salavating for the Bills to sell their franchise to Toronto in their booming, growing market. Be careful for what you ask for, cuz you might just get it!!!
