  1. Just like Dennison said, the blame should go to both. The ball should have gone to the outside shoulder. Sal Capaccio ‏Verified account @SalSports 3h3 hours agoMore Replying to @SalSports .... as far as the throw, it should have been over the outside shoulder, but there wasn't a huge window with a ton of time..
  2. This is exactly what I was talking about, I'm sure the ALL 22 or whatever other analytical metrics wouldn't give a negative mark if anything a positive one for TT for getting some positive yardage on his run. But, the slot receiver on the bottom was there for an easy slant pass and TT seemed to be looking that direction. The DB's were playing 10 yards off the receivers. TT just doesn't seem to process these things quickly enough. It's frustrating to watch these missed opportunities.
  3. Cam is a quality starting QB, he can be inconsistent at times and he did miss a couple key throws this past game. But even so, he rifled in a number of 15-20 yard passes, throws that other QB's are hesitant of doing. He made some plays for them and he definitely wasn't the reason why they were held in check. Our defense deserves much credit for their lack of offense.
  4. This team is going to get better. What McD has done with the discipline regarding penalties, having the defense play good sound fundamental football should provide our fan base encouragement. The offense will have it's games where they will perform ok and then there will be a few of these that we just had. Via the draft and FA we will markedly improve this team in a number of different areas.
  5. Hughes was incredible this past game. Very proud of the Front four or for that matter the entire defense. I give them an a Solid A all the way around.
  6. Very potentially insightful post. I agree that from my perspective that Peterman is a better fit for this offense and I also agree that TT does not see the field pre snap or process game play well. What TT does do well is he throws it with decent accuracy and he doesn't really turn the ball over which is hugely underrated. The other aspect that I agree with is that McD really could not bench TT at or around the beginning of the season because it is quite possible that many of his players would have a hard time buying into what they are doing because of that decision. I think that in order for them to put Peterman in, TT has to play himself out of the position to where benching him for Peterman would be much more justified not just from fans but from the players as well. I hope that TT is able to not have that many repeat lackluster performances like this past weekend (and yes I know, if you analyze the throws that TT made they weren't that bad, but what I'm also pretty sure about is that there were plenty of opportunities to throw the ball at least 8 yards or more beyond the LOS that he didn't attempt to make). Let's just hope that TT can see the field better in the coming games and we won't have to revisit this conversation any time soon. But if he can't, then you gotta see what Peterman has.
  7. If TT continues to have lackluster performances (and that is putting it mildly) and he continuously looks to check down rather than spot Receivers further down than 7 yards in front of the line of scrimage, then you gotta yank him for the youngster. But you gotta give TT at least another 4-5 more games before you make that determination.
  8. He's the OC, what else would you expect him to say about his starting QB?
  9. Bend but not break. Well, we gave up 214 yards vs Jets Then we gave up 255 against the Panthers at their home. We aren't bending all that much
  10. If Shaq ends up being a top rated end against the rush and a 6-8 sack guy a year, then he absolutely would be worth attempting to re-sign at a well paid contract level, not elite but in the top 10-20% range.
  11. They really have and you know that these guys aren't the guys they envision as the future core of their LB group. I'm guessing we are going to draft a speedy, instinctive MLB high in next years draft and let go of P. Brown. Humber and Alexander may still be around but I'm guessing they'll address those LB's through FA and the draft as well. They'll pick up another DB or two and probably another interior DL. They have plenty of draft picks and cap room to add on to this team.
  12. Every single starting LB on this team will not be a starting LB 2 years from now. This unit will be completely revamped, having said that it goes to show you what a semi slow limited athletically group of LB's can do when they play good solid, disciplined fundamental football. They still perform at a pretty good level. There will be more new DB's, LB's and Linemen that will be added to this team over the next couple years. The talent level is only going to improve from where we are.
  13. He's not our franchise QB and we all know it.
  14. I love TT as a leader and I love his work ethic. I wish he was the one, but it's as clear as day that he isn't the QB that this team needs. I'm guessing there is a pretty good chance that he won't be on the team.
  15. It was a fantastic defensive effort. We stuffed the run throughout the game and played lights out in the second half. Tremendous pressure with the front four, effective blitzing that got to the quarterback and that last pass interference they received where they had a first at the one, the fact that we were able to stuff them on their next two runs showed a lot of character. And this team 2 years from now is going to have a lot more talent than it does right now, and even though TT cost them the game with his errant throw, I feel as if this team is building the foundation necessary to get us going where we need to go.
  16. Time management was why we lost? It wasn't even a contributing cause. The coaching is a major strength of this team, we have gone from a team plagued with penalties to a team that doesn't commit all that many. We now have a very disciplined defense already playing at a very high level and I can tell you this, the talent level is only going to get better. I won't get into the reasons why we lost on this thread, but it certainly wasn't coaching. To be honest with you, knowing all the draft choices and salary cap room we will have I am as optimistic as I have been about this team's future than I've been in a very long time.
  17. Zay could have caught and if had it would have been a primetime catch. Having said that, this was primarily TT's fault. Just an ok throw and Zay scores.
  18. I used to watch ESPN religiously. Now I rarely watch it, except for the occasional college football or basketball game, If Yankees are on or Soccer matches. Aside from that their programming sucks.
  19. No need to get so defensive. We are discussing that play, it's not a TT bash fest. And it wasn't just a matter of recognizing to throw to Clay a little too slow, it was more of an issue of not recognizing that Clay had one on one matchup early on with a LB and that the only other person which was the safety #33 that had a possibility of making a play had taken himself out of the play when TT initially looked towards Zay, which #33 was in clear sight of this, at that point is when he should have looked back to Clay and made the throw. Rather he kept shuffling his feet around, hesitated and then looked towards Clay. By then Clay had moved from the middle of the field back to where #33 was and was forced to throw it slightly behind Clay because #33 would have been there if TT had led Clay. This is a good discussion and for some of us, this is at the crux of TT.'s weaknesses, which is pre snap reads and live game recognition of plays developing.
  20. Man, you've got him on lock lately.
  21. I don't think it's a coincidence that those who were on team Jwill are the same ones who are down on Tolbert, but I digress.
  22. Buy: DB's - I think they have a good thing going Sell: Wood, Miller and Mills - I think the middle to right side of the line is in for a long afternoon Hold: Defensive Line - will get some pressure but not as much as we'd like but they'll hold it down and stuff the run
  23. It's not the be-all-end-all stat that paints the entire picture but it certainly isn't a meaningless one either. It is yet another metric that can helps teams prepare for their opponents offense and to help offenses/QB's diagnose if they are making their reads quick enough. It should be treated like most other stats, just another metric that helps paint a picture.
  24. And it isn't coincidental that every Senator who is considering running for president signed on. You gotta pander to the base to win not unlike what the candidates in the GOP did as well.
