  1. That's the beautiful thing about the signing...every single offensive skill player benefits from this. Trent has a brand new shiny receiving weapon and won't require as much time in the pocket. Evans won't have to worry about double teams anymore. Reed will largely be covered by outside linebackers and strong safeties all year. Lynch/Jackson won't have to deal with any more than 7 in the box. Whatever tight end is starting for us will have tons of open space to deal with.

The Pressure is on for Schonert in divising ways in implementing how to get the ball to T.O, quickly

and also on Trent in getting the ball to them.

  2. Upgraded version of Heath. Have you lost your mind? If Pitt threw the ball more to Heath then what they do he'd never even come close. I'd take 1 Heath to 100 Brandons.

    We'll see

you obviously havn't seen Pettigrew play too much. Because if you had, you wouldn't be saying that. There is a reason why all the NFL scouts are salivating over Pettigrew.

He will be better than Heath Miller

  3. i can't believe i am wasting my time answering this, but since you are wasting your time thinking about it, you should stop. Crabtree won't be there. i'll give you the keys to my house and car if he is.

    ok

    give me your email address.

I will take you up on that offer

Crabtree I believe is overrated, he is a product of the "genius" Mike Leach pass happy offense. I wouldn't touch him this early at all, specially now that we have T.O

There are lots of good W.R's in this year's draft, probably 5 potential first rounders, and I have said it before and I'm sticking to it, Hakeem Nicks will be the best of the bunch

  4. I think trading for Waters is still a real possibility, but I'm getting the feeling they are going to roll the dice on an injured Guard like Simmons or Bentley.

If it works out, well great...you got a star Guard for (probably) well below cost.

Honestly, if we go the FA route, I'd rather bring in both Simmons and Bentley. If we can somehow manage a trade with KC for Waters, then I think we'll add a Guard in Rounds 3-5 in the draft and just be done with it.

I dont see the Bills upgrading their DT spot this year, I think they're happy with what they have. Cant say I agree, but they havent even whispered about upgrading the interior D-Line all offseason.

Pass Rush help comes in the draft, with Brown, Maybin or Orakpo. There are no veteran FAs who could substantially help in that department unfortunately.

once again I agree with you Malta,

the only player that you mention that makes me nervous is Maybin. I just don't have a good feeling about him. If he does turn out to be a good player, I just don't see it happening early in his career. I would stay away from him.

  5. Pettigrew is the best, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be one of the best all around TE's coming from the draft this year. He is what a true Tight End should be. People see his 40 time and then they want to immediately disregard him. Obviously that is logic that is flawed. If people have seen him play, then they know that he is going to be one hell of a pro football player. In my view he is an upgraded version of Heath Miller.

Having said that, This year's draft is so deep for TE's, it would be logical to either trade down to get Pettigrew, or pickup one of the other promising Tight End's in the 3rd-5th rounds.

  6. I can't get past the Bills' 0-6 record against the AFC East. There isn't much difference between 1st and 3rd, but I think there's a big gap between 2nd and 4th.

I respect your opinions, but I think this one is off. I usually try to put on my objective hat on when I speak with my friends about football or sports for that matter.

I do believe there is a big gap between New England and Buffalo. But we have owned the Dolphins over the past few seasons, and last year the games were pretty close. We were beating Miami by 9 points in the third quarter and then we broke down. Even in that game, Jason Peters was getting abused by Porter and I have to believe that Jason Peters coming in camp, that that won't happen again. Not to mention, the Bills coaching staff had no business allowing Mcgee play that game, and Ginn had a career day, and I'm sure if he was healthy that wouldn't of happened.

The second game, J.P Losman was the quarterback and it was still a close game.

Now I know we lost those games, and that is that, but considering the history and how close the games were last year, doesn't lead me to believe that there is a big gap between us at all.

As far as the Jets are concerned, first game was close, the second game we had a colossal breakdown. Losman *cough cough*

Sure the Jets made some offseason moves, defensive ones and that will improve them from a defensive stand point, but the Jets have lost Brett Favre, Coles and Baker and there is no doubt up to now, that the Jets are worse off than last year.

I would say 2 -4 in the AFC East are very close.

  7. T.O is the guy you love to hate. It's just to easy, he puts himself at the center of attention, and he is the personification of what Buffalo is, "Me, Me, Me". I definitely wasn't on board with the program when it was a rumour.

I really believed, we had no shot in hell in signing T.O. So, I as a fan saw what most people see in T.O, his selfish, destructive ways.

But as the rumour turned into more of a reality, I couldn't help but start seeing all the amazing talents and intangibles that he brings to the table. As the day went on, I became more excited and then BAM!!

T.O signs 1 year $6.5Million deal with the Bills.

Absolutely in shock. I still really couldn't believe it, I thought maybe there would be a chance that the deal would get voided or it was a mistake or pending a physical or something.

After seeing him wear that Bills hat and stating that he is a Bill. It finally hit home.

There is no doubt, that he has brought more excitement to the Bills at least for me in many years. Not only does he bring excitement, but he brings production, even if he doesn't match his recent numbers, there is no doubt that the opposing teams will have to pay more attention to him and that should free up Lee Evans and company for more receiving opportunities, not to mention that there should be less 8 man boxes for our awesome two headed monster rushing attack.

I'm really glad that Jauron, Russ Brandon, Ralph Wilson and everyone else involved made this happen.

It's a good day to be a Bills fan.

  8. T.O.'s agent, Drew Rosenhaus has duped us twice now in the last 5 or 6 years. When Willis McGahee was waiting to be drafted, he had McGahee on a phone to pretend he was talking to other teams and that tricked the Bills into taking him in the first round, despite knowing he wasn't going to play for a year or so. Now, he gets the Bills to believe that other teams are interested in T.O., when in all actuallity, we were the only ones. Somehow, they got the Bills to guarantee 6.5 million for one year, when we were just bidding against ourselves, there was no one else. We could have had him for alot less. At least he duped Jerry Jones a few years ago, there was no other team that wanted him the either, and he got a $25 million deal from the Cowboys. I think this F.O. would get taken advantage of on a preschool playground, but after all the man in charge of everything was in charge of selling tickets just a couple years ago-what a jump?

    maybe, maybe not.

But TO's talent at $6.5 Million is a better value than Laverneous Coles at $7 Million

  9. Apparently everyone thinks Trent Edwards sucks balls

    I don't!!

Just that the few that do think he sucks makes themselves heard.

There is no doubt in my mind, if Trent stays healthy, that he is going to have a big year.

  10. No sh*t!

I gotta believe that the slant will be used a lot more this year.

Even if T.O is not as productive physically as he use to be, he will open up things for Lee, the other recievers and RB's.

    This was a great move!

What I like best, is that this is a 1 year deal.

No time for T.O to be a complainer.

This is showtime for him, and I'm sure he's going to work his butt off and try to do the best he can.
