  1. There is the premium subsidy that offsets the cost of the plans premium and then there is the CSR Cost Share Reduction subsidy. The CSR is what lowers the plans deductibles, MOO and doctor prescription copays on the silver tiered plans. The $7 Billion figure accounts only for the CSR not the premium subsidies which is the bulk of the subsidies
  2. If this move were to stand you'd think that maybe it could save taxpayers money, right? Wrong. There may be savings on the cost shares, but carriers would have to dramatically increase rates, and when rates go higher, who do you think pays the majority of that increase? The consumer? Wrong. The taxpayer. As premiums go higher the subsidies go higher. You know who else will pay higher prices? The consumers who don't qualify for subsidies that have pre existing medical conditions that need these policies from the individual market. Except they don't have the government to help pay for the increase, they have to pay for it all themselves. Sure, if you are healthy you could get a short term plan but if you have Pre ex and you are in the middle class and you have to get insurance from the individual market, well.....Let's just say that it already was bad as it was because of the law but now it got even worse. Yet another dumb decision from the administration. So not only are real people going to have to pay higher premiums but taxpayers will pay more as well. Strangely enough, the lowest income folks would be the most shielded from this decision, it's the middle class and the tax payers who get whacked the most. https://hotair.com/archives/2017/10/13/trump-obamacare-insurer-subsidies-guess-checked-budget-constitution/
  3. He'll easily be able to fetch $25M a year sort of contract with at least $60M guaranteed and it won't be just one team that will be looking for his services at that rate or higher but at least several and justifiably so. He's earned the right to be considered a top 8 QB in this league. He's a bonafide franchise QB.
  4. Thread title should be: "Appears that Sammy's act is already wearing thin with new teammates"
  5. I know defiance when I hear it. And that was defiant
  6. As I said, Kimmel wasn't sincere and that he's a fraud.
  7. Cousins has proven that he should be mentioned with the upper tier QBs of the league. It would be crazy if the Redskins let him walk but if they did Buffalo should be all over it.
  8. Obviously every human is built differently and some have the genes to enjoy longer careers than others but all things being equal, running backs don't hit the proverbial wall based off reaching a certain age nearly as much as the total times they have carried the ball. It's the wear and tear and the bruising hits that shorten their careers, specially the ones that enjoy the contact. Someone who has barely carried the ball at the age of 29 vs someone who has carried the ball much more often at around the same age are two totally different circumstances. In short, just looking at age is stupid.
  9. I've been making this point for about a week now. Bringing in a WR that doesn't fit the teams long term views doesn't make sense for a few reasons; one being that even if you did get a decent WR to come in the odds that he would be able to become a valuable contributor within the first month or so is bordering on slim to none.
  10. I'll be the judge of that...
  11. So what's your stance on this Turbo?
  12. So what is the debate about? I'll be more than happy to fairly judge who has the more reasoned argument.
  13. That's not going to do wonders for Kizer's confidence moving forward. Some QB's never recover.
  14. So now the new excuse for Sammy's lack of production is that there is a concerted effort and conspiracy that involves the GM of the Rams, their head coach, Offensive coordinator and Goff and that the reason why they are all in on it is that they can pay Sammy less???
  15. No man, his serial defenders are too invested in him to admit that they were probably wrong. The excuse train will go on through the season into the next if need be. It's always someone else's fault. First it was TT, then it was the coaches fault for not targeting him more often, then it was the injuries, then it was him being forced to play with injuries, then it was him being traded and not having enough time to learn the playbook, then it was because he's the only elite WR to be used as a decoy week in and week out, now it's because of Goff. Do you see a pattern here?
  16. He's due for a good game. It's the story of his career aside from one good stretch, inconsistence. Sammy puts up a good game, has an ok game than a stinker or two. Rinse and repeat.
  17. According to his own admission, it came at the expense of his relationships with his teammates and coaches. Fast forward to today and he has been shipped out to another team because FO didn't believe he was worth as much as he believed he was and from his own Twitter accounts, he still is doing the same thing he did before that he himself implied that he wouldn't do again and that he had learned from that mistake. Assuming he has yet another lack luster year production wise, at what point are the excuses for his continued under performance going to end?
  18. I'm guessing he was hoping that it wouldn't have reached Rotoworld or any other credible sporting news outlet.
  19. Hopefully it's a rumor that Dareus was drunk spouting off.
  20. You're right, if he did it, it would be to appease his ego.
  21. No reasonable thinking person believes this team is built to win now. You and I and virtually everyone knows this.
  22. They aren't going to make any trades that don't fit their long term goals. They have a clear and concise vision and they are going to stick to it. This isn't a willy nilly make splash moves FO, much like what we saw with Whaley. This under no scenario was ever going to be "the year". This was always meant to be the year that they began building the foundation of what good disciplined team football was going to be about. To begin changing the culture and instilling a new team attitude. The team lacks talent to be a serious contender, the fact that they are playing this well and could easily be 5-0 speaks to what they are achieving. Next year they will be filling up the cupboard with talent and even more so the year after. Even with the marginal talent that we have we are a fringe playoff contender. That gives me lots of reasoned hope for the future.
  23. No, you're right. He shouldn't have thrown it, it's not clear who was open. The sack was justified.
  24. I think it's going to be close. The defense has got to keep playing the way they have and the offense as limited as it on the offensive side of the ball will have to somehow be more efficient. I think we finish with a 9-7 record and barely miss out. Next year we get in.
